Write up time.
Day 1: April 16th, 2008
First I wake up and I'm all like... I dunno. Neutral. Not excited at all. I went to my mom's the night before and dominated monopoly. Finished packing in the morning. I dread flying. Really I do. It fucks with my ears so much.
Get to the airport no problem. Get to Chicago no problem. Wait 3 extra hours no problem (which includes a humongous dump I left for the indigenous peoples). I gots ta call Paul since he's my ride from the airport and he says that's cool. Maybe I should have called CiC and shredified or something. That wouldn't have worked. It took me forever to find my gate.
Arrive in Rochester with very few problems. I still hate flying.
Snag a ride with Paul A. We drop by for an errand real quick (shh it's a secret) and then we head over to his place.
It's pretty bachelor-paddy. I love it. There are like 5 bedrooms or some crazy shit like that. After a while of watching Discovery channel and eating Wheat Thins and off-brand Fig Newtons (those are both trademarked you plagiarising bastards) we decide to shred a bit. This was my best session of the whole tournament. I had one lik 15 contact genuine run with barfly>ducking clipper bsos I think. Plus some other stuff. GENUINE! It was really good. I wish we would have had the camera out. Other than that though I didn't play spectacular. Good enough to be satisfied that I would play well for the tournament though. Boy was I wrong.
After a few hours of doing uhh... nothing (actually I think Paul showed me some of his sweet ass music)? Chris Dean came over and we had a little pants session while Paul watched. Afterwards we played Rock Band (also trademarked) which I totally blow donkey asshole at.
Then we went and watched some raw footage of RFA and then I slept. And slept.
Day 2: April 17th, 2008.
Wake up around 11. Chris is in the futon (with no blanket because apparently I was sleeping on it, sorry Chris). We watch some TV. I have no idea what we watched. Uhhh. probably Discovery channel again.
After a bit Chris and I go shred for reals (Paul is off to class I believe). My second best session of the tournament. Once again, no camera. Whatevs, yo.
After that we went and got some huge ass sandwiches and powerade. Which I used for a water bottle for the rest of the tournament. Matt K. got his cooties on it. Maybe that'll learn me some pdx blender.
Chris went off to work while I watched tennis (Serena WIlliams kicked the shit out of Sharapova, which I didn't like

).
Paul came home after a while and we just chilled. And chilled. And ssschiillleeed. BTW I appreciate your hospitality Paul. Very much.
The rest of the day is boring I believe? Wait, no. Paul and I have a session which he films. It was like 45 minutes long I think. Not very good but whatever. Yay! Day 3, where the fun REALLY begins!
Day 3: April 18th, 2008.
Wake up around 10:30 and wait for Paul to wake up (which takes a while

) and we (mostly Paul) clean up a little bit and then head off to the event site to find Colin. We search for a while and then we kinda give up (sorry Colin, you travelled too far for us to care about you!!!)
I shred a little bit (if you can call it that, it was mostly alternating clippers and shit) and then Pat Thomsen arrives. YAY FOOTBAGGERS!!! Uhh, we don't shred right off but we kinda skip around trying head stalls and stuff. We were expecting to help Paul set stuff up but were sorta shuffled off to the side and didn't help at all.
So after a while we just went a shredified outside. It was way nicer than inside. The gym surface sucked (sorry guys). I don't remember much of anything that I hit. I think this was when I started playing bad. Maybe it coincides with my lace breaking. I look down at my shoe and it's all loose and stuff. So I check it out and my lace is just snapped in half. What the fuck. I mean, seriously. My heart just sank. That's sort of overdramatic but I was SOOO pissed. I think I hid it pretty well though. I played barefoot and then Matt showed up.
Matt played a bit in his crappy ass shoes. I think he hit spinning blender in them? He's good. I hope oodles of videos come out of him, for people will be amazed! I think Danny shows up a bit after Matt does. He has really good form, he just needs to snag some more variety from the variety fairy.
I think Aric is modding his climas and I tell him my laces broke and he's like, "Do you want to borrow some?" and I'm like, "REALLLYYLLLYY??!?!?!?!?!" So I put some clima laces on my right shoe. I lace them normally which kinda sucks and makes my strong toe suck the rest of the day.
Here are some highlights from the shred this day (not all footbag-related)
- Johnny. Oh my godddd his style. He was trying crispy whirling swirl I think with a bag Matt just found and picked up and he swirled the bag into the bleachers. Luckily Johnny Superman (pun intended) went in and retrieved it.
- Mathieu getting mad because it was his bag.

- Johnny's style. Good lord.
- Matt Kemmer. He played so well on Friday, you have no idea. Actually you probably will. I think a few people filmed.
- Ianek's awesome fancy moves.
- Danny's form. And his bulging muscles. WTF dude?
- Paul busting his ankle.
Ugh. That's enough for now. I'll do the end of day 3 (which includes the party and food with Will and Matt).
