Hey, I thought about it.
Bent.
It really does have a a half dex...
if you do it deep enough.
I did some more when I got home and practiced doing them like really deep. and when i mean deep, i mean setting them closer to my body and tilting my leg more toward horizontal. I guess the way to do it is not to do it like a hop over but more like the way most people do quantum dexes (leggy) the thing is with it, i just think you really have to focus on making sure your leg passes over the bag, you can just step through...if that makes sense.

So, I finally had a solo session for the first time in.... two weeks? maybe? Idk. Anyhuay....
Not much of a session. At work last night I passed the time by thinking about footbag so I figured later in the day (today) I would start out by hitting 50 infinities and 50 osis. Uh, yea, I didnt do either, ha. The place I normally shred was being used for some wierd little kid entertainment thing, twas strange. Anyway, the reason that is releveant is because I had to play in a new spot that was a little slanted so any repetition of any move was kinda out of the question.
So yea, after only getting around 20 infinities and osis I figured Id move on to the next subject of the agenda, a drill I thought of last night. It goes, toe whirl>dlo>drifter>barrage>rpt. Doesnt sound too bad right? Well, its not. I managed a good 4 contacts starting from each side, but pretty soon my legs started to feel kinda out of it, which was very disappointing.
However, that got me to mess around with pdx whirl which lead to me hitting 4 new 5-adds.
They were:
-flip phoenix
-pixie ducking whirl
-mobius
-pdx blender
Out of all of those, pdx blender caught me the most by surprise. Now ya see, Ive hit blender, maybe a total of 5 times in my footbag career. Idk what urged me to try and hit blender but for some reason I thought, "hmm, I feel like I could whip my leg around in a blender fashion rather easily" and I could.
Needless to say I was pleasntly surprised. Then I thought, "Hmm, pdx blender feels like it could flow pretty easy" So after 3 tries, BAM! I just kinda caught the bag and shouted, "WHAT?!" and laughed to myself for a good 2 minutes or so.
All in all, not a very consistent session, but a good day for new moves, which is good cuz I was just thinking how Ive only hit a handful of 5's.
Peace

It's fun to add-hunt.
Before this summer I'd probably hit about 3 or 4 5-adds, and in just the past two weeks ive hit like 10, haha. Here's two more to add to the list:
-spinning ducking osis
-swivel
The only reason I even am starting to hit big tricks is because my string length has been shit lately. I was actualy jut talking to Pat about this and I tihnk the reaosn my legs have been so out of it recently is due to all the bike riding Ive been doing recently. Im trying to save as much gas as possible so I just bike where ever is plausible as well as to and from where ever I decide to have a shred session so Idk if thats hurting my legs by biking>stretching>shredding>biking>stretching or something. Meh, Idk. I just really hope I can get back to a decent consistency before NYC.

I've ridden my bike more in the last two months than I have in my whole life.
I wasn't a bike rider when I was a kid.
anyway, addhunting can be fun. Things will get better, NAY! THEY MUST get better by NYCSS. Which, by the way, merits a few PMs to get some travel plans in order.
see you possible this weekend.

dont think that biking is making your strings shorter, its not, if anything, biking will help your consistency and it will DEFINITELY make you stronger. my difficulty level and string length has blown up from riding, and im riding over 100 miles a week. if you feel like riding is leaving you with little to no energy to play with, gear down, and up your cadence (how many times your pedals go around in a minute) spinning your legs faster with less resistance will keep them more limber and youll use less energy because you wont have to push as hard. basically, if you're whipped from riding a bicycle, ride easier until you can handle the higher intensity.DTank126 wrote:It's fun to add-hunt.![]()

Thanx for that bit of information Paul, thats exactly what I need to do, up my cadence.
Ben, I ride a rather standard bicycle, trek 2300, nothing special.
I've never said biking doesnt work your legs Pete, I've always agreed with you.
Pat, Yes, things MUST get better indeed.
So yea, good lil session with Ian. I hurt my left leg falling off a friends shed a few nights ago so it's all raw. Luckily it only hurts when I touch it so the only time I experienced pain during the session was when my leg brushed aginst my other leg during a drifter or something. Depsite the pain, its prolly good that it hurt because that motivated me to do drifters with better form.
Anywho, it wasnt a groundbreaking session or anything, just a settling one b/c I ws able to get thru most of my tiltless drills in 1 or 2 tries, so that was good. Oh, and also I hit pixie ducking whirl again, first try!
Oh, and I finally hit drifter>torque>rpt within a few attempts, now I just gotta hit 5 contacts or start from torque.
Peace

So apparently Im not supposed to play music by the canal.... fuck that.
Decent lil session. I tried riding down to the canal on my bike about 10 gears lower than normal and I dont expect to have an accurate idea of how much difference it makes in my shred after only one session, but I did play better than I have been during my solo sessions. Ugh, what a poorly contructed sentence, aw well. Anyway, here's a highlight, and dont ask me to hit it on command if we're playing together, Im not that good.
-drifter>gyro clip>dyno>rpt
Life in general is lookin a lil brighter. Ive been really down lately and wrote a bunch of stuff in my last entry but ended up deleting it all. Anyway, hopefully I can keep progressing with this whole footbag thing.

Footbag is so much fun!
So I was reading someone's challenge page (I forgot who, feel free to post if you recognize the drill) and found a link that was right up my alley. It goes:
-pixie ducking clipper>dlo>plo>rpt
Other than that it was a pretty laid back session, just me and Ian. Ian's really coming along, his tiltless is lookin easy and he's starting to mix in lots of bops, so thats cool. You can check out hit blog if he posts some of the new stuff he hit. As for me, my only other highlight really was hitting symp whirl bsos, symp whirl>drifter bs, and phoenix>symp whirl. Oh, and I hit ss whirl>dlo>rpt after too many tries. Seriously, first try was so close then I just started using bad form.
Whatever, I'll try and hit again with better form.
Peace
