Footbag testimonials

Post by Muffinman »

I thought it would be neat to have a thread all about really positive personal experiences in footbag. When I tell people about footbag or try to get people into playing, I really like to tell stories about the great feelings of satisfaction from hitting a new trick, or the amazing, accepting, friendly community. I think it would be great to have random quotes from players all over the world, saying positive things about footbag.
Maybe some great [new and upcoming??] footbag website could use the "best" quotes in a random generator or something...

So a quote would could be anything, from a long story about how you got into footbag to a little sentence, like, "Footbag saved my life.", like I've heard a lot of times. Good little snippets to get new people to better appreciate the sport.

Really cool idea, Erik. I'll write something in here later, when it's not like one million o'clock and time for me to sleep.

I can contribute something here.

I remember before i started playing freestyle. I was staying inside all the time, playing video games and eating. I was in such bad shape, and very anti-social. Ever since i started playing though, thanks to a friend at school, i can't imagine what life would be without footbag. Footbag has made me a better person, and it's great fun to play. The feeling of hitting a new trick is magnificent, especially when you've been working hard on it for weeks. It's just fun gradually learning new concepts, and discovering new ways to incorporate them into your freestyle. Footbag is like poetry for the body, and it's diversity in players styles and forms is what makes the sport so great. Footbag changed my life for the better, and i know it'll just keep getting better.

Hope thats alright, true story :P

A random stranger joined a late night hack circle that I was a part of. After some toe stalls and pendulums, I asked him to stop playing around and show us his stuff. He blew my mind. I've been playing for almost a year now, and recently met up with another footbagger who lives in town. This guy turns out to be close friends with the same guy that got me into freestyle. Too bad he's currently on the other side of Canada. Otherwise we'd have a decent sized footbag group here in North Bay.

All the best reasons to play can't be explained :(

But you can always say its great exercise.
