Hot Trick (New idea for online FUN TIME)
Hot Trick (New idea for online FUN TIME)
I had this idea a while ago, but I was inspired to actually post it as a competition by Jorden's post about "Bails" (found in Development of Shred thread).
Probably the easiest trick to start on is osis. This is a competition to see who can do the prettiest 4 osises. It will be a very subjective judging system, but I think it will encourage good form. It's a low amount of repetitions in order to ensure that somebody with low consistency and good form can still compete effectively. If your osis is entirely innefective (impossible to hit anything out of), it doesn't matter at all. The objective is to have the best looking osis. The idea is that we can showcase a simple BOP as a unique, styley, beautiful move. SO! Tweak your form, experiment with your style, develop the best looking osis you can and post it in the video thread. (See bottom of this post)
I don't really know how to host an online comp, but if people were to just post vids in the thread, we can come up with a judging system. Videos should all be posted on the same day, and let it be known that it is BAD FORM to look at other people's videos before posting your own. We're relying on the honor system in this department.
Date of submission for everyone's videos: MAY 1st
This is just an idea... maybe it's been done before. We can build on it. Any ideas are welcome, keeping in mind the central focuss of the event: Good Form/Style. We can try a different trick next time, for example: Zulu Clipper, or clip[set] Drifter. What are people's thoughts?
Start working on your Osis now, but save your video and post it anytime on MAY 1st!!

I don't know if I'll do this or not. I just fixed my osis, and I just started playing in g-units and they're kind of hard to get used to, so it depends on how I feel. Do you mean consecutive osii, or just like 4 osii in a string, or like just 4 separate ones? You never really specified how you wanted them.
You're right. sorry
I meant 4 consectuvie osises. (Plural becomes i when the word ends in "us" ...ex: Cactus ............................pretty sure that's how it works)
Also, if anyone would like to volounteer to judge this event, I would appreciate it. I dunno how to judge who's qualified to juge though... just tell me if you're qualified

Amateurs practice until they can get it right.
Professionals practice until they can't get it wrong.
No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

It's not really fair to have only one judge and it makes winning pretty illegitamet. I think we'll switch it up for the first run-through of this comp and have the judging open to the public. ie: no official ranking system. Just a collection of people's oppinions. If the idea catches on, we'll have judges at some point down the road... sorry, Mat. We don't need you just yet. thanks anyway
wanna compete instead?
PS: Everyone, try to get as many people as you can to compete. It'll make this comp that much more worthewhile if more people participate.

I would rather keep the tricks super basic and elementary, just because the style with which you do basic moves dictates the rest of your game more than a more advanced/specific trick.
I would like to do either infinities, legovers, ducking clippers, or (if you guys want to try this comp with a harder trick) clip[set] drifters. You guys can have a couple days to agree on one (even if it's not from this list)... if we can't decide by monday, I'll pick one. That just keeps it simple... Next comp will be next thursday. Shall we make it a weekly thing? If you want to make a list for the trick of the week for the rest of May, we could do that.

lol, I just suck at blenders and I already got killed by everyone's rankings in osis... I don't really want to do another osis based trickIsilwar wrote:Drifter, if we can't do blender.
An important point about the tricks we choose for this comp is that the trick is set from one foot and caught on the other. This way it stays balanced and nobody can just stick to their strongside -- we automatically have to see the difference between strong and flip. So, please choose symmetric tricks for this comp.
