I owe you a reply. Here it is. I can't tell you much though. Since I have lots of other things to do besides, neither planetfootbag get the attention it should get, nor footbag in general does.
Concerning the quantum footbagshoe:
Yes there will be several changes such as heelcap, sole optimization and some other things. And of course, new colors as in every version.
Speaking of sizes, we plan to extent our sortiment/range with every version. As far as I know,Version 3 will come with size US 13. We cannot make radical changes of the shoe typ (e.g. rotate the "quantum" marked on the shoe 180 degrees). Mainly because this would cost us a fortune. Things like that will be changed in the future as profits raise and problems are well discussed and feed-backed. So what we particularly do is the following: we try to approach to this perfect solution for a footbag-shoe, step by step.
Imagine, the profit (which was actually none) from version 1 was "coverage" of the costs of manufacturing/production. All the money, the profit (which means, actual price minus in-price) we got and still get from version 2 is put in Version 3 (and V4, since we didn't sell all our v2s yet). Recall, the concept and overall modifications have to be adapted. To adapt all the changes to a new size costs a lot money. It's not like changing the default laces or something.
As you see, and hopefully understand now, there will be changes, only a few though.
Anyways, I think the order for V3 is already requested and the new version will probably be available at worlds in Prague this year too.
I can't tell you more for the moment due to the simple reason that I do know everything about v3. The last months I've been pretty busy with work and the creation (or better replacement) of the swiss pf-shop (by the way, the shop should be online in a few days). Moreover the pf-sales kept me busy.
In fact, I know that everyone is so excited to see version 3. The time will arise. Sorry that I couldn't answer all the questions. I might post something later again.

Flavio, thanks for the update on version 3. I still think it would be a good option to delay the release of version 3 a little further than Worlds at Prague, but since the order and modification suggestions have already been issued on behalf of V3 (at least, that's what you believe) then there's nothing much for me to say. I just can't wait to see what they look like. 
Just a few questions: how much of the version 2 do you still have in stock? And in your opinion concerning the current and expected sales of version 2, is it the right move to consider the production of version 4 already? It's just in my belief that the Quantums should be produced at a steady and functional pace, because haste would literally lead to waste. I believe a year's time for the next release of the shoe could be a bit too quick.

Back to your questions:

It depends on what you mean. planetfootbag is divided up in 4 chapters (germany, switzerland (and internationalshop), austria, czech republic). I can't tell you exactly how many the others still have in stock. speaking of us, the swiss shop, we have approx. 25-35 pairs left. They guys from austria seem to have only 15 left. So if you wanna know how many qms V2 are out there you gotta add up the shoes from freedomfootbagshop, japanstore and the other reseller besides planetfootbag.
Personally I believe that there are in total not that many pairs left... btw we still have 4 pairs from V1 (though size US 7).
2. And in your opinion concerning the current and expected sales of version 2, is it the right move to consider the production of version 4 already?
In my opinion it is not the right move to consider the production of version 4 already. First of all there is version 3. We will consider the production as soon as we get feedbacks from version 3. There can't be improvements withouth any feedbacks. We produce for the community. planetfootbag is the community. It just means we are veryvery grateful to get feedbacks (whether they are good or not) from the players to push the entire project and the sport as well.

Thanks for your remark. Frankly spoken, I haven't thought about the haste. It's true that version 1, 2 and now 3 all (will) have one year between the releases, because it was important to push the the thing pretty fast to get a semi-good shoe and then think over longer periods..
btw, between version 1 and 2 was a huuuge, definitely remarkable step. I've played with every color a lot and really can assert that v2 is such good shoe. It was really a bigger approach to a laver-like shoe. If this trend continues like this we all will be satisfied with the shoe.
Anyway, there should be a longer - if V3 gets accepted and shows crucial improvements - span between V3 and V4. And as we get to this level of a halfway stable good shoe, there should be a rise of the quantity produced to "feed" the players.
Note, these are only my thoughts and things like that haven't really been discussed yet. In a few months there will probably be a pf-meeting and we all will discuss things reorganize staff. There are lots of other things to discuss too... e.g. sponsorships, new products, new websites, new chapters, other local projects, planetfootbag-booking (for shows), budget tournaments, general budget and so on, to mention a few.

Indeed Flavio, the version 3 could be the becnhmarker for the Quantum footbag shoe in so much that the slight modifications could improve what is already a good product line from the version 2. If it turns out well, maybe the overheads would be for the better, and the version 3 will be ere to stay at a longer duration than the version 4

since Flav is already pretty loose with the info, I’ll try to clear some things up. Usually I don't like talking about unfinished projects, but OK.
First off I’d like to say that we do regularly check the forum and the feedback that people are giving and are very grateful for all the input. So please keep it coming! Also a big thanks to all the people who post pictures of their qm’2 that illustrate and highlight the problem areas. This really helps us a lot because the problem areas we elucidate during our testing are not always the same as the ones you are experiencing.
Why you're hearing so little from us is simply because we would like to keep the forum "neutral ground". Plus, like I said, we don't want to talk about stuff that is not actually realized. Most of you will know that plans seldom work out the way you intended them. So we don’t want to get hopes high, get involved in long arguments, etc. about stuff that might or (more often than not) might not even make it into the product (for various reasons). What we do pick up from the forum entries are the general opinions and trends which help us decide which problems to address first. Ultimately though we of course cannot make a custom shoe for everybody so there will always be aspects of the shoe that some people like and others dislike (such as the toe area).
Second of all I would like to say that in, my opinion, the current model (qm02) is a pretty good Footbag shoe already (except for the occasional cracked sole). If you are a novice to intermediate player without a daily shredding/practice routine and wear the shoe only for Footbag, you can slip into the shoe straight out of the box and will experience an immediate improvement in your game plus will be happy with the shoe for a long time. Of course for dedicated shredders like most of you who are on this forum, the quality is not yet sufficient (although I do know quite a few ardent shredders who are completely happy with the shoe as it is). What we try to achieve on in the long run is a shoe that will also satisfy the “tip of the icebergâ€

hey jan
i know what your saying about footbaggers making this project survive by buying the product... but when i bought my quantum 2s they didnt last me more then 2-3 weeks before the inside mesh started to rip, the sole started to crack and the toe to start falling apart..
i would really like to keep supporting this project... but the investment isnt worth it if i pay 80 dollars for a shoe that will last me 2-3 weeks before starting to bust...

and LEGOMAN: i totally feel for you and anybody who experienced the same problems! the best thing you can do is contact either the place you bought the shoes or planetfootbag directly, state your case, and see if there is anything that can be done (i.e. arrange for a replacement pair, discount on your next quantum, etc.). It's not our intention to sell anyone a product that is absolutely not functional.
of course we are not able to replace every shoe that has a fault. but in extreme cases there is definately something that can be done. so far we have received 4 cases like yours and with each we were able to reach a sattisfactory agreement.
