I let my craw worm out my pants at taste(I was fishing afterwards). The taste pissed me off because they closed when I was next in line for ribs and I still had food tickets, what a ripoff.(except they gave me free food tickets for shredding on stage) I also got 3rd place in the open level circle contest!!!
And I finally got a largemouth bass at like 9 pm but I lost him? The shred was good and I think Ill actually practice a couple times this week before the b day jam.

The Chicago Folk & Roots festival is taking up all of Welles Park this weekend. It isn't on the park district calendar, I only found out randomly today that this is going on.

We need to pick a different park or a different weekend.

I just thought of something... We have CIC. Then we have our good friends whom we call Chicago Outer Circle or COC (don't jump ahead of me!) Now we have the CIC logo. Now imagine changing the 'I' in the middle to an 'O' and shifting the last inverted 'C' just a little to make it look like the head of an erect penis... or COCk, if you will...

Hey y'all.

I think I'm gonna just plan Sunday Freestyle sessions now. So far it hasn't been worth the time contacting the squares players (I can't seem to get any of them to come out anyway).

Also thinking about changing parks. IP or Portage or another park closer to freestylers would be more convenient. But Welles is really nice - it isn't that far away, there's shade, scenery, sometimes cool stuff happens there, etc. Only thing I dislike is that damned drum circle. Bobcat Goldthwaite looking motherfucker.

Yeah I'm down for not being @ Welles all the time. I mean - I'd like to have sessions there still, and I'd like to see the squares players, but if it's just us like yesterday then might as well be closer to us. Also we can plan some at those skate parks and other places, maybe recruit some stylers.

Wilson Skate Park - Wilson Ave and Lakeshore Drive. Near Montrose Beach.

For some nice Lake MI scenery, hot soccer girls, and maybe inspire some fresh stylers (w/o any real effort other than being there).

What time are you planning on kicking tomorrow.... I don't know where this wilson skate park is though.... But I can find it. Sorry, I haven't been kicking with you guys. It's a been a lazy time for me this summer.

Nate checked the skate park and not good surface for us, so we're gonna cruise a few new spots on a scout mission today.

I don't think the Wilson skate park has much potential for us. There's a skate park, and a parking lot by the skate park, but the parking lot is A: gonna be used by people parking and B: in pretty poor condition (big cracks & potholes). No shade, not sure where a water fountain or bathroom would be either.

So we went on a recon mission to test spots at a couple street fests. We started at a Wicker Park neighborhood fest, playing on the sidewalk in front of the Wicker Park field house. We could hear the bands fine without being on the festival grounds, and there was plenty of eye candy. The concrete itself wasn't level and we could've used about twice as much space.

I think Wicker Park has some potential for kickers because there's a lot of kind of counter-cultural types in their early 20s. Limiting that potential is the fact that there are a lot of very tight pants being worn... Tom got a couple people's contact info, we kicked with one guy who could toe stall & was at the "pretty good hacker" stage of development.

Then we went to Taste of Lincoln, and kicked outside that fest at some kind of micropark & garden by a hospital. We could hear the music from the fest, the spot was fine for our purposes - better than Wicker Park probably - but nothing spectacular. Nothing to have a planned session at IMO.

It was fun exploring the city more. I don't think Tom was happy with how he played but I was satisfied with myself. And smug.

Anyway, Fred's in Thailand. From my conversation with Josh on Saturday it seems like he & Jake might be freestyling a lot less in the future. So its pretty much just me & Tom holding it down right now.
