Hey everybody!

It's a shame munichfootbag is so quiet at the moment...everybody's
busy with life I guess :)

It's really difficult to me to attend training when it starts so late.
When I have some spare time (mostly when my daughter has a middaysleep and everything else on the to-do list is done), it's spontaneous, so it's hard for me to hook up with you guys.

Anyway, I'd still love to read some progress from everybody!
Daryl can't be the only one shredding right now!!

I had my comeback session 4 days ago - after a whopping 6-month footbag absence!!

Comeback session - May, 11th 2008

I have gained quite some weight over the last months and in return lost quite a lot of my stamina. So I took it easy and practiced all my
concepts.

Stepping is still there, flipside is weak though.
Hit a couple of nice rev swirls.
Did manage to get some nice spinning attempts, and hit some spinning clippers, spinning legover and gyro mirages. dropped on a spinning ducking clipper.
my string length is not worth mentioning - I need to get some stamina back!!
I did hit 35 butterflies though. (record is 36, for at least 2 years now  )

I watched a couple of videoclips from 2 years back and to my shame
I have to admit I haven't really improved since then...

I played today - made a video for Stephen Barnes' One-Shot Challenge!

I finally broke my infinities record - it's now 38.

That's good news! 38 is really close to 40 and 40 is really close to 50 ! :D go for it. How is your daugther doing?

Andi and me played on Monday. I was a slow but fun little session. Otherwise I sneak in a solo session from time to time. But I will got to Duesseldorf for 2 weeks in 10 days or so. And right now I have a fun 60 hours week...

Anyway Daryl seems to be in asia already.

I could make it to a session this weekend and I would be willing to travel as far as Haar. When would it suit you Bjoern?

Hey Max
wenn du in dusseldorf bist und mal zeit hast für ne shred session, sag bescheid. Düsseldorf is ca ne halbe stunde von hier entfernt. Bei gutem wetter könnte man anner rhein promenade oder so zocken.

MUNICH JAM?!

hey friends,
spainjam was so cool again. :-) just thought about starting a small munich jam. maybe from 26th to 28th of september...!?

we could
- just offer a place to crash or organise hostels once we know how many come over
- shred at the oktoberfest in Lederhosen ;)
- shred at OlyPark
- shred at Marienplatz or Friedensengel, Monopterus, etc...
- go party at night

no tournament, no big commitments, but a bit of organisation (to get permissions to play at Marienplatz maybe, to maybe reserve a booth in a tent of Oktoberfest a night, look for partys, bring ghettoblaster, ...).

what are your thoughts? If we would agree on doing it, we could announce it and see if number of people is enough. just give it a shot I'd say and then we a new big goal and everybody in munich will shred oooooooon! :-) :-)

maybe weather is already a bit critical, but oktoberfest would for many players from abroad be a reason to come too i guess. :)

cheers,
the toby.

ps. I'm back from spain now, so lets play! :-)

nice thought Toby!

Sounds a bit like the Munich Streetlife Festival Footbag Jam years ago... :)
We had a bunch of shredders from Dortmund and Nürnberg back then...

FELLOW SHREDDERS! I got some challenges for all of you:

I challenge you to play footbag.

I would probably be up for it.

A train to Munich shouldn't be so expensive.
Bier trinken und footbag spielen! Sehr schön!

Does anybody know whats up with Daryl? Is he still travelling?

ARRRRRRGH !

But before i put on Metallica's "Sad but True", open a bottle of vodka and
tear my place apart, i gotta state some facts .

I do play. Lots actually . I know that you Andi and Bea also want to play.

What we need is at least on fixed day a week where we can all meet
and rip it up . Monday and friday are still impossible for me, so if you
guys were to arrange a shred date at any other time, i'd be there, and
most delighted .

Since Bjoern and Max, both busy and all grown up, have to plan stuff ahead and have only little shred-time on their hands (feet?), i think it would be easier for them to make time if our shred dates were fixed .

Thats really all there is to it. Please fon/pm me for your suggestions.

how true. i haven't shredded for almost 2 months again - hobbies are
luxury... if there was a fixed date though (and not too late in the evening!), i might make it sometime.

I'm gonna be in Munich on the 31st. My girlfriend will be working every day until Worlds, so if anybody is free during the day then, I'd love to meet up and hack. Also, I can make bags if anyone wants :P $20 Canadian (~12.50 Euros...). Umm, but shred near some neat sites or monuments would be rad. I'll have a camcorder.

Oh. I will be living near Marienplatz, or whatever, which I noticed you guys mentioned here a few times. I don't know how close, but I think that is where my girlfriend works.

Erik, that's great news!!

I really look forward to meeting you!! Can't wait to see you spin, duck
and reverse whirl all over munich! (my favourite concepts, though
I suck at all of them  )

It's very difficult for me to find some spare time right now since I shift
between work, learning and spending my free time with my wonderful
little daughter Letizia who is 5 months old now.

But, since I work near Marienplatz, I'm sure we can meet up in the city
centre somewhere after work to shred it up!

Toby, I'd love to come - but I guess you already knew that. :(
