Wine
Hey Somaliers and amateurs,
What can you guys tell me about your favorite wines?
Tell me a red you like... merlot, cabernet, blend, etc
Tell me a white you like... chard, sauvignon blanc, white zin, etc.
Tell me its flavor profile. Tell me what you like to pair it with.
What have you learned about wines? Why did you learn it? Why is there such big money in it?
Tell me whatever you want. Maybe if you like tannins (tanic acid dries out your tongue), if you like suble oak from casks,
what are some of your fav vintage wines.
Tell me anyhing about wine.
Try not to whine though.

Port is really fucking good, and pretty strong too. I think it's usually around 20% alchohol volume or so. But it's really sweet and tastes really fucking good and if I had a few bottles I'd drink them all right now.
White wine is really good too, especially when it's been on ice.
Fuck I want a drink.

I have a bottle of port from Napa Valley in the other room that I'm saving for a decent occasion. I'm not a big wine guy but I will drink it with dinner when there is a good pairing for it (ie. seafood, fish for white or steak / filet mignon for red). It is definately an acquired taste; I actually used to hate wine but I'm starting to warm up to it a bit. I usually don't spend over 15 bucks a bottle at the liquor store though since I can't tell the difference.

Red wine, whiskey, bourbon ect give worse hang overs than vodka, gin (oh the horror), white wine. Read the link above to find out why...

I like most pinot grigios. Inniskilin is cheaper in ontario so I drink that a lot. I like Santa Margherita, I know there are better Italian pinots but it's super popular and easy to find.
Red I am less hot on. Not a huge fan of shirazs but most new to wine love the fruity flavour. I have been diggin Argento reds recently though.
I don't worry about pairing wine and food. Drink what tastes good to you as you would eat what tastes good to you.
Go to wine tastings, they are fun and usually end in being drunk
