Comments on Dan Ednie's routine,

I really enjoyed the intro. It reminded me that you can just play tiltless but still match the music perfectly. Dan would mute certain moves, add extra movement to simple stalls, and use kicks, to make it seem like he was genuinely dancing with that footbag. Awesome opener.

I am sad to say though that the rest of the routine bored me. To me it seemed like Dan sort of went just went through the motions from then on. I think Dan did the best he could but the music just didn't work very well. It wasn't very dynamic, so a lot of the choreography found itself being blended in and not standing out in the end. The tempo also seemed difficult to synch up to, so that also detracted from the flow of it. Thats not to say that it was impossible for choreography to be noticed, the symple swirl, and stepping inside kick for example, stood out to me.

Technically speaking the routine was good, minimum drops and some high difficulty moves throughout the routine. The intro was good, but a routine needs a strong ending also. Otherwise a solid performance, keep it up :D (but get a new song).

Just to add to this topic, ive uploaded the Open and Intermediate Routines in full to Ausfootbag.org. They are in 16:9 Widescreen so adjust your media player display accordingly.
You can access them in this gallery:
