I have been listening to electronic music for years, since about '97. I love most genres and have listened to alot of it and have seen most of the Dj's and acts that are mentioned in this thread. I love all types although some in moderation.
My favourite types are breakbeat, drum and bass, glitch hop, organic techno, and tribal/funky/hard house. Trance is o.k. you can find some wicked stuff but most of it is shit, and no offence to anyone tiesto is the bottom of the barrel crappy trance.

also look for bbc radio one, fingerlickin records, splank records ... the list goes on and its better if you search yourself and find what you like or ask me and i might have a bunch of it
other than that type in the name of the dj you like and something like live sets along with it, on a search engine and you will find their site or one related with mixes or tunes.
for different type i recommend different artists.
Breakbeat and house:
Krafty kuts, dj czech, freq nasty, robb g, phat conductor,
Glitch hop
glitch mob (ooah, boreta, kraddy), jansten, bassnectar
Drum and bass:
Ragga = sixteenarmjack, archangel, mainframe, dj k
Dark = kryptic minds, ewun, evol intent, dieselboy, hive
Light = shy fx, dj zinc, marcus intalex
hard and popular = Andy c, kenny ken, dj hype,
IDM = Knifehand chop, belladonnakills ( i guess squarepusher ... ?) Mike patton,
I hate categorizing it but its easier to find and expain if you do. Hope you have fun and if you have any suggestions please let me know.
