After the story I heard about your (pl) trip to the SoCali Jam, I'd say maybe you should play this one a little safer. ;-) I'm sure he has at least one day off a week. Since he works in a bar, you know that he's old enough to be able to get transportation to meet you somewhere that's not the parking lot of a bar.

Janis asked why i would be sad if he was a genuine player. I would be sad because we Cale and I blew a session we had planned with him off. Though i did email him and tell him i couldn't make it, so whatever. Anyways, we'll call him next time we play and see if he would like to join us.

It's written Bow Staff, GOSH!

A bit has happened since i last posted. Lets start with developments in life.

At school in my American Studies class we had an awesome discussion about the Bread and Roses Strike of the 1800's. All the stuff that went down during that pivotal time was pretty intense. The dynamite conspiracies, the murders, the arrests, everything is really interesting. Our class is required to read a book on it, which is actually pretty good.

Anywho, my math is looking up. I got some help from the teacher, and I'm starting to understand it, though it's still a bit vague. I'll just have to keep getting help when i get stuck, but i know i can get through it.

I joined our Schools first sports team, which just happens to be an Ultimate Frisbee team coached by my favorite teacher (Who also teaches my Drama class AND American Studies) For our practice games i had to guard the fastest kid at school. He's taken gymnastics, and is super buff. Like if you ask him at school to do a back flip, or a front flip, he'll just say "Ok" and do it. It's crazy. But anyway, it's a crazy workout staying on him. But i managed to make a few good blocks while guarding him, which i'm a bit proud of. Ultimate is awesome, and I'm glad I'm getting into it more.

Had a session with Cale on Friday. We filmed our sick1's for the online comp. We both hit new fives for us, so that was cool. He seemed to be a bit out of practice, but he got back into it. I had one good run that had to have been upwards of 30 contacts. Later that night i had a solo session in my living room, and decided i would start on the training program Anssi gave me. The new concept I'm learning is Eggbeaters, and the other concept I'm drilling is drifters. I guess I'll just post what I'm doing to drill them.

Eggbeaters: 10 repeats of the trick, good attempts count (Hit my first five Eggbeaters)

Drifters: 10 repeats of trick on both sides. Hit Drifter>Drifter (Finally!)

I'm going to increase the number of repeats i do for drifter my next session. That way I can train myself to become more consistent with the trick.

Oh yeah, my rev-swirling is getting pretty good, came close to Rev-up BSOS, starting from both sides. I also hit a sick new five.

 Rev-swirling Symposium Whirl

That trick feels really cool.

Went to the last of my sisters Basketball games. I'm glad the seasons over. It was a really close game throughout. Both teams were always within one basket to the other. It ended up being a tie, which everybody seemed satisfied with. There was the idea of a pizza party floating around, but my dad quickly shot it down (Bam! )

My Lavers still haven't arrived. They were sent out on the 14th of February. I can't believe how long it's taking them to get here. Ugh.

Hope i have the motivation to play tomorrow. It kinda comes and go's in waves.

Well, thats pretty much everything for now, except for my thoughts on American Idol, and Halo 3, and Video Games in general, and Parkour, and personal identity. But thats all for future posts. Be seeing you.

Ok, I'm at some kind of crossroads in my life, maybe. I'm not really sure what i should call it, but it feels really weird. Now not many people here know about this, but I play Piano. Been playing for 6 years, though i stopped lessons like a year ago. I'm being urged by everyone to get back into it, but i just don't know. I'll post a vid of me playing like later today possibly, so you can get an idea for how bad i am  . I've always really wanted to write music, but I'm retarded when it comes to music lingo. I can read really basic sheet music, but i still have no idea what I'm doing when i improvise, but i think it sounds good. Anyways, more thoughts on this later, I'm going to go pick up my Lavers at the Post office, they finally came! :D

Be seeing you later today.

Talk to Nasty Nate Linscott about the music stuff. He'll send you in the right direction. I played piano for 4 years then quit and now I regret it.

I keep hearing that. There must be something to this whole piano thing.

Heres a vid of me playing the piano.

I know i mess up a few times in there, but i always screw up when I'm playing for the camera.

Just wanted to give you props again on rev swirling blender. that's a cool trick. I just started trying those and putting them in strings last week.

I know you just hit these tricks, but rev swirling symp whirl>rev swirling blender would be a sick link. and it's repeatable :P

Haven't posted here for awhile, but anyway heres whats going on.

Footbag is taking a backseat to everything else.

I've been doing a lot of thinking, and i think (Redundant, i know) that footbag is no longer that important to me. It's not that bad, i mean it was way fun in the beginning, and i'm glad i was able to spend so much time with it. But i think it's time to take a break. I find myself being interested in free running (parkour) and video games more-so then footbag these days, and my time is being occupied by things that i feel are more important then footbag. I guess you could say this is kinda like a farewell post, or something like it. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not quitting, just kinda letting it go for a while. I might become as on fire for it as i used to be, we'll see. I'm pretty content with where my games at, and i don't feel like i can improve, or that i should improve. So i think I'll just sit back and focus on the things that i think are worth spending the time on, which unfortunately footbag is not a part of.

Be seeing you guys around. Cheers

Play the piano more than footbag, at least there is something applicable to real life in it. You can go 1000 different ways with music career-wise or just for fun and you will never beat Vasek.

I've been playing for about a year, self taught. I don't know *that* much, but if you ever want to have a rap sesh about piano or music, I'm down. Let's play Halo again some time soon

and then there was one player in the rogue valley. what happened man? honestly, you have SO much potential. why would you quit? i dont buy the whole "letting it go for awhile" thing. when people say that, they stop. dude, you honestly have more potential with footbag than freerunning. ou have crazy ankle flexibility and control.... and you didnt have the guts to do a few of the simple stuff at the park. dude, just stick with it, we are so getting there! just be patient and you will see.... you can be sooo much better. hope i spoke something that will help. later dude.

hey eoghan,

breaks happen, interests and focus shifts.

I've been off footbag playing for a while now, I'm really looking forward to playing when the weather is nice around here again.

Footbag is whatever you want it to be. Listen to yourself.

Ok, heres the thing, one of the reasons I've been off of footbag is that these huge planters warts are being treated on the bottom of my left foot. The doctor puts acid on them then i have to wait for over a week before it doesn't hurt to walk, then wait a little more before i can footbag at all. Anyway I've gotten back into footbag, but I'm not posting on modified any more, or at least not nearly as much as i used to. I think i spent to much time on this forum, and i think i need to distance myself from this community, just for a little while, and focus completely on me and my footbag game. I want to improve as much as humanly possible, i don't have a goal, other then i want to get better and better and better until i can't play any more. So there ya go. I still play frequently, i just don't post here as much as i used to.
