I think Danny Petrick is the only one I'm afraid of uping me on this one.

wow. There's a video of Jorden on collegehumor and it got completely decimated in the comments. I mean even YouTube will get a nice comment every five or six posts or something.
one of my favorites of his as well. Oh well. Fucking college kids.
played today. Nothing new was hit. Had some real nice long runs using just about everything I know in each. Everything except quantum. Yes, so that means nuclear made it in one. Barfry = my ol' faithful. I can hit it 30x more midstring than straight from a toss to the foot. Don't ask me why because I don't consider myself any good at the trick still. I say 30x but that's because I do it once a year. And it's mostly midstring.
I'm still not liking the whole "can't play for 2 hrs" thing. Came out of nowhere and it's freaking me out. Taking my world and throwing it through a loop of fire.
I'm going to modified less and less.
meh. Hopefully I'm not missing much. Never know when new prodigy will come out of Eastern Europe or something. But what else is new, right?
Still playin', still improving, still wishing I had an mp3 player so I can listen to music easier.

I'm writing a paper in my religious thought class about footbag
and I'm going to mention Lon Smith's work with Modest Mouse to make the Invisible music video and my roommate and I just watched it. He's a huge psychology nerd. And we've decided that he's charged with finding out why people don't care to notice us when we play footbag.
off the top of his head he's declared it "Inattention blindness", a phenomenon so complex and not at all related to American or English Literature that I can't possibly explain here. But yeah. that's his initial diagnosis. We'll keep you posted as the research is conducted and the science gets done. And we make a neat gun for the people who are still alive.
um. But as a footbag player I'm pretty confident in saying that people don't bother noticing us because they think we're strange. And there's more but I need to get back to writing my paper. Just thought that was pretty cool. My roommate hacked around with me a bit too and so he knows exactly what we're talking about.
I need to do more work with fairy

k that's fine. I was just checking. I too look forward to shredding with you both.
I was thinking a lot about Worlds today and was trying to figure out if it's been wise for me not to have booked my flight yet. See, I don't suppose it would matter how wise it is in the long run because I literally COULDN'T book a flight even if I wanted to. Unless I asked my parents to do it for me and I'd pay them back this summer when I get money. But that wouldn't happen in 3 eons and even IF pigs could fly. If pigs could fly, my parents would laugh slightly at the imagery and would continue on their rant on how I should be worrying more about finding a job than going to Worlds in Prague (a decent argument, I would say at this point - but still).
But anyway yeah. . Worlds. It's getting here sooner than I thought. And I hope I don't get bitched out of good prices. I probably will. I hope I'll still go. I need a Worlds. I sound pretty happy with footbag, and I am, but I've missed out so many times (two times, reasonably) and you hear everyone ranting and raving about how "WORLDS WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE! you BITCH!" so I feel kind of obligated.
I didn't play today. It's Wednesday which has always been kind of iffy with me this semester as far as finding time between work and an evening class during my prime shred time. But I don't mind. Yesterday sucked ass for shred and I'd rather a break. I just wish I had gotten a good dinner at the dining hall out of not playing (I usually miss out on the first dish served at dinner time, which is usually the best) but as it turned out dinner in general was fair at best anyway.
the weather - she's warming up! So who can stay mad at a time like this?

sleep deprived session just now. Sucked balls.
midstring pdx torque
footed ducking pdx torque on my flipside. Never hit it or tried it on my strong. Probably won't again for a month or so.
skooled pdx DLO . . sauced it a couple times
ocean some more times
whirl war x2
in other news it appears I will be going back to school to get a degree in computer science after I graduate. It's more or less official. I need a comp sci degree in order to better secure opportunities in the field of game design.
which reminds me. My gaming article got published in my school newspaper and they want me to do another for this next issue. I guess they felt I was a breath of fresh air on the Arts and Entertainment section, which is usually saturated with pictures of Ryan Seeeeecrest or whatever and fashion Do's and Don't's.
ugh my school is an embarrassment.
If you're wondering why I said today's session sucked balls - it's because I met a few douchebags who thought it was worth laughing at how I was playing to music. And like I said I'm really tired because I stayed up most of the night last night writing papers. So I'm a little edgy right now. Not so much NOW but like 20 minutes ago. Anyway, it's over, I'm stoked I hit a midstring pdx torque like third or fourth try, and now it's time for dinner.
peace.
They that will not be counseled, cannot be helped. If you do not hear reason she will rap you on the knuckles.

my new hero and his friends and their cooking show. He did these youtube updates for Smash Brothers Brawl before it came out and he's now idolized by my friends and I. he's hilarious. And this show is pretty awesome.

well the time of the spring/summer shred closes in, my friend. We shall dominate Liverpool with footbag shenanigans once more!
I'm sore still but I'm going to play today because it's been a couple. Watching josh play on ustream has given me some ideas.

two hour session :
string > tripwalk > "blurry" rev whirl
spinning osis > diving clipper rpt
couple attempts at yoda. Footed once or twice
atomsmasher > parkwalk > blur > atomsmasher
rev swirl > blizzard > pixie whirl > string
zulu mirage bsos again. Still a pretty strange trick I don't do enough. Got a bit better at it today.
pdx whirl x4 second try. Not my best.
my leg was still kind of sore. Stamina suffered. I was pretty ready to stop after an hour and 15.
I got some really nice sake yesterday and I'm excited to try it out. I like sake but I don't know which kinds to get so this is kind of a stretch. I like the way the bottle looks and it wasn't the cheapest. So I suppose it can't be too bad. I've tried hot sake once in LA and I really really liked it that way so I'm going to heat it up before we drink it. I've got at least one other person who wants to try it so we're going to play some video games, climb a couple buildings on campus, and then watch a movie with the hot sake.
peace.

well fellas a turn for the worse:
this weekend completely broke me. I won't go into details but let's just say that I had a lot of fun on skateboards and in stairwells and other various high speed antics and now every part of me hurts. I have a few cuts along my stomach and a gash I just noticed this morning in the crook of my knee that actually looks pretty bad.
I feel terrible. My room is a complete mess, I'm surrounded by filth, and I'm out of clean clothes (I'm wearing my last clean one now, a Green Day shirt I've had since the 9th grade).
I also haven't played hack in day or two. The last few sessions have been nasty bad because my legs have been either sore or just way too stiff to do anything.
Today is a possibility but I need to do some major work both for school and for my general health. I need to go to Walmart and get a new trash bag for our room so maybe I can use that as a way to get off campus and find a nice little flat area to play if only for a little while.
pretty sure I'm also gaining a bit of weight. Not good weight (which is what people say I need). Fat. So getting back to eating like I used to is also on the list.
I just hope I can get my junk together before GRASS.
fun post eh? Here. . here's a quotation for ye. The entire second passage of the Tao Te Ching. The passage I still read and am always baffled by how it pertains to my little world:
All in the world know the beauty of the beautiful, and in doing this they have (the idea of) what ugliness is; they all know the skill of the skilful, and in doing this they have (the idea of) what the want of skill is.
So it is that existence and non-existence give birth the one to (the idea of) the other; that difficulty and ease produce the one (the idea of) the other; that length and shortness fashion out the one the figure of the other; that (the ideas of) height and lowness arise from the contrast of the one with the other; that the musical notes and tones become harmonious through the relation of one with another; and that being before and behind give the idea of one following another.
Therefore the sage manages affairs without doing anything, and conveys his instructions without the use of speech.
All things spring up, and there is not one which declines to show itself; they grow, and there is no claim made for their ownership; they go through their processes, and there is no expectation (of a reward for the results). The work is accomplished, and there is no resting in it (as an achievement).
The work is done, but how no one can see;
'Tis this that makes the power not cease to be.

Yikes! Keep yo'self healthy until GRASS dude, I'd feel a tad guilty CRUSHING you in a hack battle knowing you werent at 100%.
Seriously though, stop doing stuff that damages you.... except footbag.
Can't wait for GRASS man, and yes, we will actually manage to play TOO much footbag this summer. I say we make it our goal to attend at least 3 major tournaments and if that means road trip, then so be it.
My sacky sense is tingling....no homo.

aw such concern! Thanks.
Yeah I've cleaned up my act. My arm is still pretty sore and my cut doesn't look quite as infected as it did yesterday morning. I dumped a pound and a half of antibiotic cream on that bitch. So all is maybe okay with that.
I WILL play footbag today. I hate the feeling of inactivity. And it's another lovely day. So I just took two tests this morning and everything went okay so the mood is high. Sun is high. Socks are high. Most writers for FOX are high. So it's time to rock.
I'm going to be letting a lot of people down this weekend by going to GRASS and it's happening all at once it seems. But I feel no regret because I've been saying I'm going to GRASS for a good month (+) now so they can go choke on their wiimotes. We were going to play a very pivotal game of D&D come Saturday as well as go see that new Jackie Chan/Jet li movie Forbidden Kingdom (looks amazing). Which reminds me. If anyone wants to go see that with me as a break from footbag I'd be totally down with that.
I also have some community service on saturday I'll be putting off. But there are a couple other chances to get it done so I'm saying "meh" to that. I'm beginning to dislike modified more and more and wish I could just meet people in person so I value GRASS and other things I'll be going to this summer a lot.

I'm going to design video games under the company name Symple Paradox. I just thought of it while going to the bathroom just now. I got so excited I needed to vent it somewhere. No one was online so I just decided to come and post at Modified.
sorry.
I also would like to vent about how overwhelmed I am with all this stuff I need to do in order to pursue a career in the industry after going in one vague stagger up a BA degree in English. It's a bit crazy. I hope it doesn't affect my GPA all that much. Shrug. I won't go on. Not here. I need a blog. Or roommates that are more willing to talk instead of sit in a dimly lit dorm room for 8 hours at a time staring at textbooks and notepads.
I played today. Meh. I'm out of it. This is another reason for why I have to play ALL THE TIME and not let up. I slip way too easily. So yeah I need to get back up to snuff (again) before GRASS. At least my body responded to things like drifter > pdx drifter > DDD and some midstring atomic runs.
edit: I love footbag.
- - haven't written that in a while, eh? Peace

I may. Either as a full-time or part-time. I need to get a BA in comp sci now and if I go back to Siena I won't have to take core classes because I've already taken them. But I won't be coming back till the spring. Unless I take summer courses. But we'll see. I still haven't really figured it all out yet.
played today. Better than yesterday. Some interesting revamping of my stepping and some tweaking with my atomic and spinning whirls.
my plan is to go home to Syracuse tomorrow night after a nice dinner with my roommates and some other people and then I can just take a nice short trip to Rochester Friday and get there entirely way too early. GRASS has come literally in the nick of time. Both my bags are completely gone. The bag I made is the best one and it got ran over by a truck today
still playable. But dirty as hell. And bigger than I'd like. The mosher bag, though playable, is losing fill and is too light for my taste. Both are in desperate need of a bath but I think it's time to retire them. So I'm going to shred tomorrow with them as my farewell and then set them on my Tower of Footbag I have in my room.
I have a waylon bag reserved for me come Friday. I'm going to search out Waylon and shove money into his hand and take the bag. I NEED A BAG!!! - - I wouldn't mind buying another too. Maybe Ian has a bag he could sell me. I like his work. We'll see. I haven't had a footfighter in a while and those are always reliable. I'm sure there will be a box and a half of those there.
yay GRASS!
And now? A happy quotation:
"The happiest people seem to be those who have no particular
cause for being happy except that they are so."

my plan is to go home to Syracuse tomorrow night after a nice dinner with my roommates and some other people and then I can just take a nice short trip to Rochester Friday and get there entirely way too early. GRASS has come literally in the nick of time. Both my bags are completely gone. The bag I made is the best one and it got ran over by a truck today
