Desk Chair Mats

I got a desk chair mat recently for practicing for stickhandling on carpet. Has anyone ever tried using one for shredding? Seems like it would be a good alternative for people playing indoors on carpet, protecting the carpet and providing a more substantial surface. Mine is 4'x5'. I'm guessing perhaps 2 mats would be a good amount of space.

They usually do stick to carpet very well, especially when theres something weighing them down. Theres really no need for them in my house, but I could see myself using them if my basement was carpeted or something.
