I really like that genuine run, Ken. Glad things are looking up for you. :)

Remember me?

So it looks like I've finally made it through the gauntlet. Everything's falling into place finally, and I feel like my recent sacrifices and hard work are paying off. I learned that I got an A in 3 out of my 4 classes, including my thesis. I got to play footbag tonight, my first session in 10 days. Feels like it was even longer. In that 10 day span I had 2 job interviews, I turned in my thesis, and I wrote final papers for 2 other classes. I also started my summer job and helped my girlfriend move into my apartment for the summer. It's been a very busy 10 days.

Playing tonight felt good and bad. I missed playing, so I really enjoyed doing even the most basic tricks. My stamina felt really low though, and a lot of times I felt like my legs didn't know where they needed to be. I even tweaked my ankle on a barfly, but luckily I crumpled fast enough that it didn't take too much weight. I think it's fine. I was lucky that it wasn't the ankle that I've twisted in the past.

After warming up I mostly went for genuine runs. I like genuine; its a challenge for me to play genuine without getting real predictable, but that's part of the fun. I also enjoyed doing a Stephen Barnes 1shot.

Here's a run from tonight:

Gonna look into tix to US Open tomorrow. Hope I can go. Worlds is out of the question.

Thanks Bob. I'm just glad that spinning finally seems to becoming part of my game. It only took like, 10 years.

Here's a run with smoke and DLOs on both sides, which I liked:

Not playing for 11 days and then having a long session was rough on my body. Took yesterday off and soaked my legs in hot water, and they were still real stiff today. Vince organized a little demo in Maryland at a toy store, so I went to play footbag with him and Age. The store was kind of small, which was good for me, as it kept me from going too hard. I'm hoping that I'll only need one or two more sessions for my body to fully recover, and get to the point where I can start playing regularly.

I looked into US Open tickets, and was not encouraged by what I saw. :x
Hopefully I'll be able to work something out.

Here's another run from my last shred:

Not much footbag lately, but I intend to remedy that soon. I really want to start playing regularly again. My left ankle, which I rolled a bit on Friday, still feels a little weird. So I'm going to try and ease back into playing and not go too hard.

Last night I went to a baseball game. I had a really good chili dog and a funny tasting beer. I can't recall the last time I saw an MLB game. The game itself was boring though. Give me basketball any day over baseball. Still, a fun night.

Today I got my grades for the semester: straight As! I was a bit surprised by it, but I'll take it. So my final semester of grad school was easily my best semester professionally and academically. It wasn't bad socially either, but I didn't really get out too much. In any case, I feel good to have finished school strong.

In other good news, I took the job with the Department of the Interior. So it looks like my 3 biggest sources of stress over the last few months have all worked out well.

I still need to get tickets to US Open.

Playing footbag now, but I'm still buzzed from a happy hour. I'll take requests for the next hour and check regularly. I'll try and film some too.

In case I didn't make it clear in my last post, I'm a little drunk, so hard requests are less likely to happen. I'll try though. :)

EDIT: I just did my stephen barnes one shot, abnd i was singing along to ELO, so you're forwarned.

I was hoping to go to NYC this weekend, but my hip flexor started hurting out of nowhere, and I couldn't get good bus tix in time, so I decided I'd go up some other weekend.

Gonna give the hip another day's rest, and hopefully get a session in tomorrow. Now that I don't have school or the job search to worry about, I really want to play a lot, so its frustrating that my body isn't up to it.

I also need to get tickets to US Open this weekend. I think I'm gonna go even if its really expensive, because I'm not going to Worlds and I fucking deserve it.

Here's 8 unique toe guiltless from my last shred. Mostly just happy 3 tricks were bsos. I bet I could get in the mid teens unique toe guiltless if I planned it ahead of time.
