Good solo session last night.

STILL on a roll. I think I've finally figured out a technique to have consistently good, productive, fun and progressive sessions. If I can keep this going for a couple more weeks, it will have been a solid month of nothing but good sessions. At that point I'll start field testing my technique with other people.

Hit some pretty cool stuff:
 Spinning xbd rake BS :!: new
 Ripwalk-Rake BS I think I hit strong last wk, flip is new
 Came really close to several other xbd rake tricks such as dimwalk-rake and ducking/diving/weaving rakes. I used to hate rakes, now that I figured them out, they're pretty fun.
 My first 4>4>4: Blur > Dimwalk > Ducking Butterfly :P got it 2nd try too :)
 Smear + PLO BSOS in a toe tiltless run
 SS Butter > Ripwalk > PDX Mirage > RPT > same drill with ducking butterflies > handcatch
 SS Butter > Infinity > PDX Mirage > Smear > RPT
 SS Butter > DLO > Smear > RPT

I'm finally starting to pixie semi-consistently!! How about that! :) :P I also worked on drifters, I think I'll be getting those in runs pretty soon.

SXSW is this week. I caught a show last night, it was pretty good.

Yeah those are awesome runs and strings man props! Haha rakes are awesome, I've never hit spinning rake that sounds crazy tough. Don't neglect that new whirl though...

I still play footbag. I had a bit of a setback with re-aggravating an old hip injury (pre-footbag), but I was able to slow down, stretch it a lot. Now it's fine.

Had an OK session last night. I've only been playing twice a week. Haven't had a solo session in forever.

Highlights:
 Ripwalk > Blur > Run
 Blur > Dimwalk > stepping set... real close here several times
 Weaving Butterfly BSOS in a guiltless run
 Ripwalk BSOS a few times
 Diving Butterfly > Ducking Butterfly > pdx mirage to seal
 Ripwalk > Zulu Butterfly > Hand catch
 PLO BSOS a few times. Pixie w00t!
 Spinning Butterfly > Ducking Clipper > run
 Ducking clip b2b mid run
 Infinity > Diving Clip > rpt > run

Montana Jam in one week! :P :P :P

Then the weekend after that is Austin Reggae Fest. It's the one weekend of the year I get to be a god... in hack circles full of uncoordinated stoners.

I'm not sure if you even like reggae, but since you said you are going to the reggae fest, and you have a pic of Obama in your sig (check the link, it seems to have broken), I thought you'd really like this song:

Still playing twice a week. Haven't had a solo session in forever.

Many thanks to Nick Landes for teaching me whirls at MFJ5

Highlights from last nights session:
 Ducking Butterfly b2b > run > Ripwalk b2b > bails > drop
 Several whirls, easier mid run than from plain clipper
 footed flip whirl a couple times, will get that very soon
 Several good guiltless runs with some genuine links.
 Slapdown > ripwalk > run with DLO BSOS
 Ducking clip b2b mid run several times
 Ducking was feeling really good, spinning feeling better than it has been.

Eeyore's birthday this Saturday

MFJ5 video capture and edit tonight? 8)

Still playing twice a week. When will the life-busy-ness stop? I need to have a solo session.

Great group session this past Saturday. 5 man circle! Greg was in from out of town, myself, Cody, James and Boswell... a guy who used to play 5 years ago before a couple of crazy non-footbag injuries put him out of commission. Plus at one point we had a 4-man hack circle with me, Greg's wife, and some guy and his 5 year old kid, who was actually pretty decent.

Highlights:
 Ducking clip x 4 ... I bet I could do way more than that if I put some time into it
 Ripwalk x 3 ... again, I bet I could hit 6+ if I worked at it
 48 contact tiltless/BOP run
 50 contact tiltless/BOP run
 Flail > run
 Toe blizzard twice, didn't feel clean to me either time, but 2 witnesses confirmed clean :?
 Bubbabeater BSOS... not sure if new or not

Wow, a month since my last blog post?

Recap:
-proposed to Amber, who said yes :D HOORAY! 3 1/2 year anniversary coming up this month
-2 week trip to Israel which was AWESOME! Check out pictures on facebook and/or in my sig. Had a session with Roy in Jerusalem which was really really fun.
-Didn't play very much footbag

This Saturday we had a session at Barton Springs which was awesome. Shred > Swim > RPT. Greg came from out of town and we had a fun session. No memorable highlights but I wasn't playing bad either.

Solo session, worked it!
 Super BOP combo sealed with a ducking butterfly to 5 more BOPs so I guess 24 guiltless? Close to my record
 Shred 30 attempt: Ripwalk > PDX Illusion > (SS Butter > Osis > PDX Mirage > RPT) > (SS Butter > DLO > RPT) > SS Butter >PDX Mirage > Butter > PDX Illusion > SS Butter > Infinity > SS Butter > Ducking clip > Infinity > drop > toss to butter > Ducking Clip > PDX Mirage > SS Butter > Osis > Osis > time

Just over 120~! BooYAH!!!! First try too. I've never broken 50 in competition.

Now gotta see if I can make it to US Open. I've got a routine song picked, I should probably start practicing regardless.

And why wouldn't she have said yes?

You have the hack skillz, the hair, and the sweet digs.
You're pretty nice too.

I know how you feel, man. My situation isn't far off from yours. It does feel good to be appreciated.

Keep up the good (life) work.

Congratulations on all of the above. You decided to join the married people club. Good session at Barton Springs in the dirt. My bag had like a 1/8" of mud cover by the time I left. Thanks for the advice on DLO.

Speaking of marriage, I lost my wedding ring that day at Barton Springs. I didn't realize it untill I got all the way back to Corpus. Must have been when I jumped in the water the last time or something.

Thanks everyone for the comments.

I had a session on Wednesday. I remember I hit osis > ducking clip BSOS which was pretty cool. I also got close to zooming. I'm playing way better out of osis. Also I hit spinning clip > DLO bsos and spinning clip > blur BSOS but not in the same run.

Work has been really rough lately. I'm taking on a lot of new projects, accomplishing a hell of a lot and not really getting any recognition for it. It sucks to work so hard, go the extra mile and see the useless people get not laid off (we had big layoffs a month ago) or worse, promoted. Management at my company just has its head up its ass. It took a while but I'm finally at the point where it's definitely time to leave. The economy is so shitty right now, finding a new job will be hard work. It took me a while, but I've made up my mind on what I want to do. I want a "green-collar" job, something environmentally friendly. It's something I'm passionate about so I think I'd be able work hard at it and enjoy it. Now, where the hell do I go from here?

...

I got really sick last night. I threw up like 8 times. I've felt like shit for the last 24 hours. Today was just terrible. I was really looking forward to playing footbag today but I didn't get the chance to do so. All I've eaten today is 1 piece of pita bread. Why the hell can't I get sick during the fucking work week!

Also, I hate to announce this, but I'm not going to make it to US Open. Plane tickets are just too damn expensive. I was really looking forward to schooling my shred 30 and putting on a good routine, but it's just going to have to wait until another time.

Ooh I did hit a 4>4>4 sick 3 the other night. What was great was that it was 2nd try. I'd like to hit a sick 1 too, but I really can't hit 5 add moves. I guess I got another 2 weeks.
