I got datw out-in today in socks. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Tomorrow flip. I didn't really do anything today though, because my legs are beat and I fell on my hip in gym today. So I'm going to rest a couple days. Then I'm going to buckle down on clippers.

After Friday, no more stupid APUSH homework (or at least no more 3 hour outlines). I've been staying up till like 12 every night this week, and I can barely stay awake in school. Only 1 more day then the AP test, so I'm happy with that. Tomorrow I'm going to bed at like 7 pm, I swear.

Yay, no more fucking apush. I don't know how I did on that AP test. I hope I got a 3, because I don't want to do anymore of that bullshit again later in life

I played with Jake over in Geneva Commons today, then we went and saw Speed Racer. People in Geneva Commons don't even bother to look at you, whether you're playing crazy awesome hacky sack or just asking them a question. It's all a bunch of yuppie douchebags in Hollister clothes sipping their stupid Jamba Juice bullshit and eating California Pizza Kitchen, not because it's good, but because it says "California" in the name. Speed Racer was AWESOME. HOLY FUCK. Oh my God I loved that movie soooooo damn much! GAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!

The movie kind of got me thinking though, what my purpose in playing footbag is. I was playing at home afterward, and the one part of the movie popped up in my head, when Racer X or whatever asked Speed "What do you race for?" or something like that. Well, I took like a 5 minute break from playing, and just started thinking about why I play footbag. As silly as it sounds, I kind of came up with something good to think about. When I started playing, I thought that I really wanted to be in BAP, and before that, I thought that I wanted to be the best in the world. Vasek is the best in the world because he pushed himself hard and not only bettered himself, but bettered the sport as a whole. I feel like once he's done playing (who knows when that'll happen) there will be no best in the world, because there will be no one to dictate what is "the best" anymore. I think many different styles will erupt, especially with all the talk of playing genuine, and there won't be a "best." And that's when the sport will truly become a form of art. Everyone will play how they want to play, rather than ADD hunting. And when it becomes an art, you won't be able to say "Jorden is better than Clavens" or vice versa, because it'll all be opinionated. I mean, you really can't say that one artist or painter or writer or poet is better than anyone else, because everyone likes different things. Personally, I think that simple, more emotional music catches my ear better than any of that fast, virtuoso bullshit that some people put out and call "music." So those are my current, simplified thoughts on that. But I don't want to be the best in the world anymore, and I don't want to make BAP. I'll do some thinking about it later, but right now that's what I'm thinking about. But the more I think about it, the more confused I become. Oh well.

I had some really good highlights today, but I have too many to recount. I'll just say a couple though.

Speed Racer was so good. Let's go see it again.

Racer X: Every one of us has to find a reason to do this. You don't climb into a T-180 to be a driver. You do it because you're driven.

I think I played for like 3 and a half hours today. By the end, I could barely walk back inside. The last drill almost killed me. It's all good though.

There were a couple more challenges I could've definately finished had I not been so exhausted. I also hit flip phoenix a couple times today, as well as torque once or twice. My clipper form is feeling loads better. Atomic is still so-so, and I've still only hit atomsmasher once.

I can't sleep, mostly because I went to sleep at like 5 today and just woke up around an hour and a half ago. My legs hurt a little from yesterday's session. I'm going thru the video subforum right now, just looking at a bunch of old videos I've never seen before. I'm really starting to like videos that are focusing more on the atmosphere and a certain vibe than just some hardcore footbag with music that doesn't go with it. They just really appeal to me, and they're easier for me to watch. That's the kind of video I'm going to make next, a conceptual based video. I don't know how I'm going to do it yet, or anything specific, but that's just what I know I should do. I'll probably make it in a couple months or so. I don't know when actually, just whenever I feel the time is right. That's really all I have to say.

I played in downtown Batavia with Jayke today. I got pretty pissed off at the end of the session because I couldn't hit anything. My clipper form's getting better. I've started to use a mr. sandbag to play with, because when my clippers aren't flat, it rolls off more than all my other bags. Osis needs a lot of tweaking, because that was rolling off a lot.

After that, I went to church and Jake went to work. I felt like passing out during church, from exhaustion and hunger. I'm not the religious kind, but I don't want to face the inevitable murder my family will commit when I tell them I don't believe in God. So I just go to church and keep my mouth shut. I find certain things to do in church, like think of footbag and like, count things. Like the number of bald people in the congregation. I like listening to the one priest's homilies though, because he's a really good speaker and they have little to do with God and focus more on the real world. Today he was talking about happiness, and how true happiness is suffering. Not like suffering for Jesus; he mentioned the arguements that family members have, and stuff like that and how it really is just hidden love. Which makes sense, because having a family and a good job and going thru all those little troubles is a lot better than "fake" happiness, which would take the form of drugs, gambling, porn, etc. that makes you 'temporarily' happy and empty on the inside. It's just something to think about and put into perspective.

I'm almost about to reach my 'one year' mark of playing, and I think I should reflect on how far I've come and what I want to achieve. But I'll do that later. Probably June 1st.

This week has been hard. I just don't feel it. I've been so narrowly focused on form that the rest of my game just seems dead. I feel like I can't hit anything. And I'm getting to the point where I don't know what to do or what to drill. I'll be like "I'm going to drill illusions" then I'll try some illusions then decide I can't do them then and there, so I'll jump around. I need 2 things:
1)more motivation.
2)focus

I can't really think today so that's all I feel like writing down.

I can relate. My parents didn't know I was an atheist until my brother told them about a year and a half ago. But we used to get into fights about going to church all the time when I lived at home. Its good you can find something of value in the sermons... the churches we went to were of the Batshit Charismatic/Fundamentalist/Evangelical/Non-Denomenational denomination.

Remember to let yourself just play for fun sometimes, even if your goal is continuous improvement.

Ok, sounds good. How's Geneva Commons? Or better yet, how about Batavia? I actually really enjoyed playing there. Jake and I played at one park that was right by the river and had some bronze statue of kids playing ring around the rosie. It'd probably have to be early(er) in the morning (or course, not tooo early)

This isn't related, but I just discovered the band Flogging Molly, and they fucking rock. Oh my God. I can't stop listening to them. I recommend them to anyone and everyone. Listen to their song "Seven Deadly Sins." It's so cool.
