LOL! Hope your competition goes slammin'! It was so nice to see you again even for just a short while. Your gf is very nice and Alex seemed very cool. Hope to see you again soon, for sure in Portland his Summer.

It was great to meet you Shawni and Alex, and it was really nice seeing you again, Aaron. Good luck at the comp!
And work on that clipper.

Damn dude I miss you guys. Wish I coulda come up to P town. Bad timing Saturday was my birthday so I wasn't about to leave. I'm gonna miss tonight too and yes I know that's totally lame, but just trust me when I say it's for good reason. I will TOTALLY be there Saturday though! For the first time since I've started kicking I think I can actually say I feel "rusty". Fuck this rusty bullshit I need to get back on track and I plan on seeing to it that I do. See you people real soon.
Hey guys next session will be Saturday outside, SATURDAY MARKET YEAH! We will hopefully get enough people to show to really excite and recruit some new members. Shawnell hasn't been able to kick lately because she has a lower back issue that is being resolved, but she needs to rest and recovery until next Wednesday, where she will be busting big!
In new news, Alex hit his first triple dex, BLURRIEST! Really intense, considering he just hit his first double dexes a couple months ago. Way to go Alex!
Finally, if you haven't heard, I am working wednesday evenings now, so I will be trying to recruit throughout the week and hosting the saturday sessions. Alex will take care of the wednesdays. If anyone is interested in competing or attending a small event, there is a rippin run contest with no entry fee in Olympia Washington, the weekend of the 19th and 20th. Penske and the seattle crew will be present, so if your looking for a good time that weekend, (4/20) look no further.
Peace
Oh yeah, I hit Marijuana > Double Down > Frog Monster Drop! I will seal it next time.

Saturday kicked major ass as usual. I was like 4 hours late, but I got a good 4 hours of kicking in. I finally got mods done on my shoes and it was really great to start getting back in the groove. My legs are soooooo sooooooo freakin sore. Seriously hurts just to walk and even sitting down kills me. Guess all that being sick got me all flat footed and weak. Pain let's me know I'm coming back though. See you people Wednesday.
Uh...yeah footbag crew good job on showing up Saturday. >.< Sarcasm. My back is still injured but I couldn't resist the craving to kick outside with all of those people and energy. Aaron played with compleate ease and looked like he could hit anything that came to mind. I guess the sun does that to a person. Alex was out of town on some important business and seemed pretty bummed about missing last session. By the time that Eddie showed up we were three hours into our session and were pretty much done. We kicked for half an hour extra with Eddie...well Aaron did. Cement makes me hurt. By the time we got back to my apartment both of our feet hurt like crazy. Nothing new for me...still kind of in a stand still. On the brighter side had a mini shred session with Alex at his house and I was able to do some no plant moves. I'm tired of shuffling as much as I do and I just want it to look fluid. I guess that all comes with practice. God, I really need mats. Aaron PLEASE LET ME BORROW FOUR SQUARES IT'S NOT LIKE YOU USE THEM! Geeze.
Penske is pretty awesome and Sunny was really nice. I don't know what Emily meant by I hadn't met enough of the footbag community. I don't know what that has anything to do with being proud to be apart of the footbag community. I know I love footbag and anyone who gives me a reason not to (and is a footbagger) doesn't feel the same way I do about footbag.
I might not be the best at it, but you don't have to be the best all the time. You just have to enjoy what you do. Even if I drop the bag or am imbarrassed by my twos and how much of a newbie I am... I still love the sport. Yes, it is a sport. It's a different kind of sport that requires a different kind of person. Not every one is cut out for it though...
I plan on going up to Seattle this weekend for the rip and run comp. Uh...not compeating I just want to meet the Seattle crew and kick for fun. I think that is how the US Open might turn out for me also in July. Not compeating. (Kills me) I'm not guiltless yet so...yeah. Still learning basics. (SUPER basics) Plan on compeating US Open 09. At least then I would have played a little over a year by then and would have become more confident around people.
I don't expect to be the best at footbag, I do however expect to have the best times.
Body, Mind, and Footbag that's all that matters.

I meant to poke fun at other people. It wasn't a reflection on you being a part of the footbag community or not, or you being a good judge of people or not. Just me being silly about my friends.Shawni wrote:I don't know what Emily meant by I hadn't met enough of the footbag community. So I thought you peeps would appreciate this. Yesterday after our session Alex dropped me off at the Eugene station downtown. I had to wait for my girlfriend to pick me up and it was gonna be a bit of a wait so I had some time to kill. I was walking around and I found this random dude just sitting there playing a drum at the intersection of the Library and the Bus station. I smiled at him and walk passed, but then it hit me. THIS IS PERFECT! Nothing else to do, dude playing a drum, why the hell not be a street performer for a bit! There was a cup with some coins on the ground and everything. I busted out some really really great long runs. Good reactions from people. Made a new friend outta the drummer and everything. It was really no big deal, but I felt a little more in the spotlight because this wasn't a session, wasn't Saturday Market, just a plain Wednesday afternoon, and I was alone shredding out on the street at a busy intersection filled with people just because I felt like it. I felt that extra focused energy and it just made me do really well. I'm just really happy that I didn't shrink from the opportunity to pass my time doing what I love for any and all to see. Moments like this remind why I will never ever ever stop shredding.

Today's session went pretty well. Weather was bad so we played inside. James quit smoking and you CAN TELL! His game is ALOT stronger. He wants to come to US open and I'm so EXCITED to see him compeate. Alex and I don't think we are going to compeate this year still. Dude!! Alex hit osis>torque! OMG Looked really smooth. Aaron is fustrated about his gaining of weight...(he is everytime because he has to re-learn his sets) He had some pretty good double down runs. James did twenty ripwalks...comments that he wants to get back up to his fourty ripwalks. Toby showed up today..haven't kicked with him in a while. He did whirl bos. and pdx whirl a few times. He would be a stronger player if he didn't kick in the middle of his runs, though I want to video tape him and have him watch himself play. >.<I>swirl bos I think I have the potential if I work on flatter clippers (it might take a while but it's a goal!). Whirls are evil (no sucess) and will learn them in due time so for now I can't do osis>stepover>whirl bos yet >.<''. Sad but true, not focusing on difficult moves until solid.
That's all for now fokes!!!! ;P

Aaron shawni and I had an awsome mini session on 4-20! As far as I know I invented and hit a new move, I call it -soul walk- soul stall set stepping butterfly soul stall. Fun move! I also hit double around the world for the first time! All bare foot. We also had a cake with (4-20) written on it. All in all it was an awsome 4-20.
Footbag is LIFE! The rest is just filler.
Ya the four-twenty cake was pretty awesome. Proud to post that my pdx mirages are smooth and NO PLANTS. Thank god. Anyway can't wait to shred again soon. Nick is sending down my bag soon I hope just got ahold of that guy (what a challange). I can't believe he left his phone at the ZOO!! Although it's a pretty freakin' sweet zoo.
I wanna go to Portland again soon.
Life is good.

Dude session yesterday was freaking BADASS!!! Everybody was in great spirits, James came out for a bit, we all hit new stuff, it was a blast! I FINALLY hit rip walk. I had been focusing on getting up and over it and James simply told me that it's about getting to the side, not over. And just like that I hit it like 5 times throughout the session. Alex is improving at blazing freakin speed man it's mind blowing, I can't even keep up with all the new moves you got dude. So awesome. Shawni totally busted out ducking clipper with seriously what looked like no effort. She didn't even give the impression she was gonna try it, then woosh there it was clean and smooth as butta baby. Like she'd done it a million times. Great energy, you guys rock! Good sesh.
