Hackrifice 10: A DECADE of Footbag in Winnipeg! UPDATES P.10

Post by hacksterbator »

It's been 10 years since the first Hackrifice footbag tournament was held in Winnipeg back in '99, and 10 years since the inception of Hackrifice F.C. in 1998. While other Canadian events have come and gone we've managed to survive an entire decade of events, thanks mostly to the dedication of a small group of prairie kickers who, come september, drive 30+ hours down the most desolate strip of highway known to man for our weekend event.
For our decennial anniversary, we want to throw the best weekend event we can to say THANK YOU to those kickers past and present who gave us a reason to keep throwing our jam. We also wish to invite every one across Canada, the USA, and the world to come out and celebrate our 10th birthday in style!

Dang... Every year I'm like "Really want to make it out to Hackrifice this time!" but I'll be in Europe. The following several years, however... I'll hopefully get accepted to U of W in a couple months, which means that I'll be living in the peg for a few years. THEN I'll finaly be able to make it out to Hackrifice. Can't tell you how excited I am for university.

If I can have a couch to crash on, I'm 101% for sure gonna be there. If there is no couch for me then the chance drops to 100%.

Hmmm should I combine this with a trip to visit my parents? :D (btw I don't have to play footbag to go right?)

I like people getting married, it's great! That out ward expression of love, telling the whole world how you feel, the binding of 2 souls for eternity...

that being said, most marriages end in divorce these days. you should tell them to skip the expensive lawyers, the extravagant honeymoon and the painful heart ache and cut to the messy divorce and joint custody.

(i kid, i kid. enjoy the wedding, but if something changes you know where to find us!)

Yes! Yes, you should combine it with a trip to visit your parents! Actually Jon, we have unanimously decided that you have a by through all preliminary rounds of routines, and are going to be seeded in first place for the finals show. We figure why waste your time when we all know that's where you'll end up, what with pose style being so hot right now. So, at the very least, you'll have to play for 2 minutes before we hand over the first place trophy.

I am planning to make this trip with Kristina.
Do you need a passport to travel by plane within Canada?

I'm going to consider putting a routine together :D

I was just looking up plane ticket prices and $750 is the cheapest I could find for leaving various cities and across various dates. that price alone makes this trip impossible not to mention $80 for a passport. any tips on low plane ticket costs?

edit: I found one for $393 which is affordable through studentuniverse.com, but in a month I will no longer be a student. Does anyone know how that works?
