didn't we agree to every thursday? sorry if that wasn't made clear. Now everyone knows for next thursday! (It'll be infinities next thursday)

FILM SOME DRIFTERS! Remember that it's bad form to watch other entries before submitting your own. that's okay though, Paul. Quick, post a vid!

I don't know if everyone is judging, but here's my vote.

Winner: Matt K.
Ben Skaggs

Amateurs practice until they can get it right.
Professionals practice until they can't get it wrong.

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

Yeah, I had Matt winning before it began.

1. Matt. I really like the whirly-type beginning to your drifters. They look really powerful and downtimey. Only thing I don't like is your arm moving on the one side.

2. Paul. They're similar to Matt's, with less whirly-type thing. I also like the no-arm movement.

3. Zac. I like low-set drifters as well, dunno why.

4. Josh. I don't think I like lots of crank drifters unless they're Vasek's. ;)

5. Ben. I thought there was too much hop, and the set was too high. All opinion though. It's weird because I really like your style when you're just playing.

6. Eoghan. I thought they just looked a bit out of control. They'll get better with time though, and props on your first time.

this vote cannot be included in the actual ranking scheme. Sorry Matt. Please rank every player from best to worst if you'd like to participate, Ben. He does have nice drifters though

That being said, I rank Zac's the best. I think of drifters having a lot of pop to them; like a torque (higher set, more explosive-controlled motion), as opposed to pdx mirage which is smaller and more reserved. I like his style of drifters best.
1. Zac

Crank is so sweet. I had no idea that Drifters could look like Eoghan's. Although I said I like lots of pop, you have a very unique and cool style of drifter. It's like your leg slithers through the motions of a drifter and just pokes out at the bottom in time to catch the bag. pretty sweet...
2. Eoghan

Nice drifters, Paul. Your strongside ones look almost exactly how I like them. The only question is that your flipside drifters look slightly less controlled, and that makes the whole thing look a little less consistent. It's very slight though... maybe it's just in the position of your dexing leg. I think it looks better when the ankle gets flexed and ready for the catch before the dex. It just makes the trick look more powerful and assertive. ...if you can imagine a trick with these qualities. hah, I dunno. I like your style
3. Paul

I've worked a lot on drifters and I like the way I do them now more than I like my old ones. But my hand position was pretty distracting and awkward looking... still, I like the more explosive/ high-energy drifter more than a lower more subtle drifter.
4. Ben R

Although you do drifters contrary to how I like to see them, they are very consistent and inarguably smooth. Really good form. I'd just like to see you set higher and put a little more into your drifters, for aesthetic purposes. The drifter you use now is prolly more condusive to longer strings and ease of use, but I'm supposed to be judging you on my oppinion of what looks best.
5. Matt K.

I really like your clipper positioning, Josh! Way out away from your support leg. that gives you more room for windows and more crank. I think you looked tired and your drifters looked a little less controlled than some of the other entries. Try flexing your dexing leg more and getting it into a solid, unchanging Drifter shape that just sweeps across the front of your body and catches the bag. I dunno if that makes sense, but it's what I think of as a goal for cool drifters. ...unless you wanna do'em like Eoghan. His are basically the opposite this, but they look pretty cool. Like another angle on cool drifters.

Ok.....

1. Matt K.
2. Ben, Eoghan, Josh, Paul, Zac

I honestly think everyone's drifters looked equally good, with Matt's drifters standing out as the "hottest".

lol

Sorry, Ben. That's just not how it works. If you want to rank everyone, that'd be great. The way the scoring system works, sadly your last couple posts cannot be included in the final rankings. Technically, the points could just be added up and used without much problem, but I just don't want people to start ranking people like: 1st place, these contestants, 2nd place this contestant, and 3rd place everyone else. It just gets too wishy washy. All this modern "non-compeditive" games are turning us into a bunch of softies! In order to make the results the most interesting / meaningful, it should be 1 person for each rank.

I know it's tough though. I think all the entries are pretty close, even though some of them are totaly different than others. Interesting.

It's very close between everyone. I might participate in the infinities since that's actually doable for me. Four alternating drifters looks really impressive!

that'd be great if you participiated in the infinities comp. Make sure you've got your vid ready and posted THIS THURSDAY. That's the day after tomorrow. :P

Anyway... PLEASE!! We need more people to vote!! At least all the players should vote. For next week it will be mandatory for each participant to vote, just because there's not enough interest from the rest of the community. So please, everyone vote, and get everyone you know to vote too. The competition becomes more legit with each vote, and it gains purpose. 'Specially when you back up your vote with reasons for each decision. It becomes more of a learning experience for each player.
