Is this move clean?
Is this move clean?
Sorry if there's a pre-existing topic for this but i couldn't find it
So i was wondering if this was a legitimate/clean ducking butterfly rake. Any help would be appreciated

If he has his leg up, turns, and his leg goes over the bag, it's still a dex. I say it's clean.Isilwar wrote:5. I don't think it's clean, it looks like you probably turned before you got any sort of dex.
The vibe I get from you is that you never think anything is clean.

Weird. I don't really think I'm that picky about tricks, but I just tell people if they're the or something. Obviously I'm not entirely certain on this trick, but I think he turned too early. Butterfly rakes are hard.
Maybe you get that vibe because all your tricks are the!! Oh snap!

I think xbd rakes are inherently "the" but I think you hit the move as well as it could be
.
*By "inherently 'the'" I mean that given the move is supposed to be >out dex> xbd toe stall> in dex - it's impossible (or at least nobody does it) to do this without turning 90 degrees, which negates the final dex. Clearly the definition of the move is wrong, and for what it's claiming to be, it's the. I absolutely realise that this is a pedantic and meaningless point, don't let it stop you hitting xbd rake moves. Just whoever invented them did a really bad job of notation.

I always felt that cross-body rakes should not get a dexterity add. But they sure are stylie so please keep doing them.

I was about to correct you and say that they're not. I'm glad I double checked it with some research, though: http://www.footbag.org/newmoves/list/2mikeanello wrote:I always felt that cross-body rakes should not get a dexterity add.
My confusion was that I let myself think somehow that there's a special type of body add type for carries, e.g. in osis (depending on how you like your osis done) and wrap. This seems to be what's going on in a rake: it's a delay that starts in one position, often cross body, and gets carried into another, the regular toe delay. But the damn footbag.org even classifies a wrap as having a dexterity. I guess "dexterity" didn't always have the arial flavor, i.e. as an add that happens while the bag is aloft, that I'm pretty sure any modern freestyler would consider essential to the dexterity add. To Jeremy, since I don't think anyone really considers a rake to involve a dex, I don't even think it's eligible to be "the," rather some other flavor of "unclean." Thems my thoughts.
Clearly .org needs some updating, but that's another discussion.
Anyway, on topic: I think it's clean. Also, please save up for a better camera.
My favorite trick is knowing when to pass.
