Super Smash Bros Brawl

Post by Aether »

I have to ask, who else is as excited as I am?

I cannot wait until this game comes out!

The main characters I am wanting to try out of the new ones are Pit and Dedede and Metaknight. But I do want to see if my best characters from melee are still good, namely Peach (my best) and Ganondorf and Jigglypuff.

There have to be some other people here that are into Smash right?

I played a ton of smash last year in the dorms, great game. Peach and Capt. Falcon are uber, but I play Kirby for fun

This game is going to be great, I never realized, until I began playing consistently, how sensitive and all the combos in the game.

There are leagues and tournaments all over the place, some of my friends were really into it last year and started competing on a national level.

Yeah I have some friends I play with back home (not here at college, everyone here sucks) that play in tournies and stuff. I am not quite that good but almost. But I am only THAT competitive with Peach. I play pretty much any other character pretty effectively, my secondarys being Jigglypuff, Yoshi, Ganondorf, Falcon and Luigi. I try to mix it up and use everyone and get decent with everyone, even Pichu and Ice Climbers, who I hate.

And about Kirby being fun, I lvoe taking people off the edge with his forward throw. Pisses people off but its good fun :P

I'm angry that they kept moving it back. God, I feel like I've waited forever for it to come out. The subspace emissary or whatever its called looks pretty sweet, it's cool that they added some sort of story mode into it. I play mostly with Link because he rawks, and I've just gotten used to his style. The new characters look awesome, especially Pit and Sonic. I can't wait to play over the internet, that'll be cool. Way better than just vs. mode over and over again, haha.

I honestly believe I could play competitive Smash for the N64.

Gamecube smash was trash.

You, sir, are wrong. :P kidding, to each his own.

But yeah the Subspace Emissary mode looks absolutely amazing. I am going to jump straight into that when I get it. Princess Peach and I are going to rock that game!

And about the wavedash, i use it in Melee when i get really competitive, but I don't much care for it. I am kind of happy it is out personally. Evens out the playing field a bit, which is nice since I don't enjoy crushing everyone that isn't at my level. I think it will make the game more fun for newer people, but really good players will still be able to be way ahead.

Once it comes out we should exchange friend codes and play each other. That'd be sweet.

Bah, don't even bother taking that one back. 64 smash was good, but there's no way you can say melee was bad. Danny, you're starting to make me think you don't like any sequels...just can't seem to believe anything is better than the original? (I may be wrong, but from your opinions on games that's a trend I've noticed.)

With Luigi wavedash was pretty useful, so I'm sure I'm going to miss it. But I agree that removing wavedash and L-cancel will even out the characters and players. A few of my friends already tried the new game on their modded Wiis, just to check it out. Not enough to really tell which characters will be good and which ones not, since they were just trying them all out. But they did say the game was atleast as good as melee.

I really hope the network game will work well enough to play, I'm a bit sceptic with lag and timing. I'll definately be giving it a go in any case. Too bad it's only coming to Europe sometime during the summer :(

I will crush you all at Brawl

good players will still be good despite some of the old techniques being removed. In any case there are a ton of news ones being discovered already. I think they did an amazing job balancing the characters this time around. Fox and Marth will not hold the top spots alone.

Yeah, MLG has SSBM national tournaments, for tens of thousands of dollars. MLG is mainly known for their huge national Halo tournaments though.

I've had this game reserved well... I think a day or two after you were able to reserve them at GameStop.

Simply can't wait to try it out. Not as big of a SSBM junky as I used to be, but this game will revive that lost spirit within me. ^_^ First character I want to expand with is Mr. Game n Watch. Number 1 character from SSBM, nothing is greaty than the power of the watch man. He's so GG. I'm sure my favorite character will change with the new selection of course.

First off, always go with GameStop. You're guarenteed the first available copy.

Secondly, they have to refund your $25, I'd try getting in contact with the parent company or the store owner. They can be sued pretty heavily for taking money for services they don't complete. -_-

One time, I reserved a copy of Halo 3 at Wal-Mart, and they didn't have any copies when i got there, and after the first night, reservations don't mean shit for some reason. Dumb, I know, but this is the Wal-Mart I live by, and it sucks. So anywho, I tell them I want a refund of my $10 that I paid for the reservation, so that I can go accross the street to GameStop and buy my copy there, because they still had over 100x Legendary versions that weren't even reserved. They said no, so I raised some hell with the store manager and I walked out with my $10, and a $10 Wal-Mart gift card. Wal-Mart will do anything to keep it's customers. =)
