I made this out of all the footage that didn't make the cut for bootleg sessions. It's kinda annoying because this is some good stuff that took alot of work to hit. Whaaaatever, at least I am not leaving it on the editing room floor.

sick stuff tom! i think what probably resulted in it getting cut was the angles. The hip in the bowl would have looked better if shot from in the bowl, then you would have gotten a better sense of how big you aired. Same with the high way air/ drop you did there, and it was shot from a ways out.
great stuff, i loved the double set at the end! gnarls!!!

I'm still spunky, it's just being vented elsewhere.

I totally shoulda gone to MSJ3 this weekend.

I had to decide between it and the cycle messenger world champs and after flip flopping based on a million variables I eventually chose this... but it kinda sucks and I am missing out on some really awesome fun. Ah well.

Look it's me on a shirt!

I was supposed to go to TO island today to win a few competitions (best trick and highest bunny hop) but as I was leaving the door my sister guilt tripped me into staying because it's fathers day.

Ughgh, really frustrating. The weekends been a bust, lots of running around without hardly any actual doing. The only plus was last night getting to hit up a freeee dance party for a few hours, it was a bummer when it ended at 1:30 AM though. I mostly wanted to go to redeem the weekend and maybe make myself feel less shitty about missing MSJ3. Instead, I'm bitter and in a shit mood at home. Perfect.

Oh well, I guess TO will look lame in the trick contest.

Check it out, I am in a magazine in Japan! 8)

I am three of the frames! Coooool!

I don't know what any of it says, but I know it's about Bootleg Sessions v2.

I have been getting tons of flack from my parents for the shitty slacker position my life is in right now. I lost my job in March and haven't had formal work since then, my only source of income has been working for my parents helping with the renovations, and those are basically done.

So, I am 25, living at home, unemployed and not very motivated to step up and get a real job. Though the shitty kicker is that I have a million reasons to be motivated! If I got ANY entry level mech eng job I'd suddenly have ZERO money troubles, aka one of the big things that frustratingly prevents me from doing shit I want to do. I would be able to move into my own place in Toronto, pay off every debt I've ever had and start piling up some money to ultimately fuck off to some glamorous city.

SO, what the fuck??? why am I being so shitty and retarded about this all?

I've been having some troubles with social anxiety in certain situations. Definitely not all, sometimes I light up and there's no holding me back. But other times I am scared stiff of really basic social situations and I feel like I can't handle them. I hate it, it's held me back from so many opportunities.

But I am getting braver as my situation becomes increasingly pathetic. My mom pointed out to me that I should have the self respect to not just loaf around unemployed, unmotivated, and I certainly shouldn't be collecting employment insurance.

That said, I only realized recently that I was even eligible for EI. I'd never collected it before, but someone informed me that since I wasn't fired and I didn't quit and so on that I could. It took me over a month to get a record of employment from the temp agency, I finally got it today and submitted a form to collect what I was due.

Hmm, not sure how I feel about it all. It will help until I pull my shit together and get on firing my resume out to the world which should ultimately net me a 'real' job.

Oh, and I have an appointment with this government employment center dude soon to finally get on connecting me with lots of potential employers. I've been through a million gov't programs and I think I am finally at the stage where I get to get a fucking job, ughgh.

Aaaaanyways, back to bikes. haha

I started a weekly fixed gear tricks night in Toronto called TO Track Tricks, there's even a facebook group! haha It's every Tuesday night at 7PM, meeting at Yonge&Dundas Square.

More stuff...

So, there's some quite big other stuff actually...

Dear little Pengpeng Du has moved to China for two months! She is brave and smart and strong and I know she will do so great! :D

I got to hang out with her one last time before she left and it was really nice. We went and got all you can eat Korean BBQ, she let me hold her hand. :) She's a sweetie, I really care about her so much.

It was sorta hard to 'get over' her, but I think I have, and now she fills a really important role in my life as 'the person I tell every single stupid detail of my life to'. She's the best friend I have, I am really happy she's still so close to me and my life even if she's going to be geographically kinda far away for a while or two.

So, fuck it, I need to step the fuck up, GROW UP, and get a real job. I have a few things on the horizon that I am interested in, but I don't know any details yet as I've really only applied for one of them.

The one job opportunity that sounds really interesting would be actually pretty amazing to land. The job was linked to me through a friend of a friend who knows Jeff Adams (13 time paralympic gold medalist etc etc) who now not only races (he's going to Beijing) but who makes FUCKING BADASS racing wheelchairs!

I called him up and talked to him and he told me to send him a resume and bio and stuff. I did that, but I haven't heard back from him since he was in Atlanta doing these qualifying trials that he had to pay to setup in order to get qualified for the Olympics. He missed the normal trials because for 2 years he was banned on doping charges that he just recently had overturned. It's all so crazy, but awesome too!

Here is what I wrote as my bio, I've never written a bio before, and this is definitely more casual and informal than any normal job interview thing. I think he just wanted something to know some of what I've done.

Name: Tom Mosher
Born: October 4th 1982, Oakville, ON

My whole life I’ve had a love and knack for problem solving and all things mechanical. This passion combined with a keen willingness to learn has lead to many fruitful pursuits and has shown me that enthusiasm can achieve a lot.

I am a recent graduate from Queen’s University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. At Queen’s I excelled in my design based courses such as Ergonomics, Biomechanical Design and various client based projects. In my final year I proposed, organized and executed a project to formally redesign a shoe to best suit the sport of footbag. I coordinated a team of four, a $1000 budget and worked with a professional podiatrist and shoe cobbler. While completing my degree I also participated in many extracurricular activities such as running a Queen’s ratified club (Kingston Footbag Militia) for 3 years, hosting several footbag tournaments and eagerly participating in both my own club and the Queen’s Juggling Club.

Within the sport of footbag I am a world renowned stitcher, teacher and competitive player. I have competed in the Footbag World Championships three times, placing 13th in ‘Shred 30’ last summer in Orlando.

Most recently my passion has been aimed at the very young, and still mostly underground, sport of fixed gear bicycle tricks. My enthusiasm has taken me to the forefront of the sport, I was recently featured in DVD of fixed gear tricks called ‘Bootleg Sessions v.2’ (www.bootlegsessions.net) Like all things I come in contact with, I felt the need to customize my bike and then do tricks with it. It only makes sense to make something best suit a situation and that opens the door to discovering what is then possible.

My successes in a variety of fields have only served to continually remind me that when my passion is correctly aimed at something truly impressive things can happen. I am a dedicated hard worker who is excited and willing to apply his skills to new and interesting applications. I look forward to seeing what results when my skills and boundless enthusiasm are applied to the ‘real world’.

Sincerely,
Tom Mosher

Kay, come Monday it's fucking game time. I want a job, I want money, I want bike parts, I want a swinging bachelor pad, I want big city living, I want to add my enthusiasm to FAT, I NEED A JOB!!!

I think my uncle is a mechanical engineer out in Burlington. I wonder if he would know of anything to get you started. He's super successful and spoiled me and Marita like crazy when I was living in Toronto.

Haha that video is ALL OVER a bunch of japanese fixed gear blogs!

I had a fun shred with Josh and Johnny last night. Johnny is INSANE!!!!

Looks like there will be another shred with the same boys tonight, whee!

Oh, and I finally discovered that I have something to be motivated about again... and it's lame...

I want to stay better than Jay Boychuck! hahah I think I've still got him on a few things but it seems like he's caught up/passing me.

I guess that's what I get for never playing.

Well, only one way to fix this! 8)

I got to play from Tom Mosher, and even give him money!

Tom Mosher is still awesome at Footbag, and sadly, had poor luck in Racko.

His kitchen looks really nice too!

He has nice spins.
