Is sex really as good as you initially think?

Post by Switch Kicker »

Though the question has been run through my head many times (Most often after sex.), I never really had any motivation to post the question until I read this quote in another topic I made.
slapdash21 wrote:i think for some reason i like oral more in my mind than i do in practice, because i thinki love getting oral, but im disappointed everytime i do. yeah, i definitely believe thats partly related to the abilities of those few who have actually made the mistake of so gratifying me, but i think almost nothing sexual is as good in reality as you imagine it being in your head, even after you first experience it.
I often find myself so attracted to someone that I would do crazy things just to have sex with them, just to find a weird feeling afterwards, of disatisfaction.

Sure, there's often very satisfactory sex. and then there's the crazy, "Oh my god I'm gonna die if I try to move a muscle." satisfactory sex, and that one's pretty rare in my experience. But pretty commonly, I find that after sex, I roll over, I stare at the ceiling, and I think, "That could've been better somehow." Or I just feel like... drained, and disinterested in anything at the time being, including the person I'm with.

I assume this as to be connected with hormones. I'm pretty sure that before sex, they're just going ape-shit, and after the "release" they all just... kick back and stop moving around, and then that makes you lose interest in anything sexual.

*Sexual information in the next couple lines - Just a heads up.*
Here's a good example, IMO. Before sex, I feel like I could do anything any girl asked me to (sexually.), and I mean anything. Afterwards, say it's a tag team kind a thing, "I do you, then you do me," I just lose any desire, or even the ability to endure something such as "eating out." All interest and desire goes out the window, and all of sudden paying the favor back feels like a chore.
*End of sexual information.*

So here's the question.

Do you ever, or often lose any or all interest in sexual activities after sex?

(Wow... didn't know you couldn't make poll topics in the Discussion section.)

Nah, the Modified community tends to bring forth more serious replies than most other forums I frequent.

Hm, surprised there wasn't a single serious response...

I've thought about this before too. It seems with males were hormonally (sp?) driven to desire sex to the extreme, but once we've done it, the objective is obtained. It's almost like a release for us. Once we're done, we're done, and it takes time to build up again. The seed has been spread. Whereas women seem to be able to go and go... personally I feel ripped off by this situation. Why am I given more desire and she's given more pleasure? That's stupid. Anyway, this is from my very limited sexual experience so I'd be interested to hear others opinions on this...

... Sounds like lack of taste, or a very open taste... I can't decide. Either way, I guess I meant to say it's not exactly disappointing.. but like.. You're no longer "excited" (not physically or emotionally), or blown away. Post sex (average, non-crazy-good sex) seems so... empty, like there's something missing... like there should be something after... and it's just blank... other than the desire for a cigarette even if you don't smoke.

Like, you enjoyed it and everything, and you can't wait to do it again and all... I really don't know how to explain this at all, ha ha. It's not disappointing, it's just empty somehow.

And I agree, guys are SOOO ripped off. Guys have just this shotgun blast of crazy ass desire, and it all just "BOOM!!!" and all the ammo's used in one giant blast (Puns intended), and then you're out of ammo, and you're like, "awww..." And then women are over there with fifty cal mounted chain gun with reserves of ammunition in the back of the humvey, just going ape-shit... knockin' shit over, bangin' your head against the head board of the bed... And the worst part... they controll EVERYTHING, sex related. She controlls when you get your 10 seconds of happy time, and she has the power to go to you for 45 minutes of happy time... It's garbage, lol. But then again, they have to endure pregnancy.

<.< I'm just rambling on here...

It's because it's pretty much a pointless activity.

Perhaps you are a homosexual.

Also, none of you seem to realize that you can go as long as you want....you must simply train. It is like the footbag we all so dearly love......you must skool your technique to hit a perfect routine ( though it should last longer than 2 minutes  ) Guys always seem to caught up in just sticking it in and pounding away. How boring is that.....you must find many ways to pleasure your woman, and all this will be reciprocated. Nothing make a woman want to blow/f%@$/whateverthefuckyoiuareinto than making her come over and over.

I'm sorry if this is to graphic, but honestly, the sexual ignorance I find amongst many of my own male friends, and I assume amongst some people out here in internet land, is staggering. It isn't suprising though, as sexual education is usually limited to telling you how horrible your life will be if you ever do it, or if you don't put a condom on right. Teaching caution and risk is important, but the 'risk' isn't even worth it if you go at it like a couple virginal newlyweds eveytime, and don't actually make the experience physically and emotionally worthwhile for both yourself and your partner.

P.S. I'm sure many people who read this already know what I'm talking about, and I'm sorry if I come across a little overbearing, but I'm sure something I said will educate at least someone, and maby make a couple other people think a little bit about what they do in the bedroom.

Nah, it is pretty much pointless. I often wish I was asexual because then I'd be so much more productive instead of dicking around talking to my friends about sex.

Personally, I don't think anything that makes me happy is pointless.

Yeah I thoroughly agree. And that was why I refrained from saying completely pointless and just said 'pretty much'. I basically mean in the same sense that people see video games as pointless. I don't really think it's completely pointless cos you do get entertainment, but for most purposes I can call it pointless and most people tend to agree. I think the same about sex.
