Thank you Drew :).

I beat my Barfly record this evening. It is now 21. Horrah! I also hit a new trick on both sides - Tapping Butterfly Rev. Swirl. It's a bit harder than it sounds... (just a bit :P).

Also, it's 1:15am and I have to get up for work at 6:45. Guess I should do that now.

Hello world.

Thought I'd stop in. I had my first YMCA session in about 3 months last night. It felt good to kick with Rory and chill with Kevin again. It was probably my fifth or so session in those 3 months, so the rust was heavy, but hit a few things I was happy with.

I've decided to learn how to play the guitar. Tonight was my first session. My finger hurts  .

I'm looking forward to seeing close friends at ShrEdmonton this year :).

Lack of motivation and going through hard times in my life basically. Remember a few months ago I cried about needing change? Well, change is what I got. Change in just about every aspect of my life, and it was overwhelming to say the least. I'm still in a little bit of a rough spot but I'm working to get myself out of it and focusing on the good things that life has to offer.

So I figured I'd film a bit every other session to make like a "footbag progression video series". I'm so terribly rusty it's bad, and a lot of things feel so out of whack, but I managed to get a few decent runs on camera and got a big trick and a new link on there as well. I figure that would be a fun format to go with for this little project of mine (and also funner to watch for the viewers). Basically I want it to help motivate myself to keep playing by allowing me to see how much progress I'm making sort of thing.

Here's numero uno. Enjoy.

Sweet vid Byrin!

Aren't cat's silly?! Also, that looks to be one big cat! "GO!" Cat takes two steps, flops down, and rolls onto back. Great stuff!

Sweet stuff, it sure didn't look like you were rusty. The 3rd run was epic! Props on Guantlet! I've been trying that one for awhile now.

Can't wait to see more vids from you!

Byrin's back. Yes! Great video.

You don't look rusty. But you do kinda look like Tony Stark (aka Iron Man)...

Sometimes at 3am I like to turn on your latest progress video, pour myself a glass of red wine, close my eyes, and pretend I've just been prank called.

"Hello? Is there anyone there?"

"Well I'm not hanging up until you do."

I watched the first video in this zoned-out stupor where my mouth just hung open in utter enthrallment. I agree -- I didn't think you looked rusty either, but I guess one knows his or her own ability best. Actually the first thing I noticed in the first one was the scenery. Oh, Canada :D

Ahhhh. The Nightwish in the second one got me so pumped up :D:D
My first thought for this one was that you look like Josh Munsterman (more than the first, where for some reason you do look more like Tony Stark!)

Also, you should answer Johnny's question @______________________@

Definitely liked the 2nd one better. I like your style and your form is really good. Also, I don't know what you're talking about. You're variety is great.

Haven't kicked since ShrEdmonton, due to weather, work, guitar, shin pains and whatnot. Actually, that's a lie. I kicked twice but I only hit fearless tricks because doing runs in the basement is impossible due to space and lighting. I updated the first post in my blog with all the fearless I was able to do, which I think works out to around 165? Something like that? And I still have more sets to dip into, so I'm sure I could push that list to over 200.

Anyways, been biking lately as a way to build up my leg muscles and endurance when the weather permits. Last week I biked 51km. This week (so far) I did 46, and may do another 23km this afternoon. I've been hooked on guitar as well, having such a good time playing the few songs that I can play and learning new ones. I can play the little diddies in Battlecry and Mastermind, Leva's Polka, two Zelda songs (Mambo's Mumbo and the Song of Time  ) and currently working on Crazy Frog and Thunderstruck. Oh yeah, and Hurt by Johnny Cash but that's been real slow going.

Anyways, here's a trick I hit during ShrEdmonton and was later able to get it on camera. Hopefully soon my motivation and the weather will come into sync and I'll have a session! Until then, take care!
