1st quarter Modified Online Competitions Official Release!

Posted below are links to the video for each competition, each contains all the video entrys to that competition.

Feedback:
I encourage everybody to post in this thread with your predictions on how the ranking will go, and feedback on everybody's entrys. The players enter these competitons so they can find out what you think! Please let us know. Feedback on the editing, since these comps arent about being a great editor, if you have problems with my editing please pm me.

The judging of these competitions is organised by Max Boucoiran.

awesome zeb, i enjoyed that! so heres what i think.

i like my move.. though grant did it too, i feel mine was cleaner... i couldnt even see the bag in his video however. i really enjoyed this!

everyone elses moves were pretty solid as well. i especially liked eskimo joe's fairy ss whirl. the tiny pigbeater guy (forgot his name) looks liek he had the same problem i used to with turning his legs in when he sets. but its a sweet move, although it looks cooler when its not "tiny". ducking pdx mirage looked great to me, smog looked okay (possibly thin dex?), phoenix sort of sloppy, and smear as well, though its one of my favorite moves. maybe thats why im so picky.

where is the "open" comp? i didnt see yogan, so i assume he is in that. when can we expect that video? i sort of fell like i should be in open... idk. its a nongeneric 5, and jorden said it in the other thread regarding this comp, stepping UP is better than in your zone. but i guess ill just have to bust harder next time. =]

thanks alot zeb, i liked the editing loads... weird song though? i dont know. and a few videos were blurry, but thats not your fault. thanks again buddy.

I can probably bet you anything, and say that he has better pixies than you do cale! Seeing as He hits Phoenix, Assassin, Bs Assassin, Alpine Pixie Whirl, Goliath and a whole bunch of other pixie tricks with ease! His phoenix set can be anywhere from right at neck level, or it can be 5 miles above him. He has limitless control of his pixies!

And yes, he can do them higher. We were having fun that night and he was hitting a whole bunch of tiny ass pixie moves. This is the one he wanted me to send in, but he also hit "tiny" smog" and a couple of other's that I can't think of right off.

Yo the music goes dead during the middle of novice sick three for a couple of seconds. Just wanted to let you know. I was worried about about the way my clips would look but I'm happy with them. Bravo!

hey guys.. im sure his pixies are great, pigbeater is a serious move. i wasnt saying anything about his pixies, i was saying for his toe to toe sets, his knees turn in like mine used to, which doesnt look right to me.

and i can duck pixies easily as well, and hit almost all those tricks. i just didnt want to enter one of them =)

i just wqatched the sick 3 video...

i think the two best entries were kim berg and paulo castro... they were busting pretty big. TORQUE>BARFLY is an intense link paulo! and kim, you looked spoto n with form and control. again, andrew's was very strong, and daniel ramirez was very good as well.

based on the first two tricks, i felt like jose hernandez could have finished with something stronger than reverse whirl. the legbeater looked great though! almost all the entries were clean in my opinion, so great job everyone!

So I'm gonna rank novice. I may or may not be a judge...

Sick 1... yaaayyy!!!

1. Cale McCoy - Ducking PS Mirage - Very clean. I think the duck was good, but the lighting wasn't good enough to tell. Clear winner in my opinion, although I think that this should have been open. I'm surprised you didn't turn a lot for the symp mirage, most people do that. Props on a well-executed 5 (and I might also say, a well-executed 5 that I can't do.

).

2. Grant "GMONEYZZZZzZZZ" Mooney - Ducking PS Mirage - Very similar to Cale's. I'm really tempted to give a tie, but I think Cale edged you out. The only problem with this one is the clipper set, it just looks wonky. Very well done though. Once again, I can't hit it.

3. Conrad Rustad - Tiny Pigbeater - At NYJ Evan, Ben, Jay, and I were doing the world's tiniest illusions and mirages. While this has a pretty low set, you can definitely get a lot lower. Props anyways, "tiny" tricks are a good way to improve your footbag-megagaltasticity.

I don't think you need a critique, you know what you're doing. Well, I guess the toe pointy outy thing could be fixed but whatever.

4. Criswell Aveiro - Smog - Clean-ish. You raised your pixie foot too soon. It's more of a lateral movement rather than a vertical one such as atomic. I won't pick on you too much though, at least it's not a barely-there flickish pixie. Ok, the second part. DLOs, in my opinion look much better downtime. They're harder, but they just look better. I would prefer to see you plant the pixie foot and then start the DLO next time. Great trick though.

5. Jose Hernandez - Phoenix - Venezuela is going to blow up soon. Yippee! Great pixie, a lot of people the their pixie on phoenixes. The duck was good I think, I couldn't tell because of quality issues. The delay was really the only bad thing for me. Catching it on your heel is never really a good thing, unless you're trying to do that. I think you'll be able to do this trick easily pretty soon. You're on the right track.

6. Blake Johnson - Blizzard - Great set. Not slurry at all. The Illusion was kinda bleh, though. It was clean but you started the dex too late and you raked the delay which doesn't realy work well with Illusions. From now on just start it earlier. I like how they look though, I wouldn't change the dexing style.

7. Andrew Dunford - Fairy SS Whirl - I think the fairy was good. You had a great magic hop. The only problem is the form on your whirls. Try and not point your knee down, that can really mess your knee up. Your paragraph will be short because of a near-perfect executed trick. Well, I guess the whirl was particularly clean... that'll come though.

8. Tim Smith - Ducking PDX Mirage - Never open up your hand like that. Always keep your hands facing downwards. Weird arms are my #1 style-killer. Unless they have really unique and fancy arms. Like Lon Smith, KCrow, Szymon, etc... But anyways. The hand thing was the only thing I can find wrong with it. The mirage wasn't raked too much, your hair looked great... uhh... The dex was there obviously and, you know. Good job. Great trick.

9. Bjorn Lorenz - Smear - Pixie was good. Smear is a staple in everybody's game, props on hitting it. The mirage was really really forced. I think you should work more on your basics (specifically mirages in this case) before you starting hitting other medium-level 3 ADDs. It wasn't the worst execution, but it could definitely be better. Keep your back straight, shoulders back. Try not to look down too much.

Haha thanks about the hair. I never heard about keeping hands down and I didnt even notice that till I just watched it again. It does look ugly, that was only my first or second time I hit it so I think that is why my arms were so awkward. That and ducking mirage are the only ducking moves I've hit but I had to do something for sick one so I entered that. Thanks for the advice!

my computer is being really crappy lately, they will get here.

from what i heard from zeb about his computer is what has happened to my old laptop. the harddrive is dying so his computer will be running at really slow speeds. give him a break. hes the only reason the comps are still running
