Actually the Quantum 02's should be 8.5 for you if your laver size is 8. I had a size 9 in lavers and now 9.5 in QM 02's. Don't take my word for it though, but check the Quantum 02 thread before buying... I guess

I'm still deciding on whether or not I'd like to buy the all blacks or the contessas. I've been craving a pair of black shred shoes, but on the other hand, pink is probably my favorite color. Pink stands out a lot, and I don't want to be in a circle later in the future with a bunch of guys playing hacky sack all wearing pink shoes. Needless to say, IDK.

hey i bought size 12 quantums 02 and they wur reallll tight until they broke in just becuz they didnt have a biggersize i wore 12 in laver and 13 regular shoe do u think id b okay with a 13 quantum 03 or would they maybe b to big

daryl, do you think you could post some more pics, like different angles and such? i know its just like the q2 in appearace... but id still love some new pics. just to hold me over till u.s.o.

is there a new video for the q3's? like, vasek shredding in them? i loved the old one haha

Although I'm about to transition back to Lavers soon, I can't wait for my pair of black Quantum 03s to arrive. I'm slightly excited; if they are good enough I'll stock up on an extra pair.

But concerning the Quantums, I can wait. I was slightly upset with the shipment getting stuck in China (?) because of the preparations for the 2008 Olympics, but I guess that's just a matter of customs and whatever. If the shipment needs to be delayed, do so. I can wait another month or two for my shoes.

Bad news, good news...

Okay, so, the freight company in Los Angeles gave me some false information. The shoes actually weren't held up there do to any so called "marking discrepancy", so the shipment is NOT going directly to Idaho. It's actually in Portland right now. We've just got a few small hurdles to hop over before we can actually get the shoes:

1. The supplier did not provide me with the proper paperwork when they shipped the order. I was supposed to have the original bill of lading - I think he have this one covered.

2. The goods are still yet to be unloaded from their vessel (at this point I'm not sure if it's a boat, a train, or a truck), but whatever the method, they should be shortly.

3. The shoes have not yet cleared customs - this one could be a show stopper.

But nonetheless, maybe, conceivably, possibly, perhaps, perchance everything will go smoothly tomorrow (Friday) in which case I will head out to Portland over the weekend, and get them on Monday... Then drive back to Nampa and ship next Tuesday. Notice I put a few clarifiers there, so don't get your hopes up too much. I will update my blog Saturday if I glean any definitive information.

(Insert Colorful Expletive Here) US Customs!

I was planning to leave for Portland on Sunday morning and catch the Sole Purpose Footbag Club for their weekly Sunday afternoon shred at 2:00pm at Pioneer Courthouse Square, but alas! my plans were dashed late Friday afternoon. After handing over more than a grand for customs duties, bond entries, warehouse fees, courier fees, etc. to my customs broker (note that this is in addition to the shipping cost), I learned to my great dismay that US customs has decided to inspect the shipment of shoes.

And now for the complete and total load of ****: I get to pay for the inspection and additional warehouse handling fees

. This is something like and extra $150 so they can open the boxes and make sure they are not filled with weapons, drugs, etc. and that the shoes are properly marked with country of origin. Now mind you I really have no problem with my goods being inspected (I'm not hiding anything) - but this is essentially a random selection process (most goods are not inspected), so why the **** should I have to pay for it?

On the bright side Portland is a relatively small port and this process should be relatively fast (2-3 extra days), whereas in a larger port city like Los Angeles it can take extra weeks, boy I sure feel lucky now

Anyhow, I'll still most likely be going to Portland later in the week. I'm not going to drive out there until I get the final word that the shoes are actually ready to be picked up, and my drive will not be in vein. As soon as I get a definitive answer, I'll post again.

Thank you for your patience in the matter, I can only imagine the stress and frustration riding on your shoulders.

Did you somewhat "budget" for unexpected costs like this, or would it be any help if you charged an extra amount for the shoes? I am more interested in supporting footbag than getting quantums themself, so I wouldn't mind paying whatever amount more.

Another thing, is that in my experience with customs inspecting shipments, they can rip open all the packages and not put anything back all nice and pretty, so, good luck with the condition of shoes when you do pick them up
