I hope that none of that is true(ecept the AA if really needed).
First of all let this whole thing be a lesson. You younger folks are becomming the face of footbag. This is a sport I love and respect,please do the same. When I here people tell me that they want too run a one day event because people want too party all night, this worries me. I am all for people experimenting and all that, please do not do it at footbag events. This whole thing is not about footbag,but alcohol and maybe other things.
If this is what you must do on sat nights please stay away from the sport I love, if for a particular sat night you can chill please get involed with footbag. There may be manny reasons too run a one day event, partying should not be one of them.
Except for the first statement none of the above is about any particular event.
Chris needing too quit footbag for a while is a personal choice, but I would not base the need on one bad drunk night. If this is and ongoing thing than you will need to make a decision. I had too quit footbag for four years do to some demons I needed too excersize. I came too this due too many bad nights not one. good luck and I hope too see you soon. I'm still digesting the events of this weekend, and when I get them all figured out I'll put them in my blog.
My 2 cents for the moment though, is that overall I thought this was an incredibly fun weekend and event, and I think it would be a mistake to remember it by the one unfortunate incident that happened on Saturday night. Adrienne did a great job running her first tournament, and it paid off.
Here's a brief list of things off the top of my head which I thought were excellent at this tournament:
1. Good venue. Easy to get to, spacious, well-lit, good carpeting in the competition area, and even a basketball hoop for us to play on.
2. Great prizes and prize pack. We got free bottled water, amazing prizes from Freedom Footbags and PlanetFootbag (thank you so much!), and a legit prize pack. Very sweet.
3. Competition ran smoothly and on time. We also had excellent judges in Pete Irish, Jon Schneider, and Vince Bradley.
4. Party on Saturday was great. There were chess sets, video games, poker, lots of couches, drinks, and even a birthday cake. Great set up.
There were a lot of other things that made this a great tournament for me on a personal level, but I'll get into that in my own blog.
Two small questions: Did anybody (Aidan?) get my routine on video? Are people planning on making a video on the circle comp footage? I'd really like to see footage from the weekend. I think that would also help people put the weekend in perspective, and remember it the way it should be: a fun weekend with friends and footbag.
PS- I'm pretty sure this was a one day event because Sunday was Easter, and not because of partying considerations.

I just wanted to thank you all for the great introduction I was given to the sport this weekend. I had a really great time and was very pleased to meet some of the cooler people I've met in my life.
I think (hope) I've been inspired to start practicing in earnest and I'm definitely going to be attending another tournament sometime soon.
Everyone's hospitality and kindness is really, really appreciated. I started the day as a very shy girl who was too embarassed to kick anywhere but in the basement by herself and I ended the weekend with some people who I sure hope can be my new friends.
I think I'll kill some more of my afternoon perusing these forums.

Christina, I am really glad you came out! When I started I was just like you, practicing kicks at tournaments behind bushes so no one would see me (back when Vince was the only person who knew I existed). We have to play together soon, you live so close!
And no, I did not have a one day event so we could party. People can do that no many how many days an event is. It was one day because 1) the only day I could get a space on campus was the day before Easter and 2) getting a space on campus costs a good bit of money and one day was all we could afford.
As far as the negative part of Saturday night, it really sucked but I am glad that everyone is still saying positive things about the event. Hopefully Chris will take this as a motivation to get help, if that's what is best for him.
So everyone knows we made over $450 for Savannah. I was only expecting a couple hundred so that is awesome. Even though it is not much compared to the astronomical amount they have to pay for the transplant, every little bit really does help.

It's the pits that I couldn't make it, but count me 90% likely for East Coasts again this year, so I'll see all of y'all soon.
I must toss some props to Bevier for that routine. I've always loved the unorthodox element to his game and I'm really pleased to see the amounts of that increase in his routines. It makes for a great show!
