I like my bags with a tight gather, but since you're beginning, I recommend loose. Bags typically become more stally and break-in a bit faster with loose gather. Having a loose gather does make for a bigger bag in this regard, so you should ask Richie for a size comparison if you're not sure what you're going for in product design.

Also ask for the heaviest weight possible. Around 50 grams should do the trick. That's why a personalized e-mail would be more helpful/insightful than that request form, since I think it's a bit outdated. It's probably only good for reference.

Also ask for the "Fearless 55" if you can't choose any good colors or patterns. It's a work of art.

if you're going to get an abshire, and you feel that you can keep it clean and not be too rough with it, I recommend an amaretta fearless 55. those feel sooo nice.

ive have an abshire bag and ive played with a clavens bag. i thinks the abshire takes a really long time to break in. i think i like clavens bags better. but my abshire bag is not fully broken in.

all my opinion here, but anyway:

i think you should get lavers first and a mr. sandbag.

but, if you are intent on getting a 32 panel footbag, get a facile one. it will last a lot longer and survive whatever you might throw at it trying to learn new moves.

if you go facile, i think an abshire will take way too long to break in, if you want a bag you can play with right away. my abshires took months to break in, get one from another respected stitcher - dave is a good choice.

honestly, you will get a lot of replies from people telling you that they themselves stitch a good bag, and most aren't lying. this is one place where you will have to use your judgment, because there are tons of people to choose from.

I think I disappoint a lot of people because I'm such a slow ass stitcher. But that's partly because I want to use that time to play footbag and concentrate on whatever I need to do for college.
