Again, doing this because I'm bored and I find math problems to be fun to do. =D
Hmmm... What should I use for a name... Ok, here we go.
Tamaran has $7.20 in change. The total amount of quarters she has is three times more than the amount of nickels she has. The total amount of dimes she has is four times more than the amount of nickels she has. How many nickels, dimes, and quarters does she have?
Answer in about an hour and a half when I come back.
Peace,
Fred.

Ill try to do it using working out
Let nickel = A
A+3A+4A = 7.20
8A =7.20
A = .9
Quarters = $2.70
Dimes = $ 3.60
Nickels = 90cents
I dont know how much a quarter is (im assuming 25cent coin) or the others are. So thats my final answer.

Q/4+D/10+N/20 = 7.2
Q = 3N
D = 4N
Plug and chug
3N/4 + 4N/10 + N/20 = 7.2
.75N + .4N + .05N = 7.2
1.2N = 7.2 --------------> N = 6... 6 nickels
Plug and chug again
Q = 3N = 18 ... 18 quarters
D = 4N = 24 ... 24 dimes
Good old algebra. Math always works out.

Well you never answered
but I thought its funny that someone said the quarters added to 2.70 after he assumed that a quarter was 25 cents.

You're 2 years and an hour and a half late to posting the answer.
You lose.
