Hey my name is Jake and I've just recently been introduced to footbag thanks to my friend Grant (g-money) and now I have become addicted.
Things About Me:
-I'm 17, (18 in September).
-I go to Kaneland High School, where Grant and I have started a revolution that is the Kaneland Footbag Club (KFC).
-I enjoy Running, Motivating Others, Music, Ice water, and Classic Automobiles.
-I'm 6'2 and a tad overweight but in much better physical shape then most.
-I am fascinated with the human mind and personalty and try to learn why we react to things the way we do.
-I wish to pursue a career in Music Recording, and marketing but it seems my choice is still unsure.
-I work at the local Drug Store, and pretty much run the place thanks to my aggressive bossy attitude and speaking abilities.
A little about my thoughts on Footbag:
With my introduction to footbag, it has literally changed my lifestyle. I'm not very good but just to see improvement in the last several weeks or so has been so rewarding and also to see the amount of influence I have put into others just introducing them to the sport is amazing. I try to practice everyday and have already ordered a pair of Rod Lavers to get me going on better stalls and such. Not only is it mentally rewarding, but it also is physically as most of you should already know. I feel like I have more energy and just playing also takes stress off the mind.
What I can do:
When I first started I could do little more than 3-4 kicks on a good string and those were with bad posture and little control, Now I average 8-14 consecutive hits with a much better posture and control of the bag. Although I'm not that fantastically good yet I can see myself getting better, and that in itself is rewarding.

Today marked some highs and lows, not really in records but more as of that in equipment.
Lets start with the Negative:
Today during gym we were given a free day, due to the laziness of our teacher, and I took the chance to do some shredding. Although about 5 minutes into my session, I had been playing close to the wall where a series of mats hang up and I kicked the bag up above the mats and it just so happened to land in a small hole where it was impossible to reach. I was highly upset at the loss of the pink footbag stitched by Grant and was unable to shred for the rest of the class.
Now for the positive:
I got my Rod Lavers in the mail today. So now I'll have much better shoes.
Today marked some highs and lows, not really in records but more as of that in equipment.

Shoes play wonderfully, Toe kicks are soooooo much easier, although we didn't have much time to play in class today. Nothing significant really to point out today, I was scheduled to work but I guess they didn't need me after all so I enjoyed a nice afternoon where I also found my lost phone!

As of yesterday I can now successfully toe stall. Yeah it's not that difficult but I believe it is a big step towards my footbag future.
I've also found myself just barly squeezing practice into my schedule and I'm really looking forward to the long summer days comming up.
Other than that, really nothing significant to note out.
Tips on improving my form, kicks and stalls would be much appreciated!

congrats on toe stalls! every step is an important step in this game.
When learning tricks make sure you learn them on both sides.
Keep your back straight wherever you go, I practiced this and it has stuck since, good posture is something most people in the world can work on.

Bah! I've been so busy lately and have not had any time to practice at all! Summer is going to be nice as for free time.
So here I am sitting in my accounting class just hitting up modified. It's hilarious because my teacher pretty much lets me get away with anything. As everybody else is doing work I'm doing whatever I want. I guess he plays favorites since I'm getting an A. School should be out in 3 weeks but to me it seems that all my classes have taken an easy turn and I have nothing to do during the school day. I sometimes wish I could just play footbag in the middle of school but that is not the case.
Work sucks, They seriously cut down on some major hours and now I'm only getting like 10 hours a week, compared to the previous 25-30 which makes it very difficult for me to pay off the car I just bought along with new tires. I plan on getting a second Job this summer but I'm worried that would cut into my footbag time during the day but I need the money.
I've been busy around the house making the yard look especially great for my parents, and it's surprising how much time it takes just to make that happen. My girlfriend doesn't really seem to like the effect that footbag has on me apparently, I think she believes it takes time from her, so I've come up with a solution to try and get her to join into the fun. (Afterall she is missing alot). That would add to my practice time and also spread the number of players!
Well other than that I don't really have anything to complain about.

It was funny, This police officer parked in the middle of the street and got out of his car and was looking around. At the time we were taking a break and this young kid was skateboarding, I mean the kid was like 10 years old, and the cop glares at the kid and says. "Hey you can't do that here, Get off"
Sometimes I really hate people in positions of power, it's not like the kid was really doing anything wrong, I didn't see a sign or anything that said no Skateboarding... oh well.
I'm in my accounting class right now, I just finished taking my final. Tomorrow is our last day so I'm looking forward to sleeping in and enjoying my days off.
