So this topic should be in Online Competitions forum too, no? Anyone object to that?

We're supposed to judge these now right?

Well, all of this is my opinion on style preference so don't take any of it personally. I would say that I like mine the best though. Only because I'm so pretty.

I like Eoghan's the next best. I think the set out of them is a bit too close and a bit too far behind you, though. I also don't really like the super scoop feeling of the crank and stuff. You can't fix that though and once again it's only preference. Your form is fine, you have the proper knee cushion and such.

I like Ben's next. They're really unique. A lot of people said that they didn't like them in one of your past vids I think? They just have the cool pre-scoop thing. I don't think many other people do them quite like you.

And Andrew's. I think they look fine, like nobody is going to call you out on having horrible looking osii or something, but I just think they don't look polished. It's probably just playing time, eventually they'll look great.

Fun contest Ben. What's the next one?! :D

I like Zac's idea of explaining his choices.

I don't like the idea of everyone voting themselves as the best, but I prefer a smoother, more flowwy osis and must therefore rank myself as #1. Vasek showed me his preferred osis motion (without the bag) and whether he meant to do it the way I do it or not, this is my interpretation of it, and I like the way it's headed... needs some more refinements, but I actually like the idea of pulling the osis a little more than average. (watching it again, I think maybe I'm catching the bag too close to my support leg and cushioning it too much with my knees... I'll work on that. Any other critiques?)
1. Ben

My favorite osis out of the whole comp (including all of my own) was Zac's first osis before the actual 4 that counted. :P It really reminded me of Matt Cross (in fact, with the low quality picture, lack of light on your face, and the hat; I thought you were Matt Cross at first). You have that smooth flowwy osis that I like. I think it's made choppier that it has to be by just a little too much upper body motion... I think this is what I'm seeing. Maybe it would be even smoother if you trusted it a little more, rather cranking around so much to look at it. I think maybe you're hopping a little bit too much. Lots of hop makes your shuffle (and pretty much the rest of your game) look bouncy and energetic, but osis (IMO) should be more chill. It's just a thought. I dunno. Do 'em more like that first osis, man! It was so good...
2. Zac

(Plural of Osis is Osises, as Thesis = Thesises. Plural becomes i when the last letter before the s is u -- ex: cactus = cacti) <--I'm pretty sure :P
Andrew's osises were a bit varied. I think one of them was a bit of a slop (compared to the others) in order to regain balance. I liked your 1st, 2nd and 4th, but I think you whipped yourself around a bit too much for the 3rd. I like the flow that the rest of your osises had. I almost ranked you second, but I think the 3rd osis throws off the pattern of nice chill osisizing you had going.
3. Andrew

More good flow from Taylor. I liked your osises (cought) on your left foot best. I think your knee position is cramping your form a tiny bit, hence the 4th place rank, IMO. Maybe try waiting for the bag a little more before you turn, too. ...that's how I like osises anyway. There are different perceptions (obviously) of what makes a good osis. I think that a choppier osis (like with an equaly substantial amount of time between set>turn>catch) is prolly more functional (alot easier to set out of... although I think it's harder to learn osis that way), it's just my personal preference of smoother, pullier osis (like with only a fraction of the time between the turn>catch as there is between set>turn. ie: you almost catch the bag before you turn). Anyway, good entry. Thanks for competeing
4. Taylor

Eoghan's osis perfectly embodies a highly functional osis. I wouldn't exactly call it choppy either. I think your crank makes it look better. I'll bet you could learn stepping out of osis and zooming sets alot more easily out of that osis than out of a pullier (more pulled) osis. I do, however, think that it would look better if you waited until you had nearly caught the bag before you turned, and you pulled the osis a bunch more. People often try to avoid pulling dexes and stuff, but I think it makes an osis look better... it's purely an issue of aesthetics. Your osis were very consistent though, and your body motions seemed to flow... It's just the issue of where/when you caught the osis and when you turned that take away from it, IMO.
5.Eoghan

but it's all good. I've heard a lot of people say that my osis is crap and that I need to change it... so, everyone, take my advice/critiques with a grain of salt.

I like pretty bouncy/choppy looking osises (sorry ;)). I think I got it from watching a lot of DC footage.

It seems like everybody has a different view on these, it's pretty interesting. Also, I'm surprised nobody did osis>far osis rpt just to be a dick. :P
