EVERYONE: Please look at the first post. The things marked in red have changed recently. The dinner place for Friday night has been added, and the Sat. shred spot has CHANGED from Tony's to the Oceanside Pier.

Video cameras, needed.
I have a friend who doesn't kick who is going to shoot one day. Either Sunday or saturday. We will see. He is a great editor and all around good guy. So, I like to have another person who has a camera shoot as well. I don't have one or anyone in San Diego Scene. So if some one could bring one it be cool. I will be taking pictures too
So no worries.
Also I have internet for people who need it.

I'll be bringing a camera. it's mini DV and I'll have four tapes to use. I don't know how much filming (if any) I'll do, but if you just need the camera, your more then welcome to use it, since your putting Cale and I up for a night. Bu yeah. We're leaving tomorrow, and I'm just now starting to understand the epicness (It's a word) of the bus ride. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

This morning I woke up after having a nightmare about packing for this weekend, which is what I'm doing now. It's only a nightmare because I have a dentist appointment in 8 hours.

I'll be bringing my cam, but probably won't film much.

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

me and yogan sadly perished on the epic bus ride of hell back to oregon.... our legs fell off and now we cant play footbag for a month....
...in all seriousness though, yogan got sick, and my left foot swelled up randomly like a balloon...... im sort of freaked out. i need to wear insoles.
but all in all it was worth it..... playing with new people (i.e. people ive never met) is always a blast, and seeing friends i made in chicago was sweet as well. thank you so much tony for letting us stay at your house, and thanks scott and richie for the rides around. footbag rules.

Hey Aaron,Maraxus wrote:Updates please!!!
This past weekend was a BLAST! I was on antibiotics and codeine from walking pneumonia but that didn't stop me from going to the Jam. I was ecstatic that there were girls there with skills. We had our own femme circle w/ Robyn (u know Robyn/Damon), Emily from Santa Cruz and Anne from Denmark. Last time we kicked w/ you, I was still struggling with toe stalls and leg overs. I can now do pick ups and mirages comfortably and my rip walks and butterflies are starting to click. I hit toe set-to ducking-clipper in front of the girls. I was also trying to go for toe set to ducking whirl but the ball rolled off of my clipper. Regardless, I had the time of my life. There were about 7 or 8 , 4-5 man circles and we took the whole floor in front of the amphitheater stage at Oceanside Pier drawing in a crowd of spectators. People were doing c-r-a-z-y add moves. Some guy named Evan was doing 8 add moves- I don't know what it's called but I'm sure the other guys will fill you in. We had a sick 3 and sick trick competition which Evan won and played 2 man Rip It as well. It was about a 6 hour session at the beach on Saturday . Half the people went to Soup Plantation afterwards and the older folks headed out to Damon's house in Oceanside for dinner made by Cameron (who made BOMB ASS mac n cheese, brocolli n chickn/apple sausage).
Everyone trickled in at the home by the evening and there were about 20+ people kicking in the kitchen and dining area for a couple more hours-probably longer since we left after a few hours.
It was a rush to be amidst people of all skill levels and passion for the sport.
Sunday was just as fun and going strong despite the soreness. I missed Monday cuz I had to go back to work
We wished you were there. We have some footage of everyone's moves but I think someone from Santa Cruz will be putting it all together.
Well, this is my little tid bit.

Much thanks and appreciation to the organizers and Damon for hosting this event.
Evan hit crazy solid runs, and stuff like pixie atomic whirling swirl in contests.
My best combination of the weekend was the macaroni and cheese dinner plates, but for not playing for almost 2 years I did okay at the hackysack too.
I wish Aaron could have made it there, it would have been nice to see him again too.

Let's set the record straight. <<< Richie I'm looking at you (inside joke)
Thanks should go to Emily and Tony for communicating and organizing the event. Special thanks to Richie for making quality footbags available to players for purchase.
And special special thanks to Anne, Scott, Mike Hansen, Emily, Aidan, Mike Adcock, and Richie for making my Sunday night a little less drama filled!
Highlights:
Evan is a monster. So is Ben! The old folks home took a beating from these 2 quality players. We saw so many skills this weekend and I enjoyed meeting and playing with everyone I could. There are photos that will go up later (once I get them in my hot little hands).
Black Jack & Steve Goldberg graced us with their presence as well. All in all it was a blast and I look forward to many more Jam sessions in SD.

Thanks so much to everyone who showed up at Oceanside this weekend, and especially to those people who made it possible!!!
It was a blast. The most fun I've had in a long long time!!!
I really hope to see you all again at some point - who knows... maybe US Open, if I change my flight home...
It was an awsome jam and it was really wonderful meeting you all!

Nice pictures, thanks for posting. Ha, Steve and I are looking good in there.
We had about 25 people show up to the jam. Not a bad turn out. Besides some red faces (and arms, necks, and legs) at the end of the event, I think everyone walked away happy.
Richard will post the results and winning tricks soon.
