Ankle pains

Post by blankers »

After I practice clippers for awhile, I begin getting pains in the back of my ankle, around the achilles tendon when I bend my ankle to be in clipper or inside stall form. Is this a normal thing when just beginning to learn clippers, or is my form messed up in some way? The pain fades away after awhile and is usually completely gone by the next morning. It's probably worth mentioning that I practice in Quantum02's, and I have not had a chance to pick up some better insoles for them. I don't think it comes from spraining my ankle or anything like that because the pain goes away so quickly.

Edit: Forgot to mention I have flat feet, but they do not give me trouble in any other kind of sport I play, such as Ultimate Frisbee and basketball.

I dont know your ankle pain is natural but when I learned the clipper I had ankle pain too. it was not big pain and my pain was gone after 2 weeks. before you learn clippers warm up your ankles! and stretch!
consult a doctor if the pain is not over after 3-4 weeks.
I hope this help.

ya i got flat feet too, its sucks for footbag, try not to ever shred with out a shock absorbing insole/huge arch support insole. i'm dealing with a borderline shin splints problem myself, apparently that has soemthing to do with form, so i'm trying to work on that.
but ya, make sure that you stretch and warm up your ankles my ankles were very inflexible and clipper require quite a bit of flexbility, now i can sorta walk on my ankles, sounds weird i know...

even though you might not have injured your ankle by rolling it, the exercises in this thread might help you out:
