HODGKINS,

PORTLAND,
OR, US 02/05/2008 7:48 P.M. DEPARTURE SCAN
02/05/2008 6:36 P.M. ORIGIN SCAN
US 02/05/2008 7:38 P.M. BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED

well, its in Illinois. i wish it would go faster but there aren't many days left until it gets here so I guess I can wait.

I had an erg test at crew today. no one on these forums probably knows what it is but whatever. its a 2000m race with your mind and body. it's pure hell but todays i did really well. i got a personal record and seeing as im going to college for rowing...that's sweet! i got 7:30.8 my previous score was 7:41.3 . sso that was a HUGE drop. i dont think ive ever dropped that much since maybe my second ever 2k which was probably somwhere around 8:20.0 ...lol, thats funny to think about. i have gotten so much better in these past 4 years and im finally up with the faster guys on my team.

in other news, i dont think i ever wrote in here about that session i had with the other guys.

zac m.
josh m.
jim p.
Henry G.
some guy from austria
johnny S.

and i was the only one shredding... 8O everyone was watching me and i was like...AHHH! it was nuts but i had a good time. i hit zulu warrior and blurry drifter. i almost hit flip drifter but not quite, still needs better technique. my drifter were nuts though, ive never seen them that good. deffinatly ready to be added into my runs. way overdue. so im pumped about that.

i agree
Your next task: Go to the bathroom.
Wash your face.
Put your shoulders hunched upwards.
Look really, really slowly upwards towards the mirror like in the movies
And slap yourself in the face.
With your game face on.
And go shred with jim.
It'll work, trust me.

it was hit in '98 I think. Yeah and since then it's been going downhill. I bet blurriest swirl is a harder trick actually. I would think a double downing swirl is a harder component that the furious would be as an uptime for the nemesis. Meh. It's still damned impressive when someone gets it for the first time. It's like PS whirl and . . . infinity b2b. Milestone.

 Whirl>drifter

It's so much harder for me to do a straight up whirl than it is to do it it from ripwalk or ducking or infinity

the whirl>drifter took me a lot of tries, probably too many but i really just wanted to do it.

i found which side is the weak side, but i drilled it equally, i didnt hit any of the same highlights as the one side. then again i didnt even try although i should have.

Props! Aren't DLO's by default hit from toe, thus you don't need the 'toe' description?

nah you can do it from clipper. Clip set > opp in (dex) > opp out (dex) > same toe (delay)

nice work advancing on whirl, Ben. It's like living proof why it's okay not to rush tricks with an already solid guiltless game formed. I like to think the day I figure out blender like you did whirl I'll get pdx and food and all sorts of crazy variants relatively soon after.

you told me when your break is but I forgot - when is it again?

haha yeah I totally slept with my arbor pintail the day I got it. In my room. My bed's pretty small and the tail would probably break a hole in the wall. So instead I propped it up against the wall and stared longingly into its bearings until the sun rose and I could ride it. . . . on the road.

toe whirl  bs?

From the skateboarding thread:

oh, and how sweet it is.

when i opened it and saw those glamorous pink retro big zigs...i was like...oh, YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

im currently living at a hotel for a few days and its snowing out so i cant ride outside. but i did ride through the halls a little bit ;) it was pretty sweet and although there was only 50 feet of concrete to ride on i could feel how much fun im going to have riding this. i was doing some pumping and it was amazing. ive never felt anything like it. im in love.
