Why does Daryl always write so much in here ?

aaah revup! you hit it before me! props!

I regularly read your blog, just so you know, even though I don't
reply too often. I do hope we can shred it up next week outdoors.

Ha ! You gave me that challenge ages ago, but i just recently started to
skool swirls - as in opposition to hitting some occasional ones .
If you want get some help on (rev) swirl(ing), go to the video section
and check the latest Matt Cross input .

As for a shred, i posted a suggestion for thursdays in our dying crew blog,
but as i just finished my a levels, i can make a lot of time -
just tell me where i shall meet you and i'll be there !

Being the footbag geek that i am, i keep a list of all the moves that i've hit
so far ; for example, i have hit ( by no means mastered !) 93 distinct
4 adds, of which i can do 66 on both sides .
This gap is as dramatic as it is apalling  ! I gotta even the ratio today,
some of those missing moves are random like div symp mir, others are
as essential as smog or torque .

And i wanna try to do longer drills, also to push bothsidedness -

Just had a short session that was ended by rain and wind

Aaaanyways, i skooled clip>op clip, freezing, infinities and symple swirls.
My flip symple swirl is getting better, i hit ss butter>flp symple swirl and
spinning clipper>symple swirl bs today .

I can put the finger on the problem that i have with linking butters now ;
since i did Anssis program, my butters made a nice progress, i tweaked
them far enough to be able to do them in a way my body feels comfy with.

Still, i could never do more than meager 15 back to back .
In the last couple of sessions, the progress had kinda "solidified" itself
to a point, where a breakthru in consistency and more reps seem
painfully close .

But something missed . I wanted them just to "happen", so that they
link each other sorta by themselves .
What i need to do for that eventually to happen is to focus .

I need to concentrate on every one of them and treat them with respect .

Goddamit i need to get 20 b2b before worlds !

my dlos are almost where i want them to be ; i hit dlo>ss dlo>rpt a lot
from both sides and was just a stall away from hitting all 6 basic dlos
in one run .
other than that i realised how much i suck at atomic after legover -
that is the reason why i just cant hit atomic leg >tapping pick b2b.
anyway, even if it feels good to complete a drill, almost getting it
at every try is just as good for practice ( still annoying tho :P )

double dexes were the most pleasing feature of todays' practice :
dso>dso into a solid string, easy barflies, and dso>para on bs .

i gotta get ma self a nu training program .

i hit that before, but your challenge reminded me that i should
bsos that one more often, thanks for the heads-up :)

today i had a crew shred, believe it or not 8O - Andi and Bea showed up
and it was such a refreshment to have them . Crew sessions can have a
good influence on my warm up and drilling-behavior .
I 'm not as stubborn when i'm with others since i dont wanna bore
them needlessly, and more importantly, the presence of other players
gets me in a more experimental mode .

Ideally, i would like to have atleast one crew shred a week - and to keep
entertaining that fantasy a little more, in those weekly meetings everybody
would floss their latest accomplishments .

As for the technical stuff, i had a bit of a breakthrough ; i used a lot
of flip toe tricks, and the clipper moves that i wanted to be part of
my runs - clip set dlo and whirl - found their way into my game .
Next downtime moves to add are paradon, dso and drifter .
Ducking is ok atm, but i gotta milk it more, and throw some spins into
the mix .

The best thing about today was the feeling that i had some decent runs.
More crew shred is what i need :D

Highlights :

toe shmoe bsos, out of the blu in a fatty string with good toe2toe links

tap>ss dlo rpt

rev up again :P

New stuff :

butter>whirl>dlo>ss butter>whirl>dlo>string

pixie clipper>diving mirage>atomic muted clip>ducking pdx mirage>run

atomsmasher>toe blur>dps mirage>small combo 8)

Struggling with :

dlo>dso>rpt

ps whirl

I challenge you to do Flip Revup and Pdx Symp DLO bs.
I look so much forward to see you hitting PS Whirls.
I think they will fit your style super well.

Have a good trip to Thailand. You deserve it.
I look forward to detailed write-up buddy.

pixie muted swirl

session yesterday and today . the first one felt disorganized and sweaty,
i worked on toe to toe stuff mainly, the rest was runs .
tapping pick up>smear rpt feels best when it rains.
runs are getting more consistent, new weaknesses more visible -
i want smoother movement and better bops to improve energy conserving.

today i drilled flip toe again and hit tapping pick up>dlo>.dmirage>rpt>seal,
it was the even breathing style that did it - something worth remembering.
i also hit 50 tiltless 2 try, which felt good besides the panting
and also a new trick , twirl ( insp. by Asmus )...it was looking so lucid
and it felt so solid, that it had to be a fluke . when cross checking my
tech with other rev swirl trix, i had to concede - to my surprise - that
the twirl i hit was as legit and sexy as it was lucky :P .
i finished the session doing some infinities and spinning whirls .

more tomorrow, hopefully .

Props for Twirl. I'm glad I can inspire.
But even more props for 50 tiltless second attempt. That's crazy.

Are there coming a write-up from your trip?
I really wanna hear some more and see some photos.

Love.

and i would like to share, but i dont got the time atm for creating my
usual abundance of words, and just popping the pics without context
seems, well, wack :P .

i think i pulled a muscle yesterday, not sure on what trick/drill,
suckyness .
tonite, my crew got a little display of skill at some fancy event restaurant,
and i remodelled the plans that i had made to take part in it .
But with that pirate burn in my left thigh, surprising them with my
sudden appearance remains in the realm of fantasy .

The insolent soreness was also the reason for todays practice being
limited and heavy.
I worked one simple enuff drill and a 3-3-3 that's more about style
and tech than about speed and aggression, as most of my stuff (unfortunately) is.

The best part tho was experimenting with the great tips of the
great David Clavens great drifter tutorial :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mf5uZPBlG9o

i mean, i hit drifters before but now i hit them well, and i encourage all
the "normies" like myself to do the same !!!

drill session on wednesday

thoughts :

- it is important to adress ones weaknesses directly, without false pride .
drilling atw(in>out)>pick up rpt isnt the most challenging enterprise,
if you play for over 3 yrs, but if i want a bothsided pixie, its pretty much
the only option i got

- breathing properly and playing more economical is something i want to
learn more about

- a good thing to learn new ways - be that integrating new tricks/links or
experimenting with breathing/posture - is to try them in a save
environment, which means tiltless/dexless/bop runs in my case

- i want to play more with others

stuff :

dso>d.mirage rpt>run

tap. pickup>d.mir>rpt>run bs

tap.legover>d.mir> rpt>run bs

(ss butter)>drifter>butter>butter>drifter>butter

d.clip>div.clip>whirl>rpt>run bs

tapping legover>ss smear>fairy ss mirage
