We need more comedy in footbag performance, shit, even a carrot top would be sweet! (Jon's routine for worlds=EPIC WIN) Almost every performance of footbag, including routines, I have EVER seen has been boring. (or in simple American terms, "gay-looking") This is from the zero-knowledge, random spectator point of view. I'm just being honest. Just look at the comments on most popular footbag videos. Think of the general population's attitude towards hackyballers.

No offense to the 1000s of people that practice routines, they take a lot of time and practice and HARD WORK to perfect. These routines are for other footbag players and they are awesome. But, on the overall performance for a crowd scale, these routines are just plain horrible. Knowing this, I personally can't stand routines that are the standard watch me as I shred below my level for 2 minutes, the obligatory "beg" the audience for applause by stopping and staring at them and having no overall feel in the performance. I usually don't waste my time watch routines since most of them are the same, random song with random choreography.

This is a great write up. It motivates me to work on jokes and come backs when playing publicly or work on generating a crowd. Sorry for the wordy comment, but it's just how I feel. Thanks for posting this Jorden.

There are some really good things in this article. A lot of it applicable to social psychology and these guys seem to know what they are talking about. Good stuff, even applies to those of us that aren't world class players but can still do a decent amount of tricks. Thanks Jorden!
