Suggestions for a talent show
Hi, I've entered a talent show for my school on May 10th. I can hit many 2 adds and a few 3 adds and like three 4 adds. My main problem is stringing all of the tricks together. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on certain tricks to do that would be easier to string but still look good (like maybe the stalling on the back and doing a handstand or stalling on the chest). I know a lot of people say ducking and spinning is very appealing. I can duck from toe to clipper and like ducking mirages but i'm still having trouble ducking from clipper to clipper. Any help would be appreciated because i need to do this to kind of assess where I am in my game right now

get some awesome but not too aggressive techno.
I'd go for 20 seconds of kicks, 10 consec alternating toe stalls, 10 consec alternating inside stalls, 10 consec alternating clippers, 10 butterflies, some ducking clippers, then a few toe stalls to rest. Then, 6-10 alternating osis, then some ss osis (cool spinning effect) on both feet. then, toe stall, get off balance, look like you're really dizzy, then pretend to wipe some sweat from your forehead, smile at the audience, and continue.
Do some freestyle tiltless (ONLY solid stuff. ONLY). Throw in a double ATW if you can, and end with pendulum over the head to hand catch.
it won't be very long, but I think it will look good, and keep attention.

Definitely concentrate on not dropping. That's so key for a performance. It just looks bad if you drop. bailing to WHATEVER is way better. Also, 5 minutes might be kind of long, even if you were, like, Vasek, shredding fearless for 5 minutes straight... I don't know. Because it will all mostly look the same to them, right?
Try not to get hooked up on tricks or elements that you are not 100% confident with. Maybe try them a couple times, like, near the end if they are crowd-pleasers. That's my downfall.
I used the song, "Astounded" by Bran Van 3000 for a school demo and the kids FLIPPED over it. They loved it so much. A whole bunch asked me the song name after. I highly recommend it. It's very happy and footbaggy.

Be funny and make a connection with the audience.
Like if you play in tiny shorts, go up on the stage with jeans on and then take them off. Start playing a bit (with the kicks or whatever) and then when there's a break in the song take your shorts off with smaller shorts underneath.
That was a hit at my talent show.
Also, never get mad. If you drop just shrug and keep going.

I'm a fan of watching routines where players have more than one bag, so if they drop, they have another in their hand to use, instead of bending over to pick up the bag. For me, that's just a preference, but the audience may not notice you dropped the bag or something, or think it was on purpose or something. Just something to think about.

Well get that shit in, son.
All the advice in this thread was excellent. Also, I know it's just a talent show, but I saw a video of Clavens presenting footbag to an audience and I thought he was great. Maybe you'll be able to give the gift of freestyle footbag to a few people's lives by explaining the basics of the sport and sharing how you got into it. I wouldn't have suggested this if it was shorter than 5 minutes, but that's a long time to be baggin' for an audience.
Edit: Good luck!

Woo, it turns out they just never told me about the rehearsal but i'm still in it. Yeah, with the explaining everything, I won't be doing it this time, but I am hoping to do it in the future at my school. And I already told the person that it was only going to be three and a half minutes long. but thank you
