I had a four hour session yesterday, so I didn't feel up to playing today. By the end of the session yesterday, I couldn't even lift my legs high enough to do simple one dexes like mirages and legovers. Probably because yesterday was like a heavy duty drill session, which is something I haven't done in a long time. The thing that I drilled the most yesterday was inside stalls, since my clippers suck and I need more crank. That's the sole (haha) problem with my clippers now: crank. My hips and knees are fine, but I could tell when I was doing consecutive insides that my ankle just wouldn't bend enough. So I got up to about 200 inside stalls max, but I probably did well over 1000 altogether yesterday. And my calves and foot arches were like little leg microwaves or something by the end of the day. I also did a bunch of really long tiltless drills, hit a full symposium blur (on accident, somehow. ahaha), came close (very close) to tatw, hit symposium legover bs, which was fun to mess around with. I also had some really good guiltless strings, with a couple new moves incorporated into my shred that I'm not used to doing, like spinning osis and a bunch of stepping moves.

So yeah, I'm definately competing in the intermediate routines at midwest regionals. Looking back now, I wish I would've picked a different song. I wanted it to be a joke, but I got real serious about it, and it just doesn't rock in my mind anymore. If anyone has any ideas on how to spice up my routine go ahead and tell me. For my first routine though, I'm not upset with it, but I definately see things I can fix for next time.

What else... I started listening to Mars Volta these past couple weeks, and I really like them. I had the 'Widow' on my ipod for a long time, but I never listened to any of their other stuff. I also watched a couple interviews with them, and they seem to be very down to earth, talented, and believe in what they do. So yeah, that's cool or whatever.

I'm going on another cruise on July 13th, which is cool. Same ship as last year, and we're leaving out of the same port, but it's going to different islands. I'm not sure how I'll like it the second time around. Sure, it'll be fun, but the first time it was just kind of like magic, because it's not like anyone's used to being treated so well. People that work for cruiselines (especially Royal and Disney) literally will bend over backwards for you. I'm kind of thinking of it being like when I took the band trip to Disney last year. It was cool going with my friends, and screwing around, and writing on Dan Spence's back and taking pictures and getting in trouble, and everything else, but being in Disney and seeing it from a 6'4" 16 year old's perspective whose been there twice was kind of depressing, because it's just not the same. Or somewhat more appliable to this forum, it's like when you first saw a shred video and shat your pants at what people could do with a hacky sack, and after countless hours of sweat and eye training and drills, watching it just isn't the same. I feel like I'm getting carried away, so I'll stop there.

I was sore from yesterday's session, in which I drilled illusion and fairy the entire time, so today I took it easy and just had a small session to just loosen up my tight and sore leg muscles. I did a couple atw drills, then hit alternating terrage x11.

I think I get way too into playing, and this paragraph is devoted to explaining what I'm talking about. Whenever someone talks to me as they're walking by, I don't make the least bit of sense when I answer them back. Yesterday, some guy walked past me, said something I couldn't hear, then I replied back "Thanks. Haha, I'm dizzy." Like, I don't even know if he complimented me or not, and I said thanks, then told him that I was, infact, dizzy. Then today, some guy said something like "hey you're not too bad" or something, and I said "Thanks. I've been playing for awhile, so I'm not as good as when I started." Now, in my head, I'm thinking "my legs hurt from yesterday, and I've been playing for at least an hour out here, and I'm probably not doing too great but I want this guy to know I can do better" but what he heard was "I've been playing for a couple years, but despite this, I'm not as good as when I first started." Because that makes sense.

I've been having some weird dreams lately, too. I had one weird dream where I was in India, or some middle east country, and I couldn't look anyone in the eye or talk to anybody because I was an american. Then there was another one, where I sawed my legs off to get on a plane or in a car or something, and I remembered thinking "damn. now I'm not going to be able to play footbag." But the legs were like rehealing themselves or something without me doing anything. There have been a lot more, but I figured I would share the two that I most vividly remember. And the weirdest thing is that when I wake up from the dream, I actually believe that it happened, at least for a couple minutes when I first wake up.

I've been saving my pennies (literally) for Quantum 3's, and so far I have almost $40 worth of pocket change, which is almost halfway there with shipping costs. I'll probably get the contessa ones, because pink is my favorite color. Although, I haven't worn any pink recently. I find it weird that pink is my favorite color. It all started when I started listening to mindless self indulgence, and from there it was history. I also kind of like the feeling that so many people think pink is a girl's color, and it pisses them off to see a guy wearing it. After all, there is such thing as a "girl only color". Kind of like women's socks or women's gloves. Can't men wear those, too? Do women's socks really need to be worn by somebody with a vagina, or are the big corporations trying to scam you out of your money by labeling things in so many different ways? Hmm....

Speaking of scamming people out of their money, I went to the outlet mall in Aurora for the last time ever. The fucking place is filled to the brim with shitty stores for yuppies. Nobody needs the shit they have to sell there, yet hundreds, nay, thousands flock there every day to the point where there aren't any parking spaces available. I didn't see one store there that appeals to my interests. Even the sony store which I thought would be cool sold absolute bullshit for x4 as much as it's worth. To me, "shopping," in the bastardized American sense of the word, is buying something you don't need, for a price you can't afford, all because big corporate assholes ram commercials and ads up everyone's asses until they eventually think that they do need a new car, a Venus razor that can turn thorns into roses, and a toothbrush that also has... whoa!!! a tongue cleaner on it!! for only $5 dollars more?!?! I don't want people to tell me what to believe, what to buy, how I should act, etc. And that's exactly what TV tells you to do, even if you don't know it. Everybody wants to be a fucking barbie or ken doll or something. America has become a country of materialistic assholes that don't have personalities or original thoughts, and guess what? Every other country wants to become America. Foreigners listen to our music, watch our movies, and try to dress like us, all while secretly thinking we're the scum of the earth.

I don't know where I was going with that last paragraph, but it was nice to mindlessly vent about stuff. Thank you, footblog. I'm forever indebt to you.

I'm sitting here stitching, and I noticed two things I must improve upon.

1) My pent template is ok, but I need more room on the bleedhole side of my hexes. There's more room there now than on my last bag, but it's still not enough.

2) When I get to the third stitch in, it's pretty much just at the halfway mark. I'm allowing too much room, and it needs to go back more so that I can make room for the other three stitches. I think this has been my one and only major problem in getting the bag to be nice and even.

I think once I can fix these two problems, my bags will be good to sell here on modified. Wait, there's another problem:

3) I'm lazy and only stitch about one bag a month.

I knew this would happen. Fuck Vanessa Carlton and 1000 miles. I'm doing my routine to the song Animal by MSI. I don't care if there's only a week left to practice, either. Maybe it's a good thing, and maybe it's a bad thing, but I'm going to do it.

I'm going on a cruise starting July 17th. I don't know if I said that in here or not. Oh wait, now I see it. I wrote the 13th in that post, but that's because I'm an idiot. But anyways, that's going to be fun. After I come back, I'm going to take like a one month break from the internet. I feel like I'm addicted to it. I waste too much time on modified and facebook and stuff, and I really need to stop. I'll probably check my email like once every two days, just to see if anyone's trying to contact me to do anything (however unlikely that is), but other than that, no more sitting here for long periods of time essentially doing nothing.

Anyways, I stitched 2 really good bags, and have finally perfected my own stitching style. They're modified-selling quality bags, but I'm not sure if I'll commit to that yet. Maybe I'll do a couple trades with people, instead. I don't want money as much as I want a wide array of bags, anyway.

Midwest regionals were today. We did 2 small demos there; one was about 15 minutes long, the other was like half an hour. My legs were shot at the end of the day. Shredding on the lawn (haha) probably didn't make it better. Actually, I'm not sure if I've ever played on grass before. It was all really fun, though. Props to Tom for telling my parents about the CIC birthday jam. My mom didn't really want me going, and I didn't even tell my dad yet, but I know he wouldn't want me going either. They usually listen to people that aren't me though, so I guess that worked out. I'm going back tomorrow with Jake, so that'll be fun.

Footbag isn’t fun right now. I don’t feel like I’m regressing, but for someone who puts as much time and effort into playing, I feel like I should be heaps better. I notice that I’ve been drilling like crazy these past few days/weeks, and for some reason, it just doesn’t seem to be helping. I couldn’t even manage to get more than 10 infinities today. Plus that, my shred feels too predictable. It’s easy for me to say “well, I’m still a great shredder,â€

Try taking a few days off and dont think about it much. I find that if i don't stress too much over it then I play a lot better and i haven't played consistently in months.

I had a neat little session today. It was only for like half and hour, and all I really did was screw around. It was probably the most fun I've ever had playing. I didn't have to worry about drilling, or hitting anything consistently, or anything like that; I just played. I also tried a bunch of different tricks and integrated a bunch of tricks I don't usually do into my strings, even though it usually resulted in a drop. I hit double over down for my first time, too :) I also tried barfly, and came really close, but nailed myself right in the.. um.. whatever. So that kind of hurt, but the rest of the session was good. I also did a bunch of really consistent and clean spinning clippers. Infinities seemed to be a lot easier, too. The whole session seemed to be very head clearing, almost as if all my tensions and worries were pouring out of me.

The CIC bday jam was fun. I also played my first real 4 square game, and ended up winning one of the games. I wasn't shredding very well though. I wish I could've stayed longer, but the fact it was so far away from the train station and I had to be driven hampered my ability to.

I tried to have a session today, but I played like shit again. I like clipper moves, but I really suck at them. I might end up just playing toe to toe if I can't fix my clippers. I mean, I'm curling my toes, I'm pushing down as hard as I can to get a flat surface, my hips are rotated in somewhat of a median between comfort and good form, but they just aren't very flat enough after all of that.

I've also been getting into playing barefoot. I've finally found my perfect clipper spot on my heel, plus it requires less crank.

Anyways, summer sucks. I have nothing to do. I don't know what some of my friends do all summer, because I never see most of them. The job market isn't accepting exra work right now, either. So I'm stuck here with nothing to do. And it's especially bad on days like today when I have a bad session and only play for a little bit. I don't know.

I gave it another try today. I also played a little bit barefoot, and somewhat suprised myself. But I'll talk about that later. I did a bunch of clipper and stepping stuff (stepping was a lot cleaner, and took less effort). I also did a couple of really good atomics. Infinities still suck though. Here are some highlights:
 2 atom smashers!
 6 alternating ripwalks!
 legbeater, bitch!

Then, here are my new barefoot records:
 mirage>pixie>rpt 7 contacts
 legover>ss legover>rpt 18 contacts
 illusion>fairy>rpt 4 contacts
 pickup>ss pickup>rpt 29 contacts (shit, that's more than my record in shoes!!)
 ss clipper>op clipper>rpt 4 contacts
 16 alternating legovers
 24 alternating pickups
 22 alternating ss mirages
 6 alternating ss illusions
 7 alternating plos
 11 alternating terrages (same as shoes!)
 3 alternating pastes

I had a really good session today. I went down to the park with my friend Colin and we played for awhile. Anyways, I finally feel like I've pulled myself out of my slump.

Spinning's finally getting very easy. And stepping is finally cleaning up well.

Anyways, here's a one shot from today:

I just got back from the cruise today, and I'm tired as hell. All the time I spent on airplanes and at airports added up to about 10-12 hours. How connecting flights save airlines money I have no idea, but they're a pain in the ass.

Well, I'm off to go waste time and attempt sleep. I forgot to mention that about half the time I spent in air-prefixed places I spent sleeping. So not only am I tired, but now I can't sleep.

Oh and I also read about 100 pages of this really weird, but really funny book with a title like "the curious case of the dog in the night" or something. Its from the point of view of this, like, autistic kid that always talks about "doing sex" and "practicing maths" and whatnot. But there's some really random stuff in there that's just so outlandishly said, and it's hilarious. It's too bad I'm too lazy to go find examples though.
