belated tuesday session

thoughts:

- forcing oneself through - what started out as - a bad session is definitly
worth it

- it feels good to seal trix with a follow-up move/run ; especially when
those moves are new

- i love working the basics, hitting longer drills and making good use of my
favorite clipper downtime stuff

stuff : [drilled (symple)swirl, whirl, drifter, paradon, beta blur, dexless]

- butter>swirl>butter>butter>butter>swirl>yeeeeeeeeeeeeha

- tap>d.mir>butter>whirl>pdx mir>rpt>short run

- fairy op mirage>string

- frantic legover to butter, with the first move in lucid quality

- SPIKEHAMMER>decent string 8)

edit :

If you read my blog/know my game, please give me tips, insights, challenges regarding tricks, variety, fitness, form, style, links, DRILLS !!!

Since i shred alone mostly, your help is essential -
props for Asmus already helping me out that way, love ya bro :D

Is Frantic Legover new? That trick is so sweet.

In Frantic i think the Quantum dex a bit like an uptime symple swirl.
That makes it easy for me to fall into butterfly or do legovers out of it.

Can you do Slapping Legover b2b? Try it!

tap>d.mir>butter>whirl>pdx mir>rpt>short run = Sweet drill!

I miss you.

waiting for my gf wearing longshorts session [wednesday]

thoughts :

- when i began to play footbag, i was mostly impressed by those dudes,
who can play well in their normal clothing in a smooth, effortless way .
it feels good to become one of them.

- maby i said this before, but clipper 2 clipper is sooooo much fun :D

- symple swirls at will rock

Asmus, can we have a chat before you leave for your festival ?
Maby you got some more challenges, toe shmoeb2b i hit already...

thursday eve mini sesh

thoughts:

my attitude towards new drills and moves has changed ; i adhere to what
i call "logical progression" more and more, gone are the wasted hours footing mullet,
without having never even hit two pdx whirls b2b .

Getting better by learning all the elements in a natural brick-by-brick
way just feels better than forcing myself on to a detour to questionable results.

I think there is nothing better than moves coming to you "voluntarily",
of course there is sweat and cursing involved, but its a battle for the right
tech rather than a struggle against all odds.

I will probably reduce learning new drills to an appropiate minimum,
playing lego with the stuff i know is fun enuff :D

stuff:

- worked on hitting legbeater>d.butter with better form

- worked on ss butt>osis>pdx mir and butter>butter>osis>whirl

the Asmus/Max in me still lets me try freaky hard stuff thats a bit above
my ability, and "who dares, wins" still applies. But only sometimes .

haha, i had the same exact thoughts today. ^^ i tried hitting spinning ducking symp far rev whirl, couldnt make it for some time, then thought about why, realised i should maybe hit a spinning far rev whirl at least before i try shit like the beforementioned. :) i guess thats some kind of growing up thing... :P

i really look forward to see you Marco, just to throw beer and money at you,
in the vain hope that this "growing up" thing gets put back on hold :D

friday tiltless session

thoughts :

It can be a bit awkward to play with others i any case, especially when
one is kinda used to shred alone.
Still, todays' session with Andi was most refreshing .
I couldnt play like i wanted to, my right ankle was a bit worn out,
but that made work on tiltless and a bunch of useful flip stuff .

stuff :

- new tiltless combos 8O

- flip ss butter>diving clip>ss butter>diving clip>run

- flip tap>d.mirage>rpt>run

- both of those a couple of times, gotta hit em bsos !

lazy sunday lake session

thoughts :

- loosing your only fully functioning footbag sucks hairy ass - especially when the bag belongs to someone else

stuff :

- relaxed runs with lots of clipper trix

- tapping muted pickup>symp mirage>butterfly swirl

- d.mirage>dso>rpt from the other side - finally 8)

energetic tuesday late lake session

drills :

ss butter>mirage rpt

ss butter>diving mir>rpt

butter>butter>drifter>rpt

drifter>drifter
[on all these drills i used the good old Anssi Meth ( = at least 50 cons each )]

drifter>butter>osis

drifter>osis>butter

ss butter>diving clip>drifter
[ on both sides of course - i plan on getting these down with ease and good form ; hitting these b2b or bsos is totally secundary atm ]

some mini drills to strengthen my flip-toe-mid-combo-abilities

nothing spectacular of course, but worth it :D

Friday was pretty good, as in effective and fun :D . i reached a sort of
peak with my latest downtime efforts, did some decent toeguiltless and
sweated out a lot bof bop stuff.

My osis developement is still somewhat shy, but hitting whirls and
drifters out of them is getting easier these days.
Infinity-wise, i finally acquired some sort of even rhythm, and i love
them mid-shred for being so low-energy and comforting .

As for the downtime moves, drifter is like the new whirl , i stepped out
of it avec plaisir, and hit butter>drifter>ducking pdx mir bsos.

This late clipper trick progress also got me confidently intrested in seriously working on
the upgrade versions of dlo/whirl/drifter/para.
I mainly worked on the pdx variants, but also practised blender, barfly
and pixie paradon a bit.

My favorite moment definitly was realizing that i have a flip pdx whirl now :P,
cliche phenomenon or not, the dex is so much deeper than on my strongside .
i hit it well 7 times today, which feels waaay kooler than the meager 3-4
times that i had hit i in total before on that side .

Rainy Sunday Shred

I mainly skooled bops, diving/ducking/spinning, drifter, dlo, pdx whirl,
atomic, and even a little stepping .
Runs were on today, i feel more precise and stable. I'm more in touch
with the bag, if that makes any sense, sometimes i feel that i'm one
with a trick's mechanics - it hard to discribe, but all that drilling got
me way into certain moves, its like i know drifters "personally" now,
which is much more satisfying than just being able to "hit" them .

toe ss butterfly swirl

tapping pickup>butter>ss symple swirl bs

legbeater>drifter>run bs

phoenix>whirl

4 drifters b2b

dlo>dso rpt>run 8)

edit : had to erase something that i've only footed...

Sunday Evening Shred

I worked on some upgraded whirl stuff, hit a bunch of blenders and pdx
whirls, almost pdx whirl bsos .

It was also nice to discover that i have a fetal whirling set on both sides-

flip side : whirling ss mirage

strong side :whirling ss pick up and blazing legover
