Cyborgs
I really want to be one. Maybe one day I'll be able to replace loads of parts of my body with superior robotic things. That'd be so good.
Oliver Adams
Personally, I would opt for nanites in my bloodstream that push my body's natural abilities to superhuman levels without compromising my rugged good looks.
Of course, financially, bulky metal prosthetics may be a more realistic option for my limited budget. I would avoid government sponsored experimental cybernetic fittings because I would fear becoming a tool for their dirty work. Then there's the probability that other people may make tons of money about my story of being a mindless top secret cybernetic assassin regaining full control and fighting for my freedom and eventually living on an isolated colony at the far end of the galaxy scavenging outdated or alien technology just to prolong my miserable career of being the most feared intergalactic bounty hunter.
Yeah.

the idea of that doesnt appeal to me, what if you could be hacked? I personally cant wait for holographic screens that can pop out of my awesome cool wrist computer band, that doubles for a watch!
Your next task: Go to the bathroom.
Wash your face.
Put your shoulders hunched upwards.
Look really, really slowly upwards towards the mirror like in the movies
And slap yourself in the face.
With your game face on.
And go shred with jim.
It'll work, trust me.

Thats so funny -- I never ever thought of my seeing-glasses as an integrated piece of technology that improves my physical abilities. It is an interesting way of looking at eye-glasses (though, I doubt it actually meets the specific definition of cybernetics.)sniikeri wrote:I wear glasses when I read.
Anyway, that little bit of perspective leads me to another funny way of looking at something -- I'm getting laser vision correction surgery soon so I won't need eye-glasses or contact lenses any more. It never would have occurred to me before, but now I guess that means that I'm actually getting a downgrade instead of an upgrade.

Yeah I saw that dude on discovery channel years back. Fairly awesome.Anz wrote:I read about one man who's a cyborg. Mobile phone is also one fairly integrated part of a modern western individual. And it definitely improves our ability to speak with each other across long distances.Outsider wrote:Thats so funny -- I never ever thought of my seeing-glasses as an integrated piece of technology that improves my physical abilities. No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

Tell me how it goes. I've wanted Lasik for a long time because I'm afraid civilization might crumble at any moment and I wont be able to get anymore contacts at the doctor and will be left to hit on girls in a post-apocoliptic world with my glasses on. What post-apocoliptic girl is going to want a four eyes right? WHAT IF THE FUTURE OF OUR RACE DEPENDS ON ME GETTING LASIK?I'm getting laser vision correction surgery soon so I won't need eye-glasses or contact lenses any more. It never would have occurred to me before, but now I guess that means that I'm actually getting a downgrade instead of an upgrade.
