Pretty pumped about this because shuffle in general has always been a weak part of my game, but lately both toe and clipper shuffle have been getting so much better. Rubber and blubber are on the brain lately.

Had a short session outside yesterday until God blew a gale-force gust that knocked my mats up into the air and scattered them, and the weather started taking a turn for the worse. We've had a lot of crazy weather here. Anyway, during my brief session on the church steps I hit a lot of cool pixie drills, most of which are first time.

Ylegh. That's how I've felt for the past few weeks. It's like if it's not one thing, it's another lately. Over the weekend I pulled my back a little while carrying boxes for my TV stand. So I couldn't shred with Ken, and then my stomach's been out of wack for like 3 days. I swear if my HEALTH can stay consistantly better, then I'll get some shred accomplished.
Another short sesh, worked on pixie stuff some more. Hit a few sailing sets but I realized that it was messing with my natural atomic ability so I want to shelf that set at least until I hit rubberman or somethin. Hit a few fairy moves, just kinda tried to get the blood flowing today. Hit the dyno>torque highlight after a bunch of tries. That combo is deceptively hard for me. Like osis>torque isn't a big deal, but my dyno set tends to travel just a LITTLE bit higher than the osis, making it difficult to clear the torque dex. Oh well, I'm happy I hit it. Also hit plo>smear>rpt, and the plo>rpt drill a few times, got to 9 contacts again.
Oh and I fixed my quantum sets. They were getting funky and kinda thin for some reason, probably because I'm so beat up lately, but I've kinda stumbled across the 'set to your dex' philosophy lately. I'll work more on that. I'm just going to pray for good health tonight. I think I deserve it at this point lol.

Couple of sessions today. First session was solo, worked on toe game again, hit a few runs with pixie and quantum toe moves amongst them, never QUITE got into the flow for some reason but had a semi-decent session overall. Big highlight for that session was gyro diving clipper bs. That move is FUN
Kinda easier than spinning ducking clipper really.
Second session was with Dashel and his girlfriend. Hopefully they'll be coming to Adrienne's jam. That was fun, Dashel's got this crazy style where he mixes in capoiera into footbag, it's really wild to watch. This was his gf's second session ever, and he got her quantums and an abihire, it's kinda funny to get that for a girl just starting out. But anyway she hit a bunch of toe stalls, at one point got 3 in a row.
I hit some decent little runs, but the lighting where we were at was terrible so I never hit anything too huge. I hit blender like first try after seeing dashel do it. I've hit that before as well, but blenders are so hard for me to wrap my mind around for some reason. I tried for blur>atom a bunch, footed it like literally 7 times or something silly but I think I've even hit that before, which was even lamer. I'm really itching for rubberman lately so I'm still going to keep schooling the components for it every session.
Edit: Oh I almost forgot the most important highlight from the second session, 56 consecutive clippers on strong side, beating my previous record by 6

Session after work today. Another mediumish-length session. Legs were kinda sore as was the rest of my body, I'm doing some ab and sides training right now. Highlights:
58 Consecutive flip clippers- New record!
33 Contacts of butter>pdx mir>rpt- Definitely a record for me
blur>atom smasher- Gonna try to hit every other component to rubberman next session
6 Consecutive Ducking Clippers- No where near a record, but I'm going to work on this more.
Gyro Diving Clipper- Not Lon-worthy by any means lol, but decent enough take, especially since the whole spin/duck thing is still new. I believe the key to a clean spin/duck is to set the bag the perfect height, and be right there for the duck when it's at that height. That's very challenging. You may have to watch it 3 times to even see the duck, I know I did haha.
Shred with KEN tomorrow!!

it looks like you need to set it a little lower, and get the spin off a little quicker without taking so many steps, but your new to it, so I can understand. Keep it up

Yeah I kinda figured that out after I'd watched the vid myself, but I didn't feel like doing it over because it was at the end of the session. I was initially using the lamp as a guide for centering the frame of my camera, but now I'm like, well the outlet would've worked just as well haha.Benzilla wrote:yay a video!
The dive is kinda hard to see. I watched thae dive separately like 10 times. I take your word for it.
I'd suggest moving that lamp just a bit to the side, that was what pretty much made the dive a tad invisible.
other than that it looked really nice.
Oh well, I'm most likely going to be taking more video highlights in the future with my real camera so hopefully it won't be a problem. I do want to clean that move up some more too so that the bag goes directly over my neck and looks like a regular dive after the spin. The vid was really more for my own purposes to work on cleanliness, but I figured it was worth posting just cuz it's such a neat move.

Excellent session with Ken tonight. Traffic on the way there was rough, and parking was even tougher, but once I got there it was well worth it.
We both started warming up really slowly with a lot of kicks, and even got a few rallys which was neat. I had a really solid session and the work I did this week leading up to it is what made the difference. I had a lot of little runs starting with pixie, then going into a few clipper moves and back into pixie from like pdx mirage n stuff. Nothing mind-blowing or anything but just solid improvement which is always a plus.
Honestly there weren't even that many stand-out highlights, but I just felt like everything was just a little more controlled dialed. Had a couple of 15 contact guiltless at the end...Oh at one point I hit QLO>Smudge and then after Smudge>QLO so that was neat.
The real highlight of the session for me was when Ken imparted some priceless advice on a concept that I've always had a lot of trouble with, and it worked IMMEDIATELY. I'm really excited to implement this into my game and I know it's going to help me up my game a ton this year. I'm not going to even say what it is, because I'd rather just focus on dialing it before I count my chickens so to speak.
Anyway, it's pi day according to Ken and his gf but more importantly it's St. Patrick's day weekend. I'm probably doing absolutely nothing tonight though, maybe have a beer with Dashel he called. It's already kinda late and I'm a little beat from the sesh. Very stoked about today though.

Wow 5 days without footbag. That sucked. I've been crazy busy this week and just tired and going to sleep. This weekend will be an awesome break, with the tournament and Easter.
One hour power session with Ken. He had plans with his girlfriend tonight so that's all we could afford. I still felt great about the session. It started off really slow, but then just kept increasing throughout.
At the end I was busting 10+ contact guiltless runs pretty frequently and a lot of different concepts within them. The longest run of the night was only 16 contacts, but again it was a pretty short sesh. The biggest highlight was an 11 contact run with fear, smear, ripwalk, toe blur, and legbeater kick haha. I tried to go for as many sets within one run as possible. I had a bunch of starts with fear>butter>rip, and I really think that fear is getting stronger and will be a reliable bail soon.
Anyway, I think I'm ready for this weekend shred wise and I'm hoping things will be less busy in the upcoming weeks.
