Haha, nice banner.

It starts this friday. I'm not sure when exactly I'll be free, because I'm planning on going on a couple college visits and doing some other stuff, but I'll have all that stuff worked out soon.

Yesterday was pretty cool. During gym, my friend and I hackey sacked outside the weight room during gym. Our teacher started walking down the hall to check up on the people like jumproping and stuff, and at first I thought he was going to yell at us and confiscate the bag, but he came over and I was just like "hey, look" and busted out, and he was like "well I can't do that" then walked away. Our class has student teachers right now, and they saw me too, and were pretty amazed. I knew they were watching, so I played extra hard and tried my hardest not to drop, so I did a primarily guiltless string (which was a really long string, possibly 10-15 contacts of mostly if not all 3 adds)> toe stall>spinning clipper>handcatch (because catching it is so much more impressive than dropping it). Then I came home and played more outside, and my neighbor was all like "Hey Grant, you're pretty good at that." So it was a pretty cool day. My face hurt that day because my skin was extremely dry and the sweat burned, but other than that yesterday was cool. Also, the last day of school before spring break.

Speaking of that, happy fucking spring break. It's snowing outside.

I wish my parents would plan my friggen college visits. Here's why:
Mom, to me: "Why don't you go online and sign up for an open house or something at ISU or Western?"
Dad: "NO! He's not signing up for anything. We haven't talked about it yet. Some of these schools don't offer Hospitality and Tourism." (him picking out my future)
Arguement follows, nothing gets done, I don't go to Chicago because of everyones' ego is too big and no one reasons or listens to anyone. And by "everyones'" I mean my dad.

So I'm racing Cale McCoy to 50 infinities and so far my highest record is 21. I played a little two hours ago (9 pm) just to practice infinities more. They're somewhat inconsistent, but they're building up. It's improving my clipper form too. I think my clippers are too far foreward. Muted far clippers also help big time.

Osis is getting there. I'd say I can hit osis at almost 50% rate. But the set is sometimes weird and I can't seal it, seal it with a far legover.

I play mostly guiltless now. Not 'stong' guiltless, but most of my strings are guiltless. I need to work on left pixie. It's on par with my right pixie, but I seem to do right more. And I also start most of my strings with a right toe set to a right clipper (on left side). It's not that bad, but I want to break that habit so I'm not like dependent on it or anything.

Posture's getting better. I need to focus on my arms while playing more. I don't remember who said this, but it was about pretending to hold potatoe chips between your thumb and index finger or something, to make sure you're not doing weird things with your arms.

Uh, I think that's all I have to say.

for infinities, once you get 3/4 of the way to the most you can do, or whenever you start getting tired, you have to fool yourself into thinking you just started. take a wuick deep breath and shovel all the coal into the fire. also clippers stop being so flat when you're tired, so focus on making sure they are.

Ok thanks, that makes a lot of sense. Except for that 'w' that should be a 'q.'

herez some headlights of today:

-107 alternating inside stalls
-pixie dlo
-BOP>BOP>BOP
-unlocked sonic and toon link
-16 alternating pickups
-I'd say 6/10 possibility of hitting osis
-Parental permission to go chicago and kick with some CIC guys on saturday in a crowded place. I should go post in their blog after I finish writing in here.

...

I guess that's all I have to say today :?

I'm writing a song called Supercattle. I think my destiny in music is programming basic nintendo trackers and singing. I like playing guitar, but I don't think it fits me as a songwriter or possible performer. I think I'm the first person to write a song about cloned cows though :)

Session went good today, I had my friend over today and yesterday and we kicked for a good portion of the day. He got 4 max kicks yesterday, then 10 today. Here are some highlights:

-spinning clipper midstring
-33 same side clippers, both sides
-13 atws, bs, alternating direction (I kind of don't practice those much, but I feel I need to more so my support leg is stronger, and so its not a possibility to hit an atw, but a definate yes. I can probably hit atw 8/10 times, but I want it to be 10.
-4 consecutive muted far clippers
-legover>ss legover>rpt 22 times
-mirage>pixie>rpt 12 times
-illusion>fairy>rpt 6 times (the constant direction change is kind of confusing)
-pickup>ss pickup>rpt 14 times
-practiced better form and less arm movement.

heres some things I want to work on-
-datw, the other direction. i think that would be out-in. fairy direction, not pixie direction. yeaaahhhhh.
-definately infinities. i have to beat Cale McCoy to 50!!
-ss butterflies
-atomic set. I almost have it, but when I can set right my legs just kind of freeze and I can't finish the trick
-better left side stepping set. I can hit blur and ripwalk no problem on my right side, but it's just the set thats fucking me up on the left side
-consecutive drifters and ripwalks
-swirl
-better dlo
-straighter symp mirage. maybe flail later, but that's really hard to do
-straighter back!! I actually practiced puffing out my chest while playing today, and it felt kind of good, but I feel like without my muscles getting stronger that I'll still have no chance to fully perfect my form.

I can't believe tomorrow I'm going to Chicago to play hackey sack with some guys I've never met before. It's weird when its put into that context. It won't be that big of a deal, although I'm a little nervous. I still don't know what the hell that peter pan guy's problem is (haha).

I watched the open sick 1 and 3 videos. From where I am right now, for the first time, it looks do-able. And that itself is a weird perspective. When I was a beginner I pretty much believed I could never hit that stuff, but now I can actually follow the bag and visualize how to do that stuff. Not all of it, but some of it.

There's pigbeater, there's legbeater, and eggbeater, and a couple others but how come there's no wifebeater?

I didn't play today due to a lack of wanting to do things, a wacked out shoulder and a very very tiny amount of ankle pain all due to sitting in a car for 4 hours yesterday on the way to a college visit and sleeping weird. So I really don't have anything else to say.

I'm not sure who peter pan is, but he's most likely not a CIC member

Today's session was superb. You're good @ footbag (I was quite surprised), and a swell person. Hope you had fun. Do it again soon.

Hey thanks :) Yeah, I definately had a lot of fun. I'm a little sore today, but I guess that was unavoidable. And yeah, I'm up for another session, but once the weather warms up, haha.

Still sore so no shred today. Everything hurts, especially my calves :?

whelp, last day of spring break and I'm once again unsatisfied. And it's not like I did absolutely nothing like I used to. I hate how time flies. Even when I'm busy doing things I feel like I'm missing out. Oh well. Such is life, I guess. Now time to rush to finish homework  I'm not kidding :(

eat a butt load of bananas. The potassium helps break the lactic acid, and thus relieves the soreness a bit.

I ran my legs to the ground today. My legs weren't really sore, but tired, and I kicked em into gear today.

-14 mirage>ss mirage>rpt
-8 illusion>ss illusion>rpt
-37 alternating clipper stalls
-21 alternating pickups
-22 infinities :)

The session was really hard not only due to my fatigued legs, but the fact I'd get to like 20 infinities then drop then redo the drill like 20+ times. But I was getting really comfortable with the trick, and I was getting extremely consistent.

How the FUCK do we not have bananas in the house?!

Torque is still hard. Flip stepping set is still not up to par with strong. Atomic set still not hitting it off with me. Osis is really doing it for me, but I need to drill it back-to-back. DLO is a bit iffy, so I need to pay extra attention to it. I still kick myself doing eggbeater, and got a pretty bad scratch on my left calf from the metal shoelace hole thing today. I need to make my symp. mirages to be straighter. I should also knock out a couple challenges, cuz I can see some I don't have problems with. Spinning needs more practice, but that's on the bottom of my list right now.

edit: I'd also like to say that when I played on Saturday, I felt right at home. Like I finally fit in somewhere without trying. And all it took was nothing more than a few friendly people and a footbag. I didn't even talk that much, and I didn't feel like I had anything to prove to anyone. I didn't have to be funny, I didn't have to show off and be someboy I'm not, and in truth, I really didn't even have to play that well, and it would've been fine. If everything in life was like that, everyone would be happy. I'm definately looking forward to my future in footbag and meeting new people to kick with :)

I have to take the next couple of days off. I'm getting the same leg pains that I used to get from track, which is a good thing because I'm working hard, but I need to rest. My infinities were really good today. Solid. I did mostly toe stuff today though, besides my usual strings.

Here's some stuff I hit today.

 Merkon. One side. I don't remember which one, but it wasn't both.
 Footed torque. Jumping like that is weird, and it's going to be hard to get that stall.
 Ducking butterfly B2B
 4 alternating terrages
 5 alternating muted clippers
 BOP>BOP>BOP>BOP :D
 Butterfly>pdx mirage>symposium mirage>rpt
 5 ss butteflies, bs

I feel kind of weird. I'm in that one state of mind where I'm sad for no reason. It always happens when something cool happens then I drive home by myself at night. I don't know why, but that's just how it happens. There was the school talent show tonight, and I went and watched it and had fun making rude comments to my friend about how much everyone sucked (except for my friend Chuck's band) then I started driving home and just felt empty. I just can't explain it, and it doesn't and never did make sense. I guess that's it.

Somewhat good session today. It only lasted an hour, unlike my usual two or three hour sessions, but I started playing at like 7, and it started getting dark at like 7:30. I didn't really hit anything worth mention. I've finally decided that I'm going to start filming for a new video, and the song I'm going to use, but I have to find out how to set the *good* videocam up to my computer first. The stupid digital one sucks for videotaking.
