Windows XP Service Pack 2 (Or higher)

Post by Switch Kicker »

I can't get this thing to work. I meet all of the system requirments to download and install Windows XP SP2 and even SP3. However, any time I try to download it from the Windows Update page, it doesn't offer it to me. I found a direct link to the download hosted by Microsoft's site, and it stopped downloading at 99% and stopped responding, and the same thing happens when I try to download it from a 3rd party host as well.

I had SP2 earlier today, before I used the "Destructive System Recovery" option, because I had that wonderful problem with my computer sending e-mails I wasn't creating and Symantec kept filling my screen with pop-ups of how I was "unable to send e-mail to so-n-so IP address."... anyway. So I did that restore, and now... everything, including Windows Live Messengery, the latest version of iTunes, the latest version of Internet Explorer (Which I don't use, the other people in this house use it. Opera > IE), all require Windows XP SP2 or later, and I can't get this thing to work.

Does anyone know why this might be happening?

Thanks.

Clearly, because I just wiped everything off the hard drive.

Anyway, I managed to get it through a different 3rd party host and it actually downloaded all the way. Microsoft must have some problems with their networking or something, and the other 3rd party host I tried must've just been a shitty connection or something.

Either way, I got it, and I'm able to download, install, and use the programs I was intending to.

Either way, DISO new comp, lol. But yeah, thanks anyway.
