the corollary to that statement: jump shooting=another boston win

rasheed's comments after the game about "flopping" were hilarious, especially considering if his teammate (im talking hamilton, in this case) ever writes a book it will be called "How me and my plastic mask almost flopped our way to the NBA finals"

the officiating is really starting to piss me off.

Anyone want to put a friendly bet on this game? I am picking LA of course but if anyone feels strongly about Boston we can talk. I have 4 other bets on this game so we can do something small like five bones.

Not very concerned at this point. Kobe had an off night, everyone else played pretty well on the road. Pierce and Garnett their two best players were shut down in seperate halves and if that continues LA should be alright.

But maybe I'll have to eat my words about Boston. I already have had to a few times now, and I'll admit they're a pretty good team. I still don't think they stand a chance.

It's never been a question of whether or not you can put Keving Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen together on a basketball team and make them good, it's always been a question of whether or not they could win when it counted. That is still yet to be seen. 1 home victory means nothing. Remember I said that.

What's good about the Celtic's is that their entire team is tall. Their smallest guy at any time is Rondo who is only 6-1; but the mass of defenders they can use is ridiculous. Garnett, Pierce, Allen, Brown, Perkins, Posey, Powe is a scary defensive lineup at all posistions. Either way it's offense they're going to need to beat LA. If Kobe gets 3-5 layups/dunks in the entire game like he should, and fixes his horrible game 1 shooting percentage things will be fine. C'mon, it's Kobe.

the celtics played shit defense in the first half, subpar offense most of the game (didnt you hear? KG missed his first and last 9 shots...how often is that going to happen?), and got into foul trouble early (though granted kobe draws more fouls than a bird call during mating season), so even if kobe does step it up to at least close to his average for points per game, i still dont see the lakers winning this series. everyone knows the celtics have the best defense in the league this season, and i think when they really buckle down and play the way they should, they're still underrated.

Really happy to see the Lakers down 0-2 in the series. Celts won game 2 because Leon Powe went buckwild. The Lakers obviously didn't plan for that, and you can't fault them for it. Pretty safe bet that Powe won't have another game like that this series, but you never know. The main difference in the series so far has been that the Lakers bench hasn't given them much, and looks nervous. If I were a Celts fan, I wouldn't celebrate just yet though, cause last night's comeback shows that the Lakers can be dangerous, and you never want to count out Kobe in a situation like this. You gotta figure that the Celtics goal now is to win one of the next 3, and try and close out in game 6.
