That's exactly what I told my roommate and my Italian professor. I don't see why it should even matter. Maybe his wife should've done a little more.

The atheist thing and the reason thing were classic too. Oh yeah and I finished HST's F&LOTCT'72 a few days ago. What was that part you mentioned? I enjoyed it but compared to Rum Diaries or F&LiLV it wasn't as good. Have you read anything else by him?

I wondered about exactly this when the Bill and Monica case was up. He had an affair and lost his job but not his marriage. Makes no sense!

I need to look into this Psychogeography by Will Self (illustrated by Ralph Steadman) sounds really good!

Have you read any books by Haruki Murakami ? Right now I am reading the "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle" and it's awesome. And since our taste in books are so similiar I bet you will like it aswell.

Got my first results from uni back for some geography;

Pretty good. Also smashed this guy in our workshop in a debate that was essentially post-modern cultural relativism. He didn't think Western society was any better than any other cultures around the world. I suggested I'd much rather live in a Western society with a life expectancy of 80 than live in Zimbabwe with a life expectancy of 37. He made the ridiculous comeback of talking about the obesity epidemic in the Western world (obviously losing track of his ideology, since his position should be that there is nothing wrong with being obese). I pointed out looking around the class there didn't seem to be anybody who were obese and looked like they were going to die.

The work of Korn and the postmodernists has since been appropriated by intelligent-design creationists, who claim that evolution is not a theory, because there is no such thing as a theory.

I was under the impression that their (the creationists') one big win was advocating that ID was a valid theory and hence should be taught with equal weight as evolution in US schools.

I'm also under the impression that the creationists are not the most rigorous debaters out there.

The creationists haven't had any "big wins" - they argued in the Dover case that "intelligent" design was a science and not a religious belief, and that evolution was just a "theory" and "scientists" from both sides of the debate presented their evidence for both claims, and the judge ruled that "intelligent" design is not a science, but a religious belief.

The comment is more referring to the fact that if you start labelling everything "just a theory" then it becomes meaningless to use the word "theory" because it just means everything.

So I've bitten bullet and I'm playing Aussie rules football again. I just love the game too much. Had my first training today and it was really good. I put in some pretty hard yards. Thought I was going to throw up at one point, but really loved it. Not going to be able to train this week (girls

) or play this Saturday (footbag) but after that I'm so pumped. We train at the university grounds, which is literally just across the road from my house (see earlier post of map

) and play our home games there too, so it's pretty convenient. New house is going really well; I'm getting on well with everybody and having a good time. Have been doing well at uni as well, although had a few beers before my practical today and was probably not at my best. Even had a footbag session yesterday, so that's cool. Getting myself organised.

Oh yeah, if you're wondering what Australian Rules Football is you might want to take the time and download this game. It's about 1.2g big, so pretty massive, but a lot better than the youtube clips. Also I support the team that wins and play about 4 levels below this level. Also a guy I played with in my early days plays for the team that wins (I don't want to give it away, because it's such a good and close game), so that's cool too. If anybody actually does download it (which would really surprise me), please post your thoughts
