Basketball Game tonight.
To get you up to speed: I am on a team with 7 mediocre and average height white kids. We should be the worst team in the league. However, somehow, we play well down the stretch in EVERY GAME (we are 3-1, won by 1 point, 3 points, 1 point, and lost in double overtime by 1 point) If we win this game, we clinch at least a TIE for first place. The team we are playing has three outstanding players (coincidentally the only 3 black kids in the league) and the rest are average. We shouldnt win.
So we start off really slow, i only had 1 point in the first half. My shot was way off, ended up getting 4 assists. We trail 21-31 at the half.
half time we do the usual "start playing better" chat. 2nd half starts.
I take it up, dish it off, set a pick, roll to the baseline, knock down a jumper. Down 8.
A few possessions later we are down 4. We continue to be down by 2, 4, or 8 for the next 12 minutes. I grab a board, take it coast to coast for lay up, down two. Immediately after that I stole the in bound pass and got the bucket and 1. three point play. up 1. a few possessions later i pick off a pass and take an uncontested lay up. we kept the lead and held them off for the rest of the game, and won 59-53.
it was such a great feeling. This was my first game back from my ankle injury (still cant shred) and it showed.
My stat line:
10 points
7 assists
5 boards
also, i held the best player in the league to 0 points, and acquired a mere ZERO fouls.
what a great day.

Thats cool that your playing b-ball. I think many footbaggers get caught in the just footbag mode for sports, and there are so many other great things out there as well. Keep up the cross training. Get your ankle better. Come to the University of illinois this spring and/or summer and shred. Stay off the street and keep those scholarly grades up.
oh and props on the 5 rebounds.

ankle still sucks
I can't crank it at all. But i played for the first time in almost 2 months today.
Stuff i worked on:
tiltless
getting my healthy ankle back into footbag shape, my crank on that ankle isn't as flat as before, gotta work it every day.
stuff i did:
98 contacts toe tiltless
128 ss mirages, all muted

my ankle feels like i might be able to shred in a few weeks, if i keep taking care of it (ie: less basketball)

I'll sacrifice a live goat with my shred shoes on my sacrificial altar, and poor 3 libations of Gatorade to wish you better health.
Take care Henry.

don't give up on your ankle. Keep it moving. What ever the injury was it should have healed by now. What you need now is to do a slow progression of exercises to get the motion back. It may hurt, but eventually it will feel much better, though maybe not 100% again. Be gentle and go slow.

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.
