Lets make this a ken appreciation page. Ken inspired me to get back into footbag after playing with him one session over the summer when I overslept a white water rafting trip, and I've been playing since. Three cheers for ken!

He said that a break is good and that I will end up stopping for awhile. He was right about that, I stopped playing for almost a month after worlds.

He has helped me with my game a lot. I asked him about how to fix my slurry stepping and the advice was great, but I have yet to really try it and fix my stepping. He made us stop at one of my now favorite fast food place called In n Out Burger. It was soooo good! What I'm trying to really say is Ken is a really cool person and is fun to shred with. He has seen my game from the beginning to now. Thanks for being a friend Ken.

I still remember a lot of advice Ken gave me over the summer. His countless visits in NYC are always inspirational - not only to me but to all of NYFA. It's always a blast to play with him in both freestyle and 4-Square whenever he comes by, and he's always enthusiastic in these two forms of footbag.

So Ken, if you're reading this, it would be greatly appreciated if I have your address, so that I can send a bag over. If not, let me know if you're attending an East Coast tournament anytime soon (Shred for Savvy...), so that I can give you a 32. You're always too humble in taking gifts, footbag gifts even, but it's been more than 6 months since I've owed you a bag.

Next to Tuan Vu, Ken Somolinos is someone I idolize. Thanks for setting up the Asian footbag scene! :P

Kyle, the next we meet, we definitely need to kick together in a circle again buddy. I don't think our time at Worlds was long enough.

i feel like writing about people who have been a big part in my life or a big part in footbag now.... ill keep this updated with players all the time

Jim Penske has seen me when I had my first pairs of lavers, when i could barely do a clipper. when i couldnt really even link any tricks together. he played a big part with me and footbag. it was cool of one of the best players in the world to just come to a random session in idaho falls. that was cool of him

he was always really nice to me. he sold me a VHS copy of aggressive grounds for like 5 bucks. him and daryl would would always let me crash at their place and shred with me and teach me tricks. jim would always buy me shit to get drunk and would take me to badass places to eat. i consider him one of my really good friends inside and outside of footbag.

Thanks Kyle! That means a lot. I'm glad I had a part in getting you into footbag. You're the man! It's always good times when we chill. You need to come back to Boise and shred! You've already accomplished so much in competition. Never stop training.

I'm eagerly anticipating your post about me. I'm pretty sure I've been, like, the hugest influence on you ever . . .

It could read sometyhing like:

Wow, Jeremy. When we first got the chance to kick, it was like, well, in between 2 of your net matches, and, we really didn't have all that much time because your runs are so long. I remember you hit like 250 contacts and then had to go play net again. I only got to touch the bag once, but boy was that 3 trick run marvelous, or maybe I'm remembering your run. Anyhow, you're the epitome of style and class, and humble humility. If it wasn't for you I pronbably wouldn't even have been born or something. That's how important to me.
My name: Jeremy Mirken, AKA Chocolatey Shatner, AKA jerk enemy rim.

your time will come soon enough

daryl genz is another person who has helped me with footbag and life alot. i remember the first time i met him he welcomed me into his house and let me shred with him. that is something you dont expect anyone to do in anytype of sport nowadays. he is also one of the nicest people ive met too. ive never seen him get pissed off and yell at people before. he would also give me discounts and stuff at his store ;)

not only has he let me come to his house and shred, he has let me stay there for days at a time. what kind of person lets a random hack noob stay at their house? he also has helped me clean tricks, learn tricks, and learn to be kinda creative.

he is all around awesome

so i just heard about felix zenger quiting footbag due to a back injury. that sucks so bad :( he was my favorite footbagger to watch. i really just wanted the chance to play with him once... and maybe get my hands on a felix bag :( i guess that wont happen now.

last night was really fun for me. my drama class put on the play "the jury room" it went really well even though some of us (like me ;) ) forgot some lines. we all covered for each other. after that me and ashley got changed and went out to my car so i could give her a ride home. some of the people in my drama class were dancing in the rain so we decided to join them. it was really fun. after that i had to get gas and her parents let us hang out for half an hour so i parked on top of a hill and we over looked the little town of ririe until things got hot ;)

over all lifes pretty good.

thanks for reading my blog

im at a footbag all time low right now. i havent played seriously since mfj and when i try to have a serious session it ends up hurting me somehow. my ankles feel messed up, my hips hurt, my shins kill and all that junk. i miss playing footbag, but i just can't make myself want to play anymore.

i did my last drama performance last night. the play was called our town. i was doc gibbs and ashley was mrs gibbs. pretty good match eh? lol

my graduation is only days away. when does the feeling come that your done with highschool set in? its still surreal to me. like im still a sophomore in school and still have 2 years to go. it seems like yesterday i asked ashley to be my girlfriend, but in reality we have been dating for close to 10 months now. it feels life is moving way too fast for me. i want it to slow down so i can just relax and look at the world.

i want the feeling i had for footbag i had when i first started to play back... i want to wake up and just rush to play footbag again... i doubt that will happen.

i feel like i could be an amazing freestyle player if i just started to play more. i did really good in mfj but that really make me want to play any more then i do now. this all really sucks but i guess its life.

i was thinking about writing this or not, but what the hell. you guys are all my friends.

shits hit the fan lately with my girlfriend. her parents found out we have had sex before and said i was never allowed to see her again. that was the day before graduation. i was heart broken. i felt like shit that day... it was so fucking lame.... but then the next day after graduation ashleys mom called me and we talked about everything.

they're going to send her away for a month to some of her family so she can get away from her family. her family treats her horribly, but thats not the point. her mom said that after she comes back ashleys parents and her and me and my mom are going to talk and try and work things out.

i went to my school today to give some shit back i had from drama and see one of my teachers i didnt see after graduation. that teacher told me that if i was caught on the school trying to see ashley they would have a restraining order held against me so i couldnt see her or talk to her and they would have me arrested for some weird charge (like rape or something) it wasnt my intention to go see her... but that hurts.

shes still wearing the promise ring i bought her though. i hope everything will work out. on the way home from the school i just broke out in tears. i couldnt hold it in anymore. it was really sad to hear that they already checked her out of school early and didnt let me see her before she left...

i hope everything works out for me and her. shes been there for me for alot of shit. ive been there for her too. i dont care if i have to wait 2 years for her to be 18. ill wait for her.

im going to boise tomorrow to clear my head of everything and relax. ive been thinking about alot of shit i shouldnt be so i really need to get away and play footbag and have fun while this shit goes down.

if you read all of this post thank you. this shit ruined graduation for me. oh yeah that reminds me i graduated high school yesterday. awesome

feel free to post in here. advice. jokes. anything. just post

Oh I'm an idiot. I just read the most recent post.

That does suck, but props on graduating.

I hope her parents don't completely ruin it, but at least it seems that she is still into you.

By the way, the charge they would have against you is statutory rape.
