So after all that pouting up above I wound up having a SOLO SESSION today! hah!

I havn't had one in recent memory! I have only played once since GRASS and it actually felt REALLY good to play!

I spent alot of time drilling but also heaps of just plain shredding because it feels so good.

I even filmed a Stephen Barnes One-Shot run!

Rah! Shred!

I am SO excited for TO Jam. I am even more excited by the fact that I had nothing to do with organizing this local event!

This was also posted yesterday near the end of that page.

I really can't describe how excited this trailer gets me. I have never looked forward to seeing anything half as much as I look forward to seeing this.

I really hope my part comes out okay. It's an unfamiliar feeling for me to just completely let go of the reigns and let someone else take control.

It's a sacrifice I am willing to take because I get to get some major exposure on this.

I found out last night that MSJ3 and CMWCXI are on the same weekend, fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck offfffffffffffffffffffff.

MSJ3 of course being the third montreal spring jam and CMWCXI being the 11th running of the cycle messengers world championships! Oh, and the CMWC is in fucking TORONTO. DAMMIT.

What the shit am I supposed to do??? I have MANY reasons I REALLY want to go to montreal, but sitting here in Toronto is a really really really good opportunity for me to impress some potential sponsors. Waaahhhh!!

I don't know what to do yet. There are a few very specific details floating about that may determine things when they become clear.

I would rather have this dilemma than be totally bored I guess..

Oh yeah, and I am REALLY REALLY tempted to drive down to NYC on May 31st for the premiere of Bootleg Sessions v2.

And in fact, that may make going to MSJ3 more viable because I could link up with the potential sponsors in NYC instead of TO.

Whee!

So you're featured in this Bootleg Sessions movie? That'd be awesome. I really liked your bike trick in your last post too. If you do decide to go to NYC that weekend, post in your blog first, because I'm contemplating going that weekend too, and itd be fun to sneak in a shred together.

dude, so sick. on saturday i participated in a dusktildawn scavenger hunt put on by cycle jerks here in denver. SO FUN. one of my teammates was actually a courier here in town (i think they're kind of sparse now that businesses don't actually like, need them at all). we rode hard as fuck all night and did pretty well (i thought) but still got like 16th place or something. lame. buT SO FUN YAY BIKES.

what ratio are you riding being able to do crazy wheelies and all that shit?

SKB - I am running 43/17, double prime! As an ambiskidder I have 34 skid patches!

Though from doing all those spins I have worn through my tire.

I keep meaning to update this. The last time I was all motivated to write a ton in here I couldn't connect to the internet and got discouraged. haha

My sitch is basically that I have been working really hard on my bike stuff, playing alot in Toronto with bike friends and I've actually started playing footbag again!

My plan right now is to get an entry level mechanical engineering job in Toronto, move there for a while and live it up in the big city. This will allow me to still be close to home to help them with stuff but also it will be sweet to be a swinging bachelor in a big city. Also, this will be my first time making grown-up type money, it should be nice to not have to worry about bills so much anymore. Also, I am going to have SO many bike parts! haha

Stuff with Pengpeng has reached a nice state. We are best friends and we still talk almost every day on the phone. I feel sucky when I've gone too long without talking to her, I feel like I have to tell her everything I've done or I have all these loose ends dangling.

She wants to move to Las Vegas for a crazy job being a hacker for a big company, but there already seems to be trouble brewing, I hope she handles it all well.

I need to go to sleep.

I leave for NYC Friday, whee!

I am staying with Hugh Martin, a friendship first formed in first year of engineering, then rejuvenated via footbag. It will be great to see him, he's really an incredible guy! He was top of the class in engineering then dropped out and went into english/acting and then totally excelled at that too. I went to see some of his performances and they were amazing. What a guy!

Night! :)

Oh, and I meant to say that I still plan to move to Berlin eventually, but it isn't possible without money and getting an engineering job there without any experience would have been very hard. So, I will save up a pile of money, gain some experience then find my way over.

I think in the mean time I will still go to worlds and then berlin footbag summer camp.

Hopefully having a real person job will give me the kind of money to do that, though I don't know if I could get the time off so soon.

Anyways, I will burn that bridge when I get to it, or something..

Woo! Great weekend in NYC.

There are lots of pics and I am in the backround of several. :P

Everyone was really nice and fun and they liked me.

I'll probably post more about some of the stuff that went on, like getting stuck in a subway turnstyle cage thing with my bike alone at 4 AM later on.

Today I started a forum for discussing these tricks. I really want to keep it private from the biking community at large, for now, to let it establish a foundation of enthused people.

I am gonna go pick up the pizza we ordered and then watch Bootleg Sessions 2 with my parents. :)

Hey Tom,

I'm sorry that I didn't get to watch your performance in person last weekend. I was feeling a bit sick for most of last week, and I played pretty hard all day Sunday, so much that I got a cramp on one leg and a shin splint on the other.

Glad to hear that you had a great time in NYC. We definitely have to play some footysack together the next time we meet. :)

Hey Champ,

I really look forward to read your write-up (as I always do).
but this is what really made my day reading:
"I think in the mean time I will still go to worlds and then berlin footbag summer camp. "

Thanks! I really like how my part came out, he used a remix of mozart! Though kinda annoyingly, he left out several tough tricks I hit. I will make a youtube video of the shit he missed.

I think Sam Miller's part is the best though, he's such a nice guy. (He came out to NYC last weekend too)

Asmus - I will have to pull alot of strings. No promises, but you know I want to be there!
