Reading about T.O. Jam and looking at Facebook pictures and watching Matt's interviews so far has made me more happy about footbag than I've felt in a while. So much love!

edit: I don't know if this will be good or not. I'm at work so I have no audio. It's pretty much just taking a shot in the dark but that makes it fun.

Jeremy O'Wheel is such an assfucker.

Anyway.
Shred Session: 080524:
I had my first session in what's been a month of crappy medicinal side effects and a never-ending flu, and probably before that sore legs. It was a good first session. It was virtually painless, although I do feel a bit of rawness in my left knee. That is almost exciting, as I was expecting the unbearable shin pain. Actually I'm gonna pop some Ibuprofen now for that knee.
My runs were meh... okay. On average they were pretty lame and I avoided self-serving quite a bit for some reason, so rarely gave myself second chances to bad starts. I think I tried too many osis moves and zooming, and I'm not very good at that. Plus I tried to go straight into shred with no warm-up, and that certainly threw me off after not playing for so long. I did stretch before and after though, and I'm sure that's gonna help me avoid some bad stuff.
My stepping ducking seemed really on. I think I did blurry ducking clipper BSOS a few times really naturally. I tried to stop doing that though 'cause I knew that was a bad idea for my shins. One run I did blurry ducking legover one side and then blurry ducking clipper the other side, both midstring. A neat short string that was something like spinning ducking clipper > gyro diving mirage > pixie ducking clipper > spinning ducking mirage > pixie ducking clipper > drop... something like that, but that's wrong 'cause it was both pixie duckings.
My spinning moves were kinda off, like mobius and vortex I dropped probably 80-70%. That was frustrating. I did do way more drifters than I've ever done before, though. Blurry drifters and tombstones were just easy for some reason. It was weird especially for the tombstones because... I think I've maybe done them a couple times each side ever. But I was laying them down midstring and playing out of them without bails and stuff. I had one drifter run where I hit drifter > pdx drifter [repeat] midstring. That was cool, especially since I was trying it before just by itself and couldn't hit it. That was my second time ever. Shows how much I do drifters... I think the run was something like drifter > diving clipper [repeat] and then some maybe another drifter each side and then the drill... no bails too.
I hit a couple kinda tougher tricks right out of passes: bedwetter and gravedigger. Bedwetter I kind of do that a lot out of a pass, so no biggy, but gravedigger was kinda cool :)
Ah, probably the highlight was hitting blubberman first try after not even attempting it for like 4 years. Just into a hand catch. Some older men were walking by and were, like, "Bet you can't do that again!" And Andrew was, like, "I bet he can!" And then Andrew said something, like, "You guys look like you've got some extra change on you, what say a bet?" I couldn't even really see them 'cause I didn't have my glasses on, and I thought they were walking away, but Andrew was, like, "Just do whatever and they won't know the difference.", jokingly. So I did... sidewalk > sidewalk > ripwalk [repeat] > blur > pixie clipper [repeat] > hand catch. And I guess they thought it was the same thing and after Andrew trying to refuse the money they gave me $10, and I didn't even do any talking :D I tried to offer Andrew and Manna a cut later, but they wouldn't have it. That was neat. Oh no wait... and then after that they wanted to see more so I kinda dropped after 7 contacts or so, then Manna went, then I had a pretty stellar run with blurry rev whirl BSOS and a gyro DLO (I shouldn't've been doing tricks like that, but... you know. Ken will prolly chastise me, rightly :P) after that run, that's when they left the bill on my stuff.

What else?
Long post so far. I haven't had anything to say in forever.
I got a Johnny bag and a T.O. Jam shirt from Andrew, which was fun! And then Manna gave me a wad of cash for ordering him stuff with my PayPal account. It was like Christmas, I said.
We had a circle-kicking session where we just did flyers. We all kinda suck. Hehe. And then we did clipper > swirl > pass to next person [repeat] and that was neat. THEN we tried something they did at T.O. Jam apparently, where one person does a clipper set duck to the next person, repeat. And then the first person would run to the end (since there were only three of us (apparently they did it with a long line of people at T.O. Jam)) and it would continue. I think we got 4 total or so. Haha. It was tough and looked super silly. We tried some other tricks too, like spinning clipper... and some others. It was mostly a big failure. We tried silly stuff like smogs and blurry whirls and ripped warriors... haha. Actually I was smiling so much that the back of my head physically hurt... I'm not sure how that works.

Yeah, it was a super fun session. Super nice weather (started raining JUST as we were packing up). Manna is SICK. He is going to surpass us SOON! Man, I could watch him all day. I kept saying how all of his components look like Lon Smith's. Man alive. So he's guiltless with incredible form. He lays down stuff like fairy ducking midstring shuffle, both sides, and pixie ducking...swirl tricks. He can bust twirls and revups on command (always Windsors us on those).
We did Stephen Barnes' One Shot. Manna was wicked. It's a cool clip. I'll get it up soon. It's got a super tribute to Matt Cross. Andrew had a pretty decent run, good length. Mine was lame again. Like maybe 10 contacts. I was so excited to do it today too! Oh well. That's the fun of it I guess. I'm sure I could say lots more, but this is pretty long, so I'm gonna stop writing now. I'm gonna...
So yeah. Left a hamburger on the stove that whole time I was writing and my house is filled with smoke... Later.

EDIT: Some other stuff Manna was hitting:
-Infinity swirl (maybe inf rev swirl too... Andrew and I hit that too.)
-Whirling swirl
-Dimwalk swirl
-Feral BSOS
-Cower almost BSOS (Oh, I did assassin BSOS after that)

EDIT 2: Here's some of my swag:

10 years for 10 bucks, that was so sweet! those old men must of been millionairs! i hope it was worth it and you dont feel bad after hitting all those kickasss tricks for them.

my one shot was a little crappy, i was getting really comfortable and ended up dropping on a pretty easy trick. >_>

im gonna go watch some Lon Smith vids right now and seee how were similar. not a bad way to go. :)

Thanks for the pretty footbag and the ride home again.

Well Red called me Eric Chan more than one occasion and in fact he did some five times :)

Then Shawnell when I introduced myself to the girls who were footbagging I said " Eric Chang" she replied "OH I see you on the forums all the time! But you look so different in person! "

:) Next time I am going to pretend to be you and you might get some emails of how much people hate you, and how you're a bigot.

Maybe if I play my cards right, I can get so you came up with the Super Nemesis!!!!! Beware!

Shred Session 080528:
I'm going out of town with my dad on the weekend, so I decided to get out and shred with the boys so I could film my HACK OFF against Sam Colclough. It was pretty badly. Haha. My One Take today was sooo horrible too. Do I just suck, or am I camera shy? My reaction is great though. Hehe. So I will post those soonish.

Lesse.
It was an okay session. I forget what I said about last session, but I remember having a lot more cool highlights on Saturday. Mobius and vortex were still off, but I had a pretty good bust-ratio on gyro DLO. I guess the biggest highlight would be that it was virtually pain-free again! HOO! Like... And I played pretty normally. Like, leaving out bigger tricks, but doing some shuffle and stuff. I'm still super out of shape, but I went for a long run and got exactly 50. It was pretty good. I get bored of bailing so I end up doing all spinning and ducking for long runs. Like bailing just feels way too cheap. Umm, I got to the 7s in the ducking clipper > spinning clipper drill I do (where every repeat rotation the spinning clippers are increased... so... a bunch of contacts. Like 60-70??). Not my best, but hadn't done that for a while. I did some neat drifter stuff like the other day. Some pdx drifters out of osis. I had this one neat combo: twirl > gyro clipper > drifter > twirl (rolled off). Spinning out of twirl is awesome. Uh. They wanted me to try to beat Felix's 80 spinning clippers, haha. So I tried, though was dizzy to start with. I only got 17. I think my record is prolly 28-ish. Maybe over 30. But it's so much harder than it seems. Uh, also 35 diving clippers, trying to beat 55. Again this was after I was done playing and completely beat.

Not much else of note. Some styley stuff that Andrew liked. I like to try to mix it up, but I have to think about it, and it's usually stuff I'm not consistent at. Oh... I did gyro diving clipper > slapping clipper. Maybe BSOS... There was a pretty lengthy run that had midstring, like, DLO > ss DLO > DLO > ss DLO > DLO > ss DLO > eggbeater > ss DLO > eggbeater... prolly few to no bails in that run too, as I tend to do. Oh, I did lots of pogo and drifters in and out of it. What else? A handful of ducking symp mirages, which is kinda standard for me, but always seems to impress other shredders. I think I did drifter > diving symp mirage BSOS. It's kinda tricky to link out of a downtime trick like drifter. Maybe just 'cause I'm not too good at drifters right now. Also Regulated Manna by doing ducking symp > diving symp > ducking symp. Again, not super tough for me. I mean to do those more. I have some neat tricks, but I never think to use them and get bored of what I do use.

Manna was doing some sick shuffle. One run opened with at least 10 contacts of shuffle. Lots of fairy. What else did Manna do? I dunno. He was always having trouble with spinning, but suddenly he can zoom like nobody's business. So he will lay down spinning osis > spinning osis like cake... but has trouble with spinning clipper :p

Andrew was having a tricky day, I guess as I some frustration and he was having pain. Actually Manna was really sore too he said. What a bunch of old fogies, us. He had some long runs as always. Not too many bigger tricks, but he had a run with spinning whirl BSOS, which is cool for him. Oh yeah, later on he was trying again and I hit spinning rev whirl > ducking clipper > spinning rev whirl > ducking clipper > spinning rev whirl. I'm staying away from tricks like that, but I just had to :D He was also schooling his flip double downs, which is neat. Shuffle madness as always.

So yeah.
Imma make some peach bubble tea and melt my muscles in a bath.

I think me and Manna are the only people that have that problem

I don't know what it is but spinning clipper has never stuck for me but I'm always busting out spinning osis. I think it might be a balance issue. Either that or it's that fact that when you stop spinning while doing spinning clipper thee is so much momentum that you just struggle to hold onto the bag. but with spinning osis it's a pretty fluid movement all together and it's easier to hold onto the bag.

Anyway, nice blog, I enjoy ready about your footbag adventures. 8)

I would wager that there are SIGNIFICANTLY way less hits and downloads, and I barely even check the website anymore myself... I'll check sometime and see though.

i have it set up as my home page, so every time i open safari i'm hitting it. and i imagine way more downloads (edit) back then (/edit), as all the videos are now being linked through .org, right?

Shred Session: 080607:
Pretty sucky session with Manna today. He said his back felt better (he wasn't orginally planning to play today, and Andrew is sick so I was planning to solo) so we met and played at my "meadow" shred spot. It was really bad shred, frustrating and sore for both of us. I hadn't played in 2 weeks and felt more rusty than I have in a while. I wanna play next Saturday so I can at least keep up with myself.

Anyway, we did One Shots, and Hack-Offs, and also I got him to film a couple long run attempts, and I filmed a couple attempts of his at 50 tiltless. My two long runs attempts were okay. The first was too short, but the second was decent and pretty low on bails, considering. I always go into "intentional long runs" meaning to bail a lot, and always end up not nearly as much :)
So here are a few clips:

[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EG2YC-dnOWA[/youtube] (Actually the second and better run.)

[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRUDsDZF624[/youtube]
(The first shorter one.)

So... I should try to treat One Shot more like this, because I am pretty consistent when I try to do a "long run"... I don't know why the crap I can't do One Shot. Haha. Well today's was finally decent if not good anyway. You can check that out in the thread. My battle was pretty lame, but again the second run was pretty good. I'll post a new thread for that in the Online Comps forum when Eric Chang lets me know he's ready :)
