just watched parts of WTS again. That's a good fil'm. I really hope I can make it to this year's worlds. Some day it'll take place in the NE and I'm going to be incredibly excited. 04 would've been doable but I didn't know if I was going to actually keep playing freestyle at that time.

had a shitty session today. Aww

now it's time to shut off the footbag portion of my brain (about 75% of it) and try and do some work. Awww

the water balloon fight could have been cut I think or at least trimmed and the foursquare could be half as long. But the interviews and the random jokes were amazing. And it was really well edited.

My friend Adam and I got into a pseudo argument today about frisbee vs. hacky sack (I was mostly joking so I called it hacky sack). It got heated so we both decided to agree on the fact that ultimate and hack are equally meant for losers.

I'd like to mention that I played ultimate for like . . . 6 years. And then it got to competitive and to be honest it's not all that hard. I hate the hardcore people in disc games.

it was funny anyway because I saw him on his skateboard and I was like "ADAM! YOU SKATE!" and he was like "PAT! COME PLAY ULTIMATE!" and I'm like "No. . . I'm on my way to play some hacky sack. . Frisbee is for college hippies." and poof we were off and runnin' with the insults. So finally he made fun of me for wearing g-units and left to go play with his discus dickheads. Oh sick burn.

I would say that I did pretty well in our last session pat. I did some serious kicking and definitely improved my right outside kick and improved my left leg kicks overall. I have much much more control now. And I am so close to hitting around the world and mirage!!! RAWR!

i need to figure out what other music i should get for when we hack...

meh. I'm fine with screaming music. It may help me push myself to hit more intense strings for once. And I'm pretty sure for the first time since I've played footbag without someone really good that our little shred area was FEARED and respected.

but mostly feared.

@ Ben because I don't care to write a new PM. I can't do the online comps because I don't have a camera. Unless I go home for the weekend or something and break down your door and we do them with your camera.

as a gross side note I think I'm getting a planter's wart on my foot.

It's either that or it's just pinched a nerve at one part of my foot from slamming down on it hard playing on the balls of my feet. Either way this spot on my foot hurts a lot. And if it turns out to be a planters wart then that's going to ruin my day. The last time I got one of those was ages ago before footbag but I distinctly remember getting it removed and having to limp in pain while it healed.

dood my band is playing at Geneseo at 11:30 AM on the Saturday of GRASS (4/19) I'm psyched, I hope I can get some baggers to come check it out and get paul to schedule competition for a little later in the afternoon.

edit: oh yeah, now I remember why I started this post... When Worship the Shred came out, it seemed like those that were there REALLY valued its length and in-depth coverage, and those that weren't there found it really boring. I've been trying to get sam to provide me a copy of his worlds trilogy on DVD for a while now, but he won't do it! I would love that...

anyway, just wanted to comment on that.

Our badass zord will fly/run/crush its way cross 90West and we'll make it to Rochachaheister, trying to fight the urge to stop at a rest stop and have Doug and I shred battle.

We'll be about 6 hours late because Ben and I are together in a car so we'll show up just as people are either getting drunk or nursing sore legs. or both.

I usually play for 2 hours. Sometimes a little more. Sometimes I have a bad day and I'll play for 20 minutes before throwing the bag at my pants on the other side of the <room> and storm off to the drinking fountains. It's very obvious I don't HAVE to play for that long. I estimate that as long as it's over an hour and just about every day/every other day improvement can be made.

but

2 hours or 2.5 hrs of solo shred is just about as much as my legs can handle at a time and I'd really like to use as much as I can.

footbag is still really really fun to me and I still maintain that I play, not because I'm training, but because I enjoy it and there's room (heh heh heh) for improvement.

I made this decision not to cut down how long I play for last night and so I wanted to get this down in the blog. It's taken me a few attempts to get the above two graphs to be short and simple. So that's all I really wanted to say. Oh and this:

runs where every time I bailed to ss butterfly or ducking clipper I immediately moved into stepping shuffle.

spinning whirl has never actually been hit. Strange, I know. But I actually tried to do it the other day and footed it first time on my flipside. And then again. And then on my strong. So I guess you can add this to reasons why me taking a stupid amount of time staying guiltless pays off AGAIN. So you'd better believe I'll bsos spinning whirl today when I play. I'm also going to try to hit flip mobius.

okay enough "what I'm going to do"s.

I think I'm going to leave my blog with a chinese proverb each entry. Because I watched Blood of the Dragon last night and I'm really really feeling the whole Chinese-ity.

Yeah marius was kind of a spur of the moment "hey my spins are on right now" kind of deal. It landed on the "instep" of my calf and kind of flopped off. Pretty close. If I spun a little harder the other way (pdx) I may have been able to genuinely foot it.

the bag I made, ABP, is really big now. It broke in more and you can tell it's uneven in parts.

so now it's time to start on #5. The panels will be cut out tomorrow. Jason also wants to start stitching so I'll do what I can with that.

I'm listening to this band I've been looking around for for a while. Fugazi. It's with the lead singer from Minor Threat, Ian MacKay(e) and it's really good actually. They call themselves post hardcore punk, but by saying they're "post" they mean they're moving AWAY from hardcore and trying to form a new kind of punk. . . again. . . but it's kind of interesting. Ian said he wanted to form a band that would embody "The Stooges with Reggae" and I have to say they did a pretty good job. It's very stooges and just odd and experimental in parts. Definitely rooted in punk. But so different from anything else even CLOSE to being produced in the late 80s, early 90s.

so yeah. If you think you may like that, check it out. Pretty cool stuff.

anyway I've got more work to do. Modified break. I'm going to put on the units later today and play methinks. I've got a few things I want to work on.

overall, though it was a pretty bad session. I felt the energy, and when I did strings they were easy and some good things were done. But for some reason halfway through I just completely lost all ambition. My knees started to hurt a little on every drifter run because I'm playing more on my heels in g-units and it's starting to hurt. I hope I don't get shin splints. That's usually would comes right after noticing heel-play pain.

forgot to mention I did a midstring double pickup in front of the douchey soccer players walking passed. They flinched.

oh and is it alright if I did a terraging ducking legover instead of pickup? Oh and how about frontside nemesistein? I think that's a pretty stylie footbag trick.

happy edit: my brother told me he'll buy me a webcam. . . for no real reason other than I guess it's kind of pathetic for someone who's online all the time (
